I wouldn’t mind it at all if JOYO released a big boy amp with all of their Bantamp circuits built in as separate channels.

They make a mjolnor and all of these amp models are available as cheap pedals. So you could still do that ...but these amps are so cheap it's easy to just buy a few of them. I have the tweedy and this one. Imo the two best ones. Cover a lot of ground

This is the kind of demo I have been waiting for. It seems that most of the guys who demo budget gear generally can’t play very well, can’t tell when they’re out of tune, or play in drop B with the gain cranked to the point where the sound of the amp is almost meaningless. Thanks for doing this one some justice!!

What's really impressive to me is that not only does it sound great, it does equally well with single coils and humbuckers. Some great engineering there.

The Blue Jay is just astonishing, I use it as a replacement for my damaged Revv D20 (approx. 13x as expensive where I am) as a pedal platform amp - and it sounds better. Sure it does not have the Two Notes stuff built-in, but you can easily go from the headphone out into a DAW and load IRs there.

It's got an FX loop too! Easy way to get a 20W class D power amp, with a preamp as a bonus. Two of these, maybe different flavours, could share a stereo delay and then each feed a cab and you have a great stereo rig! That would be my use case.

I play on this amp all the time to save the tubes on my Marshall DSL100. I run my pedals before and after my TONEX , and then to its return, then mic it to my Zoom L-20 mixer. I can also go direct to the mixer, but for some reason I like the SM57 micing the cab better. Ive not played on the other BanTamps yet,. but this one kills.

I have the first version of jackman. Playing home with 1x12 I feel it's a little too "big sounding" (an eq pedal can help with that) but when I plugged it into a marshall 4x12 with Marshall G12 Vintage speakers, this thing came alive and started sounding pretty damn good for its size and the pricetag. Much bigger sounding thing than most of us expect, I suspect. It really fills the 4x12 size in sound. Also it works well as a small poweramp for modelers so double the fun with that

6:24 Leon: "Something that small and that inexpensive really has no right..." Me: "...to exist?" Leon: "...to sound that good." Oh yeah, that too. :) This seems ideal for a recent need of mine. My little Peavey Solo 8" from the late 80s/early 90s developed a grounding issue and I was looking for a replacement small amp. Most of the limited old-school two channel practice amps don't seem worth the cost anymore in the world of digital modeling, and you often have to factor in the cost of a boost pedal to go with the practice amp. Do you spend a lot on separate parts to make a cheaper model work, or just buy a higher end model with more features? One can try the little 9 volt powered units. But the tiny plastic combos can vibrate when the amp is cranked. They can sound like you are playing through an AM radio. They're more toys than amps, really. So, I was torn between going with a high end Boss Katana or just spending on a full blown Axe FX III rig in my rack and using it as both a live and practice rig. The Katana seemed expensive for what one gets and like a dead end upgrade trail. The Axe FX III (or any of the others used) when combined with a quality power amp like a Seymour Duncan Power Stage 700, FRFR speaker, and any other gear like power conditioners seemed a bit much in terms of expense. Then I see this. For practicing on my kitchen countertop and testing pickup installations, this seems ideal. I hope they can develop a unit with its own speaker that does not buzz in the housing. Even with a small speaker or two added onto the bottom it would not make the unit large. This amp seemed to really work well with the Strat over humbucker guitars, which Leon demonstrated with some Knopfler-esque chops on the Strat. Lots of great in between sounds on the single coils, whereas the high gain humbucking tone seemed to struggle a bit and be slightly woofy on the lows even with a boost. The only downside to a little rig like this is if one plays with a lot of effects you'll need a separate unit, whereas effects are integrated with the Katanas, especially the higher end ones. Overall, I may just pick this one up. It's a worthy competitor to the lower end Katanas and Yamaha THR line. Even then, the in between crunch sounds it gets out of a Strat make it an inexpensive and really useful and musical studio tool. It brings a lot of the Sansamp stuff to mind as far as tonal flexibility and portability. Thanks, Leon.

The Tweedy Bantamp is impressive, sounds great on both channels and has the voice knob borrowed from the American Sound pedal which can move the mids and gain dramatically. In fact if they offered a similar amp based on the AC Tone, at a higher price point than their current Atomic amp, I’d be all over it.

@@philgraves4998 Yup, I’m definitely going to pick another one up. My favorite EVH tone, by far, is Fair Warning. And, they did come out with a 30watt version, but from what I’ve seen, they don’t have those killer tones from the “X” version (which is the only reason I use it), or I’d have bought it by now. I have the Zombie. I use it with a modeller with a split after the amp model into the fx loop return of the Joyo clean channel into a 1x12 GB, then I have xlr out of modeller to FOH with a similair speaker/cab impulse. The consistency between the signals is amazing, it gives me a massive guitar sound on stage with a little bit of the signal in the monitor. Couldn’t be happier. I recommend everyone try these out. You would spend more on a gain pedal, right?

I own this one, and also the Meteor in same trim. I wouldn't mind a bantamp with their "____ sound" series stack as a third, separate high gain channel, like a three channel amp with higher wattage, say 40 watts; I'd honestly be happy with a redundant power amp that just outputs the same values as the BaDass Bantamp (50 watts at 4 ohms, 25 at 8 ohms) twice, lol. For example with the Jackman, it would come with with the same clean and distortion channels as the Bantamp or Bantamp II XL, but it would have a third channel that is essentially the clean channel, but with the British Sound pedal permanently in the circuit. I would gladly sacrifice separate tone and volume controls for the first two channels, and/or making it so that you have to choose between the two bantamp channels with a switch on the amp and the foot switch only switches from that to the third channel, if it means having the full 3 band EQ and voice knob for that third channel. I have the Meteor II XL, and an Oxford Sound, and I always wish I could have the oxford sound as a third channel, and that it had more power. I also own an Orange Super Crush, and running the Oxford Sound into the clean channel on that, or the clean channel on the Meteor II XL, sounds almost as good as the Super Crush amp's own distortion, and when I record, I often double track that way, putting the Super Crush's distortion on one side, and the Oxford Sound through the clean channel on the other. TBH I might just run the Oxford into the clean channel on the Jackman and run them in parallel.

I bought a Zombie from a friend for about $50. Seriously, best 50 bucks ever 😂. Boosted through a good 2x12 or 4x12, it is absolutely incredible. I started taking it to jams over my Rockerverb because it's way lighter and easier to bring along. With that said, it doesn't quite have the 3D tone and headroom as a big tube amp, but with that much low end and punch it's crazy for a small amp.

I had both versions of this little amp . They are cool but they never impressed me tone wise . You make it sound great somehow but ultimately my fun with it wore out fast. Certainly great for a backup amp or practice amp with pedals . That overdrive channel is pretty weak and uninspiring although you somehow made it great ! The most impressive thing to me on these amps is the volume . Other than that it’s really a simple no nonsense kind of amp. Definitely worth 200 bucks but no much more than that .

This is probably the best 'clone' Joyo has done. But then if you cant ape a Marshall, you probably have no business selling amps. The best in this series is probably the Meteor. Not because it copies anything well, but just because its good. I have the Zombie II and if you want gain, its pretty good, but the clean channel is lifeless. It definitely doesn't sound like a dual rec, but at low volume it does sound pretty similar to a Mk II. The key to these amps is low volume. Once you crank it high enough to overpower the preamp, it just flattens out and sounds like a typical solid state with a pedal. But, below about 9 o'clock on the volume, these amps perform surprisingly similar to glass.
