Once again demonstrating that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Leopold was quite the skilled composer (among many other talents) in his own right. This work showcases his own genius (which he obviously passed on to Wolfgang),

Right from the beginning i consider this as a diligently and sophisticated driven to perfection masterpiece 6:49 this is a little bit like "la rejouissance" in Handels music for the fireworks

I have heard a lot from Niklas Eklund and it is fantastique

Baroque trumpets are hard to play. Eklund makes it sound so easy. He has beautiful tone and sound.

Am I the only one who can hear that the theme of the second movement is plagiatory ? Is is a simplification of Händels "La Rejouissance" from the Music of the Royal Fireworks.

No there was somebody else hearing the same thing.

He borrowed a few notes or a phrase from the begginning of the Fireworks.. but the piece is totally different as a whole - so that is excusable!

@Kelly Fis6her only someone who has never tried angel food ice cream would make such an egregious statement.

Not bad for an evil man!

Yes, the evil man dedicated the rest of his life to teaching his son all he knew and took him by the hand to the great capitals of culture to play for the aristocracy that feted the young man. And even made money from it!... How evil the man!

I doubt that Leoppold was any more "evil" than 99.9% of fathers in the late 1700's. Times change.
