I have a theory that Aaravos actually created Leola after spending years among mortals. He watched families over countless centuries, and wanted to know what it was like to feel that kind of familial love. If he created her with his own magic, it makes him losing her even sadder. He literally wished for a daughter and literally created her with his love. 💔

One thing a lot of people have been pointing out is that Leola is showing numerous traits of being Autistic (there's imagery of her walking on her toes, lining up toys, stacking things, covering her ears during the trial and flapping her hands - though I really want to give a show of hands to Aaravos for managing her near meltdown while protecting her and speaking on her behalf at the same time). Of course, one of the other big things about Autism in children as young as Leola here is a sense of empathy that ties in with a strong sense of justice. Of course she would think it's unfair that humans can't learn magic by cosmic command. So of course, when she was taken to trial, ALONE, who knows how things would have gone for her if Aaravos hadn't been alerted that she had been taken.

Tbh I really disagree with the perspective that Aaravos not choosing to die was in any way selfish. There is really no angle where the act of not choosing death itself is condemnable because it would literally have done nothing for Leola (I don't think that them dying together would have made the process any less terrible for Leola, because now she would not just die herself but also witness her father die right in front of her). His choices afterwards can very well be selfish (such as enacting revenge) but the mere act of dying? No. The whole point in my eyes, is that the star council's suggestion of both of them dying is just utterly absurd. Imo that place of love that Aaravos tells Leola she will go to is almost certainly not real and was just something he said to her to lessen her fear. We don't know what the actual afterlife looks like in Xadia so I don't think it's fair to say he actually refused to go with her to this place of love. Especially since he was ready to die for her immediately when he thought he could actually save her. So clearly he values her life over his. He could very well have chosen to die because he felt like his life lost all meaning but I think he realised that Leola was precisely the reason why he should stay alive: I believe that his newly discovered purpose was to continue her legacy, destroy the cosmic order, and make sure that her dream of humans and magical beings living in peace, and also humans living in a self-empowered way by being able to wield magic, becomes reality. In that way she would live on in the world. So he most likely continued to live precisely for his daughter. Obviously his intent/motivation being initially selfless doesn't mean that his actual actions are in any way good. I think his intense wish to let Leola's dream live on got obviously mixed with a deep-seated desire for revenge, tainting his view and having him adopt the mindset that the end goal is so important that it doesn't matter by which means it is achieved. From his twisted perspective cruelty, death and destruction are a "fair" price to pay for his idea of the greater good. Lastly, I'm not sure if Leola can be brought back. The way I read the scene was that she was condemned to a true death, which is why the whole verdict was so terrible. If it was just her mortal form then I don't think it would have been as shattering for Aaravos (or her) because her consciousness would just go back to the stars and exist there with the other startouch elves. So she would quite literally not die. And also, she would be able to return to earth soon enough when her stars would align. But what I took from the scene is that the star touch council destroyed her very consciousness/soul along with her body. (The only way to revive her would be if her soul was trapped in that world between life and death like Runaan. Perhaps due to unexpected events the startouch elves' execution wasn't flawless and her soul was actually able to escape and she is indeed trapped in that realm. But tbh then I don't know why Aaravos didn't revive Leola sooner, considering he had the quasar diamond all along since centuries. After all he is the one who built the staff (which was so old, it was used by the first dark mage) and put the diamond inside. He already had the most important ingerdient and could easily have conducted the ritual. So I don't think it's likely that Leola's soul lingers in the realm between life and death.) My guess is that Aaravos' final plan is to assume power, destroy the star touch elves' celestial order/sovereignty over the mortal world and create Leola's vision of a united, peaceful world (while also taking revenge on everyone who deserves it in his eyes), in the fashion of a misguided god that tries to create a perfect world by force.
@Olivia-W5 ай бұрын
This is a great analysis :D. I also disagree choosing not to die is selfish. It does nothing for Leola, and the Cosmic Order goes on as usual, being awful and terrible, and now there is no one to oppose them in the future. Aaravos may have been twisted over time, but I believe his original intentions were noble.

