Not surprising. I really like it when TV shows and movies do that. One of my favorites is in ‘Free Guy’ when Guy gets the sunglasses from the bank robber, and they cut to the two girls doing the mission; those two kids are the director’s daughters. My favorite line in the whole movie is by one of the girls too, ‘He’s just an NPC, waste that motherf--.’ As a huge GTA fan, I laughed when she said that. That one line is GTA in a nutshell.

You're making the assumption that she immediately went back to her apt. How do you know she didn't wait on the roof or sit on the stairs or go down to the lobby or laundry room for a few minutes? And if you want to nitpick she wasn't wearing a purse or carrying keys so unless she had a credit card in her pocket and walked to a corner convenience store her whole story fails.
