Fantastic. Using the arpeggiator with start-point motion will really increase the potential I think!

Not having an ESX anymore, I hadn't been around much on the video scene.. These are the best wavs/oscs I've heard for this machine.

Very good use of the ESX's features!!

Just got a ES2. Now I want an SX... Those LFOs...

Man that was very creative sampling and resampling.. i have and emx1 but i think most people that have an esx dont use these functions.THis proves how much more fun hardware is. and to create your own unique sounds instead of like you said using ready made ones.well done.

Thanks, it's so much fun tinkering around with electribe features. The freedom of limitation is superfun.

leondustar I want to ask you something . I have the emx1 and want to get a sampler. should I go for the volca sample? or this for extra cash? or do you have something else to suggest.?
@leondustar8 жыл бұрын
Well both are excellent choices. I guess the volca is great as an emx1 extension. I guess the ESX will require more time to tap into its capabilities. (The volca is easier to manage/upload samples using mobile phone I've hear, but I've never tried).

very clever work... I've been stuck thinking of my ESX in terms of short samples... and this got me rethinking in terms of "windowing" long sounds with the Start-time knob... Bravo !
@leondustar10 жыл бұрын
agreed. Interestingly enough, I find myself getting more variations out of one pattern by simply merging samples together and 'swapping' samples using the startposition-parameter.

amazing!! im crazy with one sample and slice alll!! is amazing!!

How did you make it so on your esx file, start point is actually controlling slice changes? Just confirming you are able to record the automation changes from the slicing changes?
@leondustar9 жыл бұрын
+@basedvato in this tutorial the start-point is not controlling slice changes. Because the sample is quite short and doesn't contain too much silence, recording start-position automation changes will generate interesting result pretty easily.

+leondustar also remember the re-sampled sample contains bpm-linked lfo-modulated audio. Replaying audio with different startpoints will still kindof sound ok when the bpm stays the same.

Are those custom knobs? They look real nice.
@leondustar10 жыл бұрын
They're from a INKEL mixer iirc. Probably on ebay you could also find alternative knobs: www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Replacement-Control-Knob-Buying-Guide-/10000000178843211/g.html

Unfortunately not. I had these knobs laying around for years, they belong to an Inkel mixer from the early nineties.

I need some help, please. I just purchased the Korg SX on ebay, (same as in this video) and it arrived with no patterns and I can not get the Effect to work, nor the Arpeggiator. However, I do have the 140 sample sounds and all of the other systems work, such as modulation, pitch, filter, etc. Am I doing something wrong? I also have the Electribe 2 and it seems more user friendly, that's just me. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to believe that it was sold defective, perhaps it is just user error. Also, I have two smart cards and not sure how to make esx files, I thought I could just use a standard wav file to sample.

Hi. Im not sure which question you want to focus on first. Let me know and me (or other people here) can help you. However, I highly suggest you to post your questions to korgforums.com