My best attempt at guessing the inconsistency between "they can't be killed" said by the celestial elves and Leola's permanent death, is that star-touched elves are in fact a bit god-like and control the information available on earth, that means they didn't want it to be known that they could actually die permanently. This is reinforced by the fact that no one had the slightest idea that Aaravos had a daughter and that said daughter had been unalive, I mean, hundreds of legends, rumors and stories about how evil Aaravos was and none of them mention that he had a reason. That or Aaravos is an unreliable narrator. Yes, he definitely is, but like, much more. Honestly, I believe Aaravos.

I still think the future the startouched elves saw is a self-fufilling prophecy, and by doing things like killing Leola they set up in motion events that lead to the very future they were trying to avoid. This season just progressively got a lot better the further it went. I cried at Virens letter and death, and seeing Leola get executed also made me tear up. I'm really happy they've decided to take the show in a more mature direction. It makes for such better storytelling and characters. Scenes like Terry bathing Claudia from the blood and dirt, Callum and Rayla in bed, Viren taking his wife's tears (which I personally interpreted as an allegory for assault) and more all would've never happened in a kids show. And the Dragon Prince is much better for it.

I think Aaravos’ discovery of dark magic (unnatural and chaotic) makes it now possible for him to resurrect Leola if done right. However, he likely didn’t do it because he plans to after humanity and Xadia achieve 100% equality as we are gradually seeing in the modern day. In other words, Aaravos would want to bring his daughter back once the prejudices and cosmic order problems are removed. This is similar in DOTA Dragon’s Blood in which the Invoker destroys all his enemies and ensure the good guys win first before implementing his work in resurrecting his daughter. Mystery of Aaravos shows us resurrections happening left and right so Leola coming back is not off the charts. Regarding Leola’s heritage, I think she is a creation between Aaravos and the unicorns. Creation not biologically born. Conceived through magic. The reason is that Aaravos nicknames Leola his “little unicorn” and how she is very unusual and quirky for a Startouch Elf, attributes applied mostly for unicorns. Leola likely asked the other unicorns to help her aid humanity since it is implausible for a child like her to create primal stones and teach the draconic language to humans on her own. So it is a team effort which backfired: the Startouch Elves killing Leola and the Dark Mages hunting unicorns for their horns.

While I understand the idea, I don’t think Xadia and human equality was ever his goal, even if it would eliminate the prejudice that led to his daughters death. He was fine aiding Viren in his quest to defeat Xadia, even suggesting that Viren completely conquer Xadia as his goal. He killed Janai’s grandmother and completely fucked up Lux Aureai. Hun giving the humans dark magic was not necessarily out of compassion or hopes to even the playing field, but to rather give the finger to the cosmic order to prove that he could. Leola’s death was the catalyst to the whole cycle of abuse between humans and Xadia that even exists in modern day. He has meddled in Xadia history so much he might as well be Xadia’s history. Aaravos seems like he’s just been playing the thousand year long game to taunt Sol regiem as he dies as well as destroy any threats in Xadia. Plus, resurrecting a star touch might require more magic and ingredients then regular resurrection. His final goal could just be the death the destruction of the council and Aaravos had to choose his pawns carefully as he was imprisoned in the middle of his plan. His own self fulfilling prophecy. I do think the unicorn thing affecting both elves and humans was an astute observation on your part. I liked reading your comment

I have a feeling that Callum and Aaravos are the key to "fixing" the world, and either path they tale Aaravos, someone too evil too far gone to be redeemed and taken down, or reminded of who his daughter called her father and how he has changed, in the end his goal might be a noble one and either by necessity or he would ask of him, Callum would replace the man Aaravos used to be before, a master of all magics, curious and fascinated with the mortal world and full of compassion. Thats where I imagine the story is heading, at least when it comes to the grand picture. A story started by an eternal master of all magics, finished by a human, the people he tried so hard to empower for so long.

