These guys are awesome. I was fortunate enough to do a ride along with Trooper 2 back in 2021 and that one 12-hour shift motivated me to change my entire career path. I got my paramedic a couple years later and now I'm on the path to becoming a flight medic in the army national guard. I have these guys to thank for giving me that experience and helping motivate me to do more with my life.

Awesome video. Having just spent three weeks on the 8th floor of a hospital. with the helipads directly above on the 9th floor, and hearing and seeing them come and go daily, this has special meaning to me. My hat is off to all the aircrews worldwide who work in this field. God bless you all!

I may have missed it in the video. But just in case it wasn't brought up, all patient flyouts by MSP are completely free of charge to the patient.

139 is one of my favorite. Powerful and comfortable. We used 139’s when I worked in the western GOM. 1hr 30min flights. Now I fly on the 189 99% of the time and I miss the 139 so much smoother.

Pretty sure these guys were the first air unit on the scene of the Key Bridge collapse too. They're the best of the best and have made me proud to be a Marylander ever since I was a kid. I'm 20 minutes from Martin's so they fly over my house all the time. Awesome birds; sure do miss the sound of those Dauphins though!

You're correct. Baltimore City FoxTrot was out of service, so they were the first helo on scene that night.

They run an awesome service. They respond to any "officer down" call anywhere within MD and also parts of WV, and PA. Troop 5(Cumberland) is actually based at a small airport in WV. Upgrading to these AW139's made a huge difference. They provide so much training to local services, I don't know what we would do without them. If I'm not mistaken, they are funded by a $1 or $2 fee when you register your car. It might have gone up, but that was a great idea. Stay safe bro.

Isn’t Trooper 5 actually based out of Wiley Ford, WV?
@joebeach77598 ай бұрын
@S.W633 Thank you, you are correct. Couldn't think of the airport. It usually shows up as Cumberland as it's area and west to the border and east to Hancock. I think Trooper 3 or 4 in Frederick picks it up from there.

Actually a bit higher. Vehicle registration fee surcharge is 14.50 annual on vehicle registrations. There is also a surcharge on certain moving violations.

Thank you for showing this Police perspective of Flight Medics. What a great combination of people who enjoy what they do and legitimately want to save lives. I’ve been in LE for 25 years. It would have been an honor to work as a flight medic or along side them if my state provided that service. Great videos, thank you.👍

A lot of people question the cost. But when you have the absolute best of everything, that has to be cost effective in itself at some point. If you are going to get hurt someplace, this would be the place to do it. From the firefighters and paramedics, the MSP and the level 1 centers throughout the state, including Shock-Trauma at the University of Maryland, you chances are probably better than a lot if other states
@OrioleBeagle2 ай бұрын
Accident victims in other parts of the country get bills for thousands of dollars that their insurance companies often don't want to pay. We are fortunate in Maryland that we get these services for free.

Trooper 6 rattles my roof every time they return from Shock Trauma to their base a few miles from here. Love seeing them fly over and often Trooper 4. I’m amazed at how many patients are flown to Shock Trauma by all the heli services. ST looks like it needs a conveyor belt on the roof at times.

MSP went to the 2 pilot system and upgraded the helicopters, and crews, shortly after the 2008 fatal crash of “Trooper 2” during a MedEvac in bad weather. There are some parts of rural Maryland, where the Trooper is the first arriving ALS provider

Loved this video and the channel in general keep up the great work🇺🇸⭐️ I really appreciate all the content. Have you done the Trooper two accident video yet? Also, have you ever done a video on the memorial Hermann Life Flight program in Houston Texas? If not, would you consider doing one when and if you have time? Thanks again!

Cool video and chopper. They desperately needed to replace the dauphine fleet they were flying. My old man was flown to shock trauma in the old Trooper 7 and talks about how much of a rattletrap that thing felt like in flight. He knows whats up after being a navy test pilot for 28 years. That absolutely is a simulator, just not a full-motion one. THe first navy sims I flew were stationary.

First video of yours I ever watched. I’m curious why so little time was spent actually showing interior video shots? The majority of the video was you talking into the camera. I’m not a flight paramedic I’m a trauma surgeon, & would get the call if a on site surgeon was needed. I was far more interested in seeing a demo of the workspace being adjusted, etc. If you are a 1 man show I understand that can be very difficult, but B roll edited into your video would’ve been great. Thanks for the video!

love these Helicopters. New Jersey State Police use these helicopters for their aviation operations. they do the same missions as Maryland. the only difference is the crew setup. where in Maryland the pilots are civilians and the Troopers are the medical personnel. New Jersey the pilots are State Troopers who carry firearms, while the medical staff which consists of a Flight Paramedic and Flight Critical Care Nurse are civilian personnel who are affiliated with the State owned University Medical Center. and if they need to do any sort of hoist operation they will pick up members of the Special Operations Unit to assist with the hoist
