Nice to see the man who actually laid the original rhythm guitar track, RAY PARKER, JR.!

To have been able to tell Leon Ware personally what my favorite song ever, I WANT YOU, has meant to me, was one of the highlights of my life. When I see T-BOY in Heaven, I will pay him the same courtesy.

Leon Ware has a lot of great music that only true lovers of old-school soul really know about, and maybe Marvin Gaye fans who has the "I Want You" album. But for y'all new old-schoolers he also helped write and produce Maxwell's "Urban Hang Suite". Since you are here on youtube check him out!

Leon Ware. Too bad Motown passed him by. Fantastic composer. Great musicianship. RIP.

Motown didn't pass him by, Bro. They released his album 'Musical Massage.' It contains the original version of what became "Come Live With Me, Angel", called "Comfort."

He did receive alot of royalties. That business is complicated. There are very talented people, who just never get the limelight.
@jeremyjeanguenin1622 жыл бұрын
@@brotherfugue I know, it's one of my favorite records. But I keep thinking he expected to be more a performer than a composer for other people. Maybe I am wrong...

Who is actually the owner of that Painting "Sugar Shack" It has always been a favourite of mine. A nice copy would do as it is most likely too expensive for me. Love Ernie Barnes's work and of course Marvin Gaye and Leon Ware.

Hello 6 years later. No doubt Marvin was amazing, but don't forget that Leon also produced the album and wrote arrangements for the album. In fact, Leon is credited as a co-writer on ALL the songs on the album. And Leon was no slouch as a singer/performer either if you check out his own albums like Musical Massage. Much respect to both of these great artists!
