This is like watching those Bob Ross painting videos. Happy little wah here, and lets put a nice bit of reverb here.... good shit.

Leon. Great stuff. I can't really justify an AxeFx yet, but man do you make me want to go in debt. 😂😂 You get the best tones and have the best tutorials for it my friend. Very cool and great tone. I still think I will try the new ADA rack effects that's now in pedal format first. Man, if you can ever do a shoot out that would be killer. 👍 I realize you're busy and have enough to do, but I think that the ADA has to be one of the best rack preamps ever designed. To me at least, and to a lot of late 80s and early 90s bands and guitarists extrodinares. 😂👍
@LeonTodd5 жыл бұрын
I always have time for ADA :D
@hoosierdaddy23085 жыл бұрын
@@LeonTodd That would be too cool kind sir. 👍💝👍💝👍 If it sounds as good as the 80s rack I will have to buy one as well as their cab sim pedal, or some cab sim pedal too. I'm trying to set up a recording at home / giging direct to FOH and / or FOH and Cab solution.. Something that will allow me to kill several birds with one stone. Criteria are it must sound good above all, must be portable, must be all analogue if possible even though I have nothing against digital per sey, but I feel they have better touch response in my experience. This will allow me to start my own YT channel as well. 😀 I think the channel will be dedicated to 80s guitar since I lived and played thru that time and still feel it was by far the best time for taking guitar tones and playing to a level never equaled really as I think you would agree, and I think I have some interesting stories about all the killer bands I saw back then and studied. I watched, listened, and even would talk to sound engineers, etc about the equipment used with the bands at times. It was so interesting for a nerd like me and I learned so much. Some was even funny like seeing bands with amps stacked up and turned on, but not really plugged in, and a small 2 x 12 combo being used of some amp you would never think was being used. Just so interesting. 👍👍👍

I misread the title as Plexi 6505 and I was waiting for some unholy combination of amplifiers, until I finally remembered that the 6550 is a tube (which is sad because I have a pile of them in my DIY box). Still, really awesome tones. It sounded maybe a little bit gritty perhaps but in a mix or live I bet it would slay.

Cool video and great tones. I was wondering if it wouldn't be too much trouble to edit-in a sample with the stock settings once you've finished tweaking the tone for a direct 'before and after' comparison? (Maybe publishing time stamps in the description would do the trick?)

Hello! I’ve been watching this vid and since I’m brand new to the AXE FX III, I’m trying to figure out why, for example, at 0:28 you have a Plexiglass 50W 6550 at number 177 but I don’t! I’ve got “Satan’s Hollow (Em)” in that spot. When I type it in the search engine, nothing comes up! I’m SURE I just don’t understand how to properly update this thing and/or “Axe Edit III” because I’ve just tried to do both and still don’t have the same options. What have I done or not done?
@jhonackerman96245 жыл бұрын
HEY! I am gonna leave my embarrassing question up here, just in case anybody ever has the same one. I was looking in the WRONG MENU!!! Leon’s Plexi 50W 6550 was found in the “Type” menu that pops up after clicking on the “Amp” icon in the list of ingredients . . . .You’ll see it on the left side. I’m so new to this that I totally blew it. It’s okay though. I got it now. Thanks LT.

I'd love to see you take on the ENGL models. I have an ENGL Savage Special Edition (the discontinued one) head with an ENGL 4x12 V30 cab, and I'm trying to get the same(ish) sound from my Axe FX III, both clean and high gain, but there's just too many knobs (one of them might be me...) :P Watching someone who actually knows what they're doing when they turn the knobs would be interesting.
@LeonTodd5 жыл бұрын
The Savage model is an interesting one - the presence control works totally different to anything else I've heard. That model with the grinder boost is just nuts though, instant chuggachugga
@NorseJedi5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. I haven't actually played around much with adding a boost to the amp block itself, only played around with boosting with a Drive-block in front of the amp block. Gonna have to experiment a bit more with that. Right now I've split my signal into two paths with one going into an Angle Severe 1 block and the other into an Energyball (both with their own ENGL V30-cab IRs), and that's gotten me a bit closer to the tone I'm looking for, but in doing so I've also doubled the amount of knobs, so... well, you see my problem... ;) I am going to get there eventually I hope, but if not I might stumble on to an even better sound in the process :)

I don't use the enhancer but it is a fun block that I need to do a video on at sims point. I like a touch of verb (rec studio C, mix around 10 % time around 0.5s) when using headphones
