Great video. I'm interested in getting one of these units. One thing that should be discussed when comparing this to other more feature rich units is how it feels to play. I use Studio Devil Amp Pro as well as Virtual Guitar Amp II. I also own Amplitude 5 and Waves PRS Supermodels. The Studio Devil VSTs feel and react way more like playing a real amp than the others. The same technology is used in Ampli-firebox. This is the unit I will buy. For recording I personally rather use this and then using effects and such in the DAW. Way more flexibility doing this, and better quality studio effects. For pure guitar amp tone and feel, simple to use, this is my choice. I've been playing guitar since age of 12 and still playing as much at 61.

Yes, it has less features than a Pod Go, but sometimes less is more....There are less options, but I think it by far has the best tones in the sub $600 price range.

Hi Nicholas, actually the bass tone is recorded DI and then in guitar rig 5 + torpedo wall of sound for the cabinet. Thank you for your message!

great review. It sounds awesome. I dig the minimalistic approach. it fits well into any pedalboard. It works well as astandalone at every gig. IMO lacks a tuner to fulfill its purposes.

Thanks Leo. I was waiting for your review of this. Perhaps the issue with this unit is that we may comparing it to the wrong devices. Perhaps this was aimed at the Strymon Iridium or The Walrus Audio ACS1 and pedals of that format. I would love to hear how you think it compares to those pedals?

I agree with your assessment of this product. I think it's a cool box and the sounds are good but I really need it to be stereo and I think an effects effects loop would go a long way here.

I bought the unit and I keep it in my gig bag as a back up in case my fractal goes down. It's the only unit I like that is small enough to do this with.

IMHO, this is a killer. I do not need an interface, I have my Focusrite. Plug it, end of story. Less is more here. I honestly can tell you the sound is fantastic. Not so many amps but all good (why more? we never had so many in the past!). If you want 100K million options, this is not for you. If you want a straightforward burning sound, and not so many presets (I need just 2 and I am happy)..go for it. The sound is superb, which at the end, it's what really matters.

As always, great review Leo. I like your honesty. I agree that this pedal is overpriced given there are modeling pedals out there that have more features with midi, wah, volume etc. Also, if the pedal is based on Studio Devil's ToneBrain technology, and I have Studio Devil's VST plug-in in my DAW, then the sounds produced are inferior to my beloved Ampero. If you want a bare bones modeler to quickly plug-in at a gig without fancy access to effects, then this pedal might be good. Then again, you'll probably find yourself dragging a laptop to every gig to finetune the sound.

I don't think it has enough features a that price. I'm not sure who their target audience is. I purchased my HX Stomp for $500, and it is packed with numerous useful features, including Audio interface, Stereo in/out, MIDI, Amps, Cabs, Effects, and so much more. Thanks

Sounds great, but a LOT of that is your great playing. I think they missed the boat again without offering Bluetooth and an app you can edit the pedal on the fly (just like Line 6 did on the POD Go). My guess is that this is a direct competitor to the Strymon Iridium and Walrus ACS1. Neither of which have Bluetooth or an app. They are also all the same price at $399 and would be for the people who don't want to go full digital. I think it's pretty safe to say this wasn't created with the Pod Go, Helix, etc in mind. Atomic Audio has other products that fit in with that market. I agree though, the pedal and playing sound great!

Okay. The sounds are good. But the Interface is outdated and annyoing to look at. Just two Footswitches. Just a few Amps and Effects. For 100€ more, you can have a Pod Go or the two alternatives you've shown in the Video. Why should anybody want to buy that? 200€ would be a fair price, considering the competitors.
