He was playing in New Orleans several years ago and the morning of the show he was stepping off his tour bus as we were walking by. We followed him around the French Quarter for a little while and watched him stop to jam with some of the street musicians. Leon was a true one of a kind, musical genus. His music will live on. RIP Leon

I am 53 years young and Leon was my very first concert when I was 15 in the early 1970's. I saw him at Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County, California when the parking was 75 cents! I still have the stub in my scrap book! I'll never forget how amazing he was and still is! Way to go Leon! We love you!

I believe the tickets for his show in the early 70's were about $5.50/$6 each, that was the U of D (Detroit) Arena.

My Cricket is my favorite Leon Russell song. I saw him at the IU Auditorium in the mid 70's and was ready to run away with him. Congrats on the hall of fame buddy you deserved that and more. Best wishes and prayers

Always loved the original song, but have this one on my favorites, I'm watching it the other night to see willie play guitar, and they dont show much, but listening to it , it's all bass and acoustic, and it is FINE. THAT WAS JUST WILLIE AND LEON. I THINK I LIKE THIS MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL, AND I LOVED THAT ONE. THIS RECORDING IS GOLD.

When I enlisted in the USAF in 1975, I went to a chapel program where at the end of the service the Commander of US Air Force, Air Training Command at that time, Lt. General John P. Flynn, gave a talk. He had been the highest ranking officer taken prisoner in North Viet Nam. He said that what he focused on to keep himself alive in solitary confinement was his pet cricket that lived in the cell with him. This song had already been a favorite of mine and it seemed almost prophetic.
