If The Black Keys and The White Stripes ever collaborated, they should of just been labeled as "The Piano"

I was so happy when I found out this song was released as a single. Definitely a highlight on a very, very strong album. This, and Run Right Back, but that one doesn't have nearly the same feeling of epicness. I mean that in the original sense of the word, not the Internet sense of the word. Dan has become a huge influence on my own playing, and my band has ended up sounding sort of similar, but we're trying not to ape their sound too much.

I love The Black Keys and White Stripes. In my my opinion, the only thing these two bands share is that they are breaking away from all the BS that passes for music nowadays. TBK and WS, I think, worked hard to write and create the sound that we enjoy today. No gimmicks like a hundred dancers trying to distract you from the canned music and lip sync.

Update 2023: Your comment is now 11 years old, but it's still true today. Mainstream is still shit and The Black Keys are just about one of the only groups putting out music still that is even worth listening to. This is the case, despite the guys now being in their 40s. I sure do miss 2012 tho lol

@MrHawgFish12 жыл бұрын
Why is that? Because he's hitting a floor tom? I hear no Meg White in his drumming, all I hear is John Bonham. Pat Carney may have a simple drumming style but its ages ahead of anything Meg White would come up with. But you are correct on the lyric part.

IMO one of things DA has that JW possibly lacks (only a little mind you) is the voice, the comparisons get a wee bit tedious but it is unavoidable (I have done just that after all)

i hear the zep, im sick of the jack white comparisons, listen to junior kimborough sp? and youll see and hear who inspired dan, jack white didnt pioneer the 2 piece band he wasnt the 1st and wont be the last. im not a fan of the white stripes i mean some songs are catchy they just seemed like a gimmick, the chick drummer was cute, i dont know jack just seems like he tries to be so mysterious with all his bullshit, hes talented but i didnt buy it, i hear soul in the black keys
