I remember getting my wooden railway Henry when I was young and it's magnets were backwards and that made me happy because my Toad that I already had also had backwards magnets so if I had Toad at the end of Henry's trains Toad would facing the right way.

I also found TrackMaster 2 Henry hard to find. Whereas there were endless amounts of Toby's at every store I went to, I've only found two Henry's during that time period.

Also (at least here in the US), Raul and Ivan are not rare at all. They still have the Take n Play versions on shelves that haven't sold yet. I think the chart has them labeled as "rare" in hopes that people will buy them when they see them so that stores can get rid of their surplus stock.

Maybe slapping rare on Toby is a way of making him move. One thing I do notice is the Thomas Adventures range is very popular. But this is mainly because TWR in stores has basically vanished and Chuggington diecast vanished years ago. In essence Thomas Adventures has no real competition in the marketplace.

Sadly there are so many e-bay sellers playing games with prices. From what I can work out e-bay will rank the more expensive stuff higher because in the end they make more money as well. I had to hunt around to find the lower priced toys. The huge price variation on that toy is a real warning to anyone buying from the so called cheap online buying sites. To me these days they seem more like shopping rip-off traps than a place to get a good price. In a real store you would never see these sorts of games going on. E-bay should understand that sellers playing super high price games only damages their brand. I certainly exposed how silly it gets.

eBay has been a huge disappointment for the last 7 years or so. They discourage me from selling because they give so much power to the unscrupulous buyers and yet there are obvious scummy sellers out there. In the LEGO community you have the problem with drop shippers who buy and sell products they do not even have. I almost bid on an old set yesterday and I look closely at the fine print. The item for sale was not what the pictures were. People are very tricky. You seem to have a lot of success finding stuff at the charity shops and thats probably still going to be a much safer way to get things. I really think some of the big companies are missing out on a tremendous marketing opportunity by not sending you stuff to review and test - I suppose for the high shipping to Australia. They send them to people here who do not have close to the knowledge you have.

I'm totally ignored by the major toy companies, Lego had their little copyright battle with me years ago and they burned the bridge there. That stopped me looking over many Lego sets. Sad fact is whats killed the toy area on this site is overproduction. Every second channel turned into a toy channel and many people run multiple toy channels. Greed is always good.

To be fair, I think the reason why Henry wasn’t blue in the Tv series was because Allcroft didn’t want the team to spend hour upon hour painting Henry blue or maybe because she didn’t want to confuse Henry for Gordon.

Hi Leo, this is a lovely thing your doing. A couple of things I have to say is personally I think the 2005 Culdee is the best wooden railway version of Culdee available. I have been collecting wooden railway since I was little and I stopped when I was about 12, the wooden railway stock seems to have been neglected by fisher price and when I saw what that 60th anniversary Henry was going for I was amazed, I have one in box but the box is worse for wear. Also I don't know if you know this but Thomas wooden railway is getting a redesign next year, and I mean a complete redesign which I think is a terrible decision on fisher prices behalf as they are removing backwards compatibility with the old style track and making the track so it can't connect with other brands. I'm sorry this went on so long and I hope you see this just for my thoughts on the wooden railway redesign, and I wouldn't mind seeing your thoughts about this as well in a future video. Thanks for entertaining us all these years Leo.

I'm guessing Blue Henry was ignored by the model series because of the way it was produced, whereby they built one set, filmed all the scenes for the entire season on that set, tore it down and built the next set, rinse and repeat. In order to show Henry in blue (since he was also blue when he appeared in Thomas The Tank Engine Again, the fourth Railway Series book) they would have needed to keep repainting him from green to blue to green etc. This was in 1983/4, so recolouring the footage may not have been as easy as it would be today. It is likely for this reason that James is never seen in his black livery in the model series either. No idea why they neglected to use Henry's old shape in The Adventure Begins however. I suppose it's possible that they thought children might be confused by it as we would not be seeing him get his new shape in the film, unlike with James's red coat. Probably also why he's not repainted blue in that either because he'd just be back to green again in the main series. Had they made a series of Railway Series specials they may have considered using his old shape and temporary blue colouring, though it's all speculation.

