I love how Movies distract us from unhappy times, and for just a moment, put us in better feeling times. Awe, the skill of a Good Actor!
@ajaysharma-ry3nuАй бұрын
Say today you get to live like a king in a palace of your choice for a day, the only catch would be you'd have to ponder over some decisions that he might have to take over that while. Now the king says he is unhappy and is glad he got a day off and you'd be thinking to yourself, if only you could be a king and would nevertheless be grateful. Think of life as your only chance in a sea of infinite possibilities, unhappiness is not something you'd associate with that opportunity. So nevertheless feel grateful.

_Notting Hill_ is one of my all time favourite films and of the late 90s. It shows that some famous people want to love people who aren’t rich or famous like they are, just normal individuals who work, live normal lives and have better personalities and a heart. Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts were brilliant together as William and Anna.

What can I say… The creators - and of course the two incredible actors (and thanks to everyone else as well) have managed to show in such a wonderful way that love knows no boundaries! I suspected something like that was going on with Julia. In my extras section of my DVD of Notting Hill, Hugh Grant had his own video camera on the set where he was videoing anyone and everyone, but there is not a single shot or interaction with Julia. That speaks volumes. These things happen in real life, sometimes so you just have to make the best of it.

My thought when I saw this in the theater.... I SAW her once, one little while, and then no more: ’Twas Eden’s light on Earth a while, and then no more. Amid the throng she passed along the meadow-floor: Spring seemed to smile on Earth awhile, and then no more; But whence she came, which way she went, what garb she wore 5 I noted not; I gazed a while, and then no more! I saw her once, one little while, and then no more: ’Twas Paradise on Earth a while, and then no more. Ah! what avail my vigils pale, my magic lore? She shone before mine eyes awhile, and then no more. The shallop of my peace is wrecked on Beauty’s shore. Near Hope’s fair isle it rode awhile, and then no more! I saw her once, one little while, and then no more: Earth looked like Heaven a little while, and then no more. Her presence thrilled and lighted to its inner core My desert breast a little while, and then no more. So may, perchance, a meteor glance at midnight o’er Some ruined pile a little while, and then no more! I saw her once, one little while, and then no more: The earth was Peri-land awhile, and then no more. Oh, might I see but once again, as once before, Through chance or wile, that shape awhile, and then no more! Death soon would heal my griefs! This heart, now sad and sore, Would beat anew a little while, and then no more. James Clarence Mangan

It's 1999. Hugh Grant is 39. His character could have owned the property for a few years. In 1993 the UK property market was on its knees, full of repossessions, and interest rates were historically low in the wake of UK leaving the ERM. So it's plausible if you assume the purchase happened around that time. Prices started to rise in the mid 90s but remained vaguely affordable for a few years.