Aaravos was an Archmage of Xadia. So powerful and so wise, he could merge the magic of certain Primal Sources to create, life.
@thetruekingofwaffles3 ай бұрын
Honestly, he probably could. That might be how he actually made Leola. If ir sparklepuff was made in a dark ritual using Dark Magic and Viren's blood, then matured using a ray of sunlight and dark magic, then I think it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Aaravos could've created Leola using love instead maybe forming her constellation physically near his, potentially using some of his own stars to make her creating a Familial connection in a biological sense, or he could've made the stars using sun magic potentially since we see that Claudia's stuff uses sun magic and has a mini sun, by mixing both primal sources I could see him assembling the stars in the Heaven's, then maybe using Earth to tether her, sky to breathe life, moon/sun to create her soul and stars for the stardust and binding everything together with love. Maybe he took another stsrtouch elves stars too for a mother it could've been a constellation comprised of multiple entities. That would arguably make him the most powerful Archmage to live and would explain why Starcouch elves aren't born very often. Maybe since star magic and love can bind things together, dark magic is primarily based on a corrupted form of that since it often seems to be unraveling something. With how powerful Aaravos is I can only fathom how busted Leola would've been if she were allowed to live to the current era, she would probably be at her prime and she was easily creating primal stones at her earliest days. I'd say that I wouldn't be surprised if Prime Leola was like Claudia and surpassed her father magically in some ways though I wonder why her amd the merciful one already had the arc going inverted on their symbol? Maybe it's dimorphism, maybe not, although it seems most likely since they were both women, and we haven't had any male Stsrtouch elves to compare them to unless Aaravos is just built differently Maybe empathy is what separated him from the other great ones and gave him the potential to connect to other Arcanums and creatures. He had the knowledge and the love required to learn the other arcanums.

You might be right. I got caught up in the unrepentant, self-righteous evil of the Cosmic Order but it's possible that Aaravos was omitting key details and context. It's completely in character for him to do so.

@@kashroyalroyal7053 I totally understand their reaction. I had the same one and was sobbing when Leola died. However, we need to step back from the emotional impact and look at this pragmatically. One random idea that popped into my head while brushing my teeth one night: What if Leola will be reborn/reawaken in some way within Callum? There were a lot of talk in season 6 about how everyone & everything in Xadia are made of stardust, even Damian tells that to his Callum before passing away. Perhaps when Leola turned back into stardust, all that dust then spread out and became part of the DNA of different humans (especially if they lived by the Sea of the Castout, by eating the fish and other things in it) that then gets passed on to their children. And then over many generations, with Sarai having one half of the stardust and Damian having the rest, all that stardusted DNA is finally gathered into one being again when they had Callum. Maybe that could be a reason why Callum is the first human being able to connect with primal magic without a primal stone, because it's part of his DNA. And if you think about it, that also explains why his half-brother Ezran, who has Sarai's stardusted DNA, can talk to animals and being able to create a telepathic bond with Zym; which has not really been explained in the show yet. So perhaps that's why Aaravos hasn't possessed Callum that much yet, despite him saying that Callum will play into his hands in s.4 and the creators making a drawing of Aaravos with a Callum-puppet (besides, Aaravos could have easily possessed Callum into bringing the pearl back Claudia who has the staff with the Quasar Diamond in it). Because he wants Callum to be as "intact" as possible, since using dark magic slowly drains your life force and so Aaravos manipulated Viren & Claudia to help him as they are disposable pawns to him, and planned for Callum to get purified at the Star Scraper so he can then connect better with other primal sources and then "reawaken" so to speak. This idea might just be a bit farfetched and perhaps doesn't have any logic behind where I might have missed or forgotten something, but I had to share it anyway! XD

Given that they do not come from Xadia but from the cosmos itself Star Touched Elves may not have family structure as we do. They could well be formed over time by the stardust in the universe not exactly having parents, but older Star Touched Elves adopting younger ones, Leola may not even has a mother, if you consider how rare they are such a connection would still be extremely strong.

I actually brought this up another video Edit:I wonder if star touch elves reproduce Asexual? If he had a wife to create his child, why not mention her in a flash back? We're created by" star dust held by love instant." Might also mean star touch use magic to create one another or the universe naturally creates them over a certain period of time.

