Well, with the Freljord now having Aurora, Targon is the new region that hasn't had a new champion the longest, to my knowledge. As for Leona, I feel as though she would be the type to lead the frontlines while also being the paragon of the Solari faith: she should follow the paladin archetype; armored priestess with flowing fabrics emulating the sun's rays (heatwaves).

IIRC The murders were done by the Lunari (and possibly Aphelios) because after Leona and Diana descended the mountain Diana went into hiding so the Lunari believed the Solari had kidnapped her

Story idea to continue Leona and Diana's relationship (that may contradict with canon lore, as I have not read as much): Make both the Solari and Lunari possess negative qualities that arise from their traditional lifestyle (Solari are very zealous and orderly, whilst Lunari are more secretive and cold-hearted), with Diana being the exception, representing new ideals having been a former Solari turned Lunari that wishes to bring the two tribes together. With most Lunari being devoted to following Diana, still within their traditional values (which could lead to murdering Solari *ahem* Aphelios), Diana must appeal to the Solari to show that they can be connected if they set aside their traditional differences. But who can Diana rely on that is a Solari she has not angered due to her inquisitive nature? The one who joined her in ascending Mount Targon, whom believes solely on the ideals and tenets that the Solari worship, whom will be very difficult to break out from such laws as its number one enforcer and star student... Leona (of course, this is just an idea and me rambling about what could be but mostly likely won't :D)

Mechanically I really like Leona (less so storywise). She was the very first champion I mained and even to this day she has more games played than anyone else. She's just a comfortable blanket to wrap up in, ping ENGAGE and 'Fuck it! We Brawl!'. Nowadays though I'm all about the Nauty boi.

9:40 friendly reminder, Leona used to hit far more damage on basics alone compared to Skarner before his VGU. How tables have turned..... Leona SHOULD be an interesting character, her lore and story with Diana is great, but her design still screams "play now my lord!" like those weird ads from those cheap MMOs from back in the day. If someone is gonna get an ASU after Teemo, it should be her. Her armor needs to reflect more her position as the literal sun godess. Also YIPEE THE DEER IS NEXT!!!!

As a Leona one trick, I am so grateful that you lead me to discover joofoot's redesign. I would love for her to receive one in the future but even if it's a stretch (since there are other champions who desperately need it more), I would like to at least have a rework on her animations. It feels so bad to have good looking skins just for her auto attack to look like it came straight out of runescape. I don't think I should be forced to buy a Legenday to have this fixed.

Why would Leona have muscle definition? Nothing in her lore would suggest that she should. Leona is the Host of the Aspect of the Sun. Her strength comes from her Aspect's blessing. She doesn't need muscles to be strong. And keep in mind, Leona is not a soldier. This happened when she and Diana were students.

She has big muscles." But since she DOESN'T have defined muscles, you instead think, "Hmm, there must be something SPECIAL about her." Y'know, no one makes a big deal that tiny Poppy wields a huge hammer. "That's because Poppy is magic." Yes, exactly! Leona is magic, too. The answer to the question, "What makes Leona so strong?" shouldn't be "Muscles". That's terribly bland and not unique at all. It should be, "She is the Host of the Aspect of the Sun." THAT is what her character is.

If I would redesign Leona, I would keep the Solari symbols on her sword and shield only, maybe the headdress as well, increase the amount of armor while still having her feminine form a bit visible and give her some cloth, probably substituting that weird metal "tail" thing. Leona "basis" is strong if you ask me, just the execution was the typical "X costume, but woman and sexy". I like my tanks to show that they can take a hit like, Braum, but in Leona case, I would not go into a bulky body route, but a bulky armor like her Eclipse skinline.

League was definitely different back then. people actually followed up when you landed E and didn't just leave you to die. I played Leona for a LONG time, but I eventually dropped fee for the most part. Her tankyness is too reliant on the enemies having AD (almost like rammus) and with so many mages bot lane her viability just isn’t there anymore. Her CC is good but also gets outclassed by other supports that have way more disengage/actual support abilities (kench, braum, nautilus). She’s too much risk for too little reward most of the time. On the design front she’s also kind of boring and cheesy, basically every other support is cooler