If you're curious about the American markets near where I live, I've recently been to local Walmarts, K-Marts, and the like, and I see so many Take n' Play Stephens, Trackmaster Hiros, all sorts of Tobys, and even a few Ducks, Donalds, and Douglas'. I actually see Henrys fly off the pegs, and I'm not sure why. I live in the Northeastern US, so maybe the demographic up here enjoys Henry. I'm shocked Duck, Donald and Douglas don't sell, however. I thought they were fan-favorites.

This was a great look into Henry's merchandise. In the early days he was as big a character as percy or James, but now he gets mixed up with percy. James hasn't been to good either as now nia has taken his spot and he's become a rude engine (ex. Apology Impossible). But that's just how Thomas is now.

HORNBY HENRY WHAT!!! The only hornby things I have was the "Thomas passenger and goods trains set" and I've had it for 7 years now and I also have the hornby percy locomotive. I wish my parents could get me things like this since it's hard to find things in Sydney. Also, when I was at Hobbyco getting my Hornby Percy around 4 years ago, I saw them open the cupboard and I saw a DISCONTINUED HORNBY SPENCER!!! I knew I wouldn't get it though since it was probably more than $200 anyways. Leo I agree that toys being very beaten up indeed show that they were loved! I still keep a die cast duck made by tomy. It was one of those small ones. I used to play with it everyday when I was still a little boy. One day I pulled it out of my box of toy trains and I only realised that it was so beaten up that not a little bit of the paint except for the funnel is left on it. This reminds me that duck is still my favourite character in Thomas and Friends.

Wow! Leo you are a very very VERY nice person! I have learned from experience that if your getting one thing from Leo he ends up making you a new best friend. These character collection videos remind me of the good old Mini Me competition days... It seems to be that there haven't been any "special" Henrys recently... During classic Trackmaster there was the O' the Indignity Gordon which sat on pegs for months in my area, Gordon to the Rescue, a three-speed RC variation, as well as a talking variation which Henry also received. Revolution includes snowy and muddy variations, as well as Shooting Star Gordon. Back in Plarail, Gordon received the rather rare Powerful variation, as well as a different Shooting Star variation and a place in the Talk 'n' Action series. Henry received both aforementioned talking variations, but only had a snow clearing version outside of the norm which I only saw once in a Toys R Us. I believe it was an exclusive. While fact-checking on the Trackmaster Wikia, I discovered something which may be an important piece of the puzzle-Gordon was the only engine which still used the battery-in-tender arrangement as a holdover from the TOMY era in the 2009 to 2014 Fisher-Price era. I can recall seeing the Henry with the separate tender - I believe it was the aforementioned snow-clearing variation- and assuming that Gordon had received the same redesign in the mid-Mattel era, but that was incorrect. It's possible that the Trackmaster era had an abundance of Gordons over Henry because Mattel wanted to push out the rest of the Gordon chassis they still had around, redesigning Henry when they had the chance upon running out of back stock of his chassis. All speculation, but entirely possible. As an aside, the only Trackmaster-era Henry I own is the talking variation, with both of my regular versions coming from the TOMY era. On the Gordon side of things, I have both regular, talking, and O' the Indignity variations from the Mattel era, as well as regular and Powerful variations from the TOMY era. Another interesting topic is Edward, receiving only a few talking variations in all eras of the TOMY/Trackmaster system up until the Revolution Glow in the Dark Edward, which I can't say I've ever seen for sale.

I already knew all of those facts about Henry but I'll just say something you possibly didn't know. If You Go And watch Season 1 all the way to the episode "The Flying Kipper" You'll notice Henry will have his old shape but it is actually WIDER That Gordon's shape. The shapes are the same but Henry's shape is wider. Also Henry doesn't have Gordon's design. He has his own design and everything is the same except the shapes but Henry's is wider at that one point in the history of the NWR. Also true fact about "The Flying Kipper" It is the first episode of the show to have an onscreen crash.