@basiaduda36462 күн бұрын
OMG hear me out. After reading the comments, watching the video I noticed this small but HUGE detail. People have theories on how Leola was born. Mixed with humans, made from magic and love, or born from stars of another "parentage" elf. If you notice on the constellation image, all beings have clear dots with lines indicating stars and forming constellations. If you look at Leola, she is a single star she holds in her hands. That theory might make sense, Aaravos gave one of his stars to create her. Thats why she cant be reborn and why she was a different, 1 horned elf - she was a single star. ALSO if you compare the constellations at the very beggining of the video 0:09 - where you see Leola constellation and then look at 1:33 - we see Aaravos constellation. THEY ARE IN THE SAME PLACE AMONG OTHER STARS look at the placement of other beings, the unicorn ,tree etc. Also is it a coincidence that Leola star has this big 4 armed star image surrounding it, the very similar one Aaravos has on his chest. Coincidence, I believe not

Me too. Admittedly I thought the angle they were going to go for was much more of a "Aaravos got too powerful, and some or other elf council imprisoned him because they were afraid that he could turn evil." Than that of a grieving father. Although given his backstory, I feel like it's kinda odd how he encouraged Viren to rope Claudia into things. You'd think if anything that he'd be the one to leave her alone

Hey , I'm no expert on the shows lore or anything but can I just point out two things that prove to me that "the Merciful one" is merciful, cause I've seen too many yt channels refer to them as not. A, no parent should have to outlive their children, offering aravos the option of dying with his daughter, is merciful, if you can't see that, I feel sorry for you, cause he exists forever, meaning he has to carry that pain forever. B, if we assume they were the ones to suggest the exile of humans we can safely assume the alternative was the extermination of the humans, so again, merciful. That being said, we've seen the Merciful One take a female form when talking to Araavos and in the statues and the Star-Touched Elf in the opening who banishes the humans seems male, so, ... probably not the same and it doesn't seem like it would be Aravos either. Although this is speculation as we do not have much of a timeline, all we know is that Aravos was probably imprisoned after the blinding of Sol-Regem and the destruction of Avalon or whatever that human city was called.

He probably thought he could bring her back, like Aaravous was shown to know how to bring people back from the dead but if the Star Elves kill Aaravous daughter in a way to not be able to bring her back then it would lead to his despair and eventually desire for revenge.
@melissasawicki89895 ай бұрын
@Underworlddream right but when they killed her they destroyed her star from the heavens towards the earth and Arravos spent years getting revenge on both dragons and humans for.what had transpired with his daughter. But what we know is recarnation, it could be revealed that she would've been reborn as a human or a different kind of elf and if that was possible Arravos could've (if he chose to die with his daughter) do a spell that would have the same kind of effect their immortal bodies and stars destroyed but their souls of their immortal selves could bee reborn into different bodies yet they could still remember each other, they are calling arravos a arch mage so whose to say he doesn't know spells he could've done
@lonerider41645 ай бұрын
@@melissasawicki8989 Your comment brings up a theory I've had since the season 6 finale; what if Leola's reborn "soul" is Claudia? Granted, this is a stretch because I'm basing this on face-value similarities between the two (both ranging on the Autistic spectrum, Claudia's earlier seasons' designs and Leola's design featuring an under-layer of purple hair, and both's obsession to keep their family together). If she is a human reincarnation of Leola, Claudia's deep rooted fear of everyone she loves eventually leaving her may be the carried over trauma of the First Elves exiling her from a plane of existence away from her father? What if Claudia is just one of many in a long line of human reincarnations of Leola, explaining Aaravos' deep interest and investment in humans?
@melissasawicki89895 ай бұрын
@lonerider4164 that could be one or what is Leola was reborn as Ezran or that orphan queen who was confused on ringing everyone together arravos did say that leola wanted to befriend everyone animals humans elves alike and that's what Ezran was or that orphan queen could've been to normal reborns could take a while but I'm guessing that Star touched elves if they can be reborn would take longe then a humans so what if leola is ezran reincarnated. They do have similar behaviors and the same goals. But I know ezran is a long stretch so my guess is leopma was the orphan queen but since some say reincarnation people don't remember their past lives the name arravos never rung a bell so she never knew that the elf being responsible for crimes is her father. Plus she did habe contact with the cube the very same one arravos had like I said ezran or the orphan queen could be a recarnation of Leola
