I always thought edmonton and the praries sucked. I bashed cities like calgary and edmonton for years and now i deeply regret it. Ive been living in vancouver mostly and other cities overseas and im telling you the time you spend in horrific traffic is not worth it. I miss alberta prices, people, real estate, and our traffic. Alberta traffic is a dream and right now driving in bc is pure hell l😂. I hope more of canada starts moving to middle canada. Canadians need more options other than over priced, over rated, over crowded toronto and vancouver. Thanks

I'm from Florida, been thinking about moving to Canada for many years. I'm gonna start my passport process and hopefully plan a trip in a few months or by summer to start looking for a new city/country to call home. Ur so right. As someone who lived there thier whole lives. It sucks. It’s so bland. West Edmonton mall isn’t cool anymore. You can’t go anywhere in winter. Everything is expensive. Houses are expensive. Cars are expensive. There is no where nice to eat despite a few places such as 3 amigos. Definitely recommend that.

Really??? I have lived all over Canada, Thailand, Vietnam Cambodia etc. Edmonton is by far one of the worst cities I have ever lived, only upside is the cost & even then there are many cities in the Okanagan valley in BC that are even cheaper then Edmonton. Having to move to Edmonton from Victoria BC, I cannot wait to leave! The city has no culture & is dead 8 months out of the year due to the harsh winters. For me personally I have a deep hatred for this city lol. Not to mention the crime is completely rampant, I had a dude gunned down by an automatic smg literally a block from my house lol, and I don't particularly live in a bad area. PS if you plan to move to Alberta please look into Calgary first!!!

Im from born and raised Calgary and moved to Edmonton on my own at 21. I love it a ton, way more than Calgary. The infastructure may not be as up to date in comparison, but they're catching up here and fast. I actually feel a sense of culture, belonging and welcoming here, where in Calgary I just felt like another person roaming busy streets. Sure the winters last quite a long time in comparison to Victoria, but if you embrace winter it can chage your perspective on it. I do trails in the valley even in that one week its -40, but if you like nature like I do, being in the Valley provides that sense of feeling like youre in the middle of no where, in the middle of a city. Plus the Winter City strategy lets me have fun with winter also! The city has some things to improve on. As far as cities in Alberta, Calgary is nice but, Edmonton > Calgary every single day.

Yup worst city I've lived there for a bit you can make a list of things to do and you will run out of them.the city has no soul. Very dated looking buildings and infrastructure.they always cheap out on things.cold and lots of photo radar. Down town is not safe after 8pm. China down looks disgusting like you might catch some diseases. The river valley is muddy and smells like shit.the festivals are mediocre.