There are thomas,percy,James, Emily, Toby and Winston.(he's from blue mountain mystery). thomas and percy both came in sets. but you could also collect them separately. you can also get sound chips for thomas and percy.i really love your videos I watch them every day. I think that eventually, all steam engines in the Thomas and Friends franchise that are green will become blue. So, that means that Percy will become blue. I'm starting to think that maybe the company that does the Thomas and Friends movies and episodes will paint their engines a different color on their different anniversary. Or maybe it's because their number one engine is blue. Also, maybe it's because the mythical island of where the steam engines are "Sodor" is surrounded by water and water looks to be blue. Okay, I just searched why Henry is blue and it's because in 1935 Henry asked the railway crew if he could be painted blue. He was painted blue, but because of all the confusion with Henry and Gordon being the same color, they changed him to green. That is the reason why they made the Thomas and Friends 60th Anniversary Henry making him green on one side and blue on the other.

They painted Thomas green and all that created was a toy that doesn't sell. So many 70th anniversary Thomas adventures on the pegs it's not funny. There is something about colour changes that spooks Thomas fans.

I don't know about you, but I think you missed something at 7:40 where the Trackmaster 2 Henry was derailing. As for Henry in The Adventure Begins, maybe they weren't going to rep present why Henry's in his old shape. That has to be it. It may sound ridiculous. Also, no wonder why these wooden models of the 60th Anniversary Henry is so rare and hard to find on eBay these days. Who know when another Tomy Henry like that might show up to you again. ; ) In the place where I live, the Trackmaster 2 Henry was also hard to find and I can only find it online, including Diesel. However, the tender on the Adventures Henry model looks just like Gordon's. But on the Take-n-Play model, it's done correctly. Also, I've recently did a video of the new 2017 Wooden Railway Thomas.

one Thomas range I started searching for is more wooden railway. I think its a lot better than the other modern ranges. sadly only one store around where I live sells them. I tend to watch ur vids to give me an idea of how large the variety is and this video is one good example. their are loads of different types of ranges and to think this is only one character lol (^_^)

Henry wasnt painted blue in the tv series because they thought it would Cause confusion with people watching the show and there would be to many blue engines same was done to Donald and douglas they were also painted blue in the books but were kept black for the same reason as henry. I hope this helps

After my legal run in with the Lego company doing a video on a series that has an owner leaves me open to them taking control of the video. You see Mattel own the rights to Thomas & Friends and they can do whatever they want with the fan made content. It's really risky making those styles of videos. KZbin isn't the happy go lucky place it used to be many years ago.

One problem for me is I became a popular producer. People who have ownership on brands can pick off what they want control of online. Disney have certainly been doing that and making some channels join networks so they could take a cut of what's being produced. It spooks me Mattel totally ignore me but maybe thats also very good. I would hate to think how many of their toys I have help sell, yet never have they said thanks. It smacks of how big companies worth these days. There are some Thomas toys I have loads of trouble obtaining and if I had assistance from Mattel it would make my job easier. Maybe not being connected lets me say what I want to say about a toy. It's really sad to see so many producers here doing blatant ad's for toys without any balance in a review. Not being American land me with a massive disadvantage on KZbin, I'm used to that now and just accept I will always seem awkward to so many viewers because I don't sound American.

Actually Leo, wooden railway made a Henry that was green but had blue splotches of paint on it, I know because I had the train growing up, but I either sold it or I lost it, I don't remember.

Hello Leo I have a couple of items to give you in return of your incredible act of selflessness. Among these items, is an old Triang loco I got from Freches Forest model railway exhibition. The loco in question is a real bizarre one as it appears to be based on some sort of American loco. It smokes on most tracks I’ve seen it on but if I can rummage through my garage to find which box it is in I will try my best to fix it.

Thank you Leo for giving that kid Henry I have a attachment with Henry When I was 1 I had a liver that didn't work and have to have a transplant ( like Henry's small smoke box) and then when I was 2 I had to do it again and it worked( like Henry's rebuild) then later my neighbors gave me a thomas DVD and I saw Henry and I thought he whent through what I did the I got a wooden one then take n play then ERTL and I just got a tomy ( hit toy company ) thank you I hope you under stand - Donald and Douglas fan 10 ( Brayden)

Ok, so at 14:38 the Thomas and Friends Adventures Poster you were holding showed that the first engine on the left front corner of the poster had an engine that was named saying Special Edition Original Thomas. And what color was he, GREEN. So, my theory could be correct, that all Thomas and Friends steam engines that are green will be blue.
