Inspired by a true story, The Vow is the tale of a love that refuses to be forgotten. They hated the movie for that reason. Which just goes to show - it is more important to be with someone because you *want* to be with them than because you made a vow - you want to constantly engage your partner.

Imagine going back to the part of your life where you have never met the love of your life.. but you were with your ex.. and he was still in love with you. I judst can't imagine what someone in Paige's position is going through. She knows she was in love with him and really want to remember but she just can't. Over the course of getting to know him again she has realised that he is a great guy but the feelings just aren't there anymore. It's must be so frustrating.

The Notebook woulda been way better if they didn't keep showing the perspectives of the fast forwarded present timeline when they're old with dementia. That's what really ruined the notebook for me. Nothing against aging, it just sorta ruined the whole young romance vibes and would have been better left for the audience to imagine the rest once she returned and chose noah.
