I love it! I was just wishing pastel could go with my new luminance pencils! Or is polychromos better because its oil based?

In the event you are not aware, pastel can be almost completely removed (as on the edge of the wolf’s shoulder) with a cotton swab and a little water. Once dried, a new layer can be applied. This _only_ works with _Clairefontaine’s Pastelmat_ cards or paper. It will _not_ work on other “sanded” surfaces. Too, pastel will not permanently adhere to the surface when applied over the top of thicker colored pencil lines, even on Pastelmat. I hope that helps. This is a great picture, by the way! Thanks for sharing your talent.

Hi Leontine It is so stunning, you are getting better and better. I also tried this technique but I failed. Probably I put too much pastel on it, the surface was saturated too quickly. But I will try it again. Your drawing is so motivating

Your work is beautiful! I have just bought a small tin of 12 pit pastell and i'm going to try and mix those 2 mediums together. Thank you for this video, your wolf is superb! You are very talented! The only thing i would suggest when videoing is that you move the microphone as when you are not talking you can hear you breathing heavily. Not a negative, just a suggestion for future videos 😊 love your work!

I have just discovered your excellent video and I have a question for you : why do you use color pencils over pastel pencils instead of using only pastel pencils ? Would it be because it is easier to sharpen color pencils and therefore to get thiner lines which is very important for an animal fur ? Thank you for your precisions and have a nice day !

Yes they are definitely quicker! Does depend a bit on how much detail you want of course but the layering process is quicker:)

What sharpner do you use to sharpen your pastel pencils? I recently bought a derwent sharpner, a simple one, it turned out really good, but with my carbothelo's, but it doesn't work with my koh-i-noors at all. Great video, anyway! Thanks!

Thank you!! Oh that's a tough one, because every horse or dog is different and I tend to use many different colors in each drawing. But, the easiest would be to get started with black, white and grey tones. In grey scale you can draw every animal realistically and get used to pastel pencils at the same time:)

Look, I'm an artist too, just like her. I'll explain to you since no one wants to. Choose whatever you want and whatever makes you more comfortable, I cannot tell you what to choose and what to do. So.... Do whatever you feel comfortable with. This is how artists find their art Style too!
