I used the original Atomic Amplifire for a over year, it's an awesome tool and after tweaking it sounds amazing. That said, the tones in this video were not great. That could be a lot of different factors but overall I think it highlights that no matter how much we all love gear demos on youtube, you still need to try something for yourself before making a judgment.

So iam using this Box now for 2 weaks or so. Iam a professional musician, who don't want to take heavy ass amps and boxes to a gig. I tried this thing in reharsal and had 1 gig so far with it and it worked REALLY well. Iam using it with my pedalboard, mostly the clean amp and drive this thing with my drive pedal of choice. I used to own a kemper but switched to this because it is more intuitive to use. Now I can use my board anywere and its the only thing I have to take with me other than my guitar.

Hey there, how does it go taking drive pedals is front of it? I have a flyrig as a backup to my amp at gigs, but I dont like the overdrive or the way my pedals act in front of it! Thanks in advance

Once again, I'm wondering if Andertons deliberately make demos of anything of the modeling type sound awful. Truly, I have yet to hear any good demos from them of such tech. I believe Pete Thorn reviewed this unit... either him or Brett Kingman... go listen to that demo and be prepared to be truly impressed.

This sounds waaay bright and fizzy through most of the amp models you demoed. What cab model did you use? I have the original Amplifire, and with the right cab selected, it can sound pretty darn decent, and quite round & warm if need be. Even better with aftermarket IRs.

I've played that Girls Aloud song too :-) I have an Amplifire 12 and keep looking at Helix, Headrush, AX8, Kemper but none of them match the practicality of carrying the AA12, AA3 or the Firebox to rehearsals and gigs.

The Soldano and Fender clones seemed pretty good. The foray into the Friedman profiles didn't quite hit the mark. I think there are good tones in this device, if you have the patience to fiddle around with it for a while. Like a lot of these massively-tweakable modeling devices, there's plenty of room to get it wrong, and make it sound synthetic and thin.

Andertons has taken a beating on the forums for somehow making this pedal sound bad. I have one, and it sounds excellent. In fact it’s kind of hard to make it sound bad. I use it for recording, and I no longer use Bias or Amplitube. The AFB is far better for fundamental amp tones.

It's pretty clear that Joss and Pete are not hearing what's going to "tape". They're listening back through a PA monitor that hypes the bass frequencies. When they think it sounds good in the room, it's sounding thin and shrill to us (not enough bass). Bummer! They're also auditioning different amps with the same cabinet and amp specific EQ from one preset. Not good or representative to how things sound out of the box without even touching the editor.

Love the Editor. But, it's INSANE they don't make one for an iPad. The entire point of an Amplifire/Ampli-FireBox is portability and economy. Having to use/lug around a laptop and not a more portable and more inexpensive device for editing is a design strategy/marketing flaw. I don't even need bluetooth. Just a wired USB connection would suffice.... I can't believe i have to buy a Windows 10 tablet to run the editor.... WINDOWS! I hate myself already.

Frosttyy12 it has nothing to do with age. It is a matter of practicality. I certainly would not haul my stuff arround in the room, just to edit a freaking delay time or switch a Screamer against a Clean boost. Nor am I willing to buy another 5 meters of cables etc. Then again, the thing sounds really good and I am getting an Amplifire 6 soon :)
