My finch loves this. He has a friend who loves to bathe, but he doesn't always bathe when the other bird does. For some reason, though, this video will get him to do it, maybe because Leporello looks like him? He also likes to sing along to the videos of Leporello singing and will try to copy him because he is still a young bird. It's very nice to watch. Danke schön, Leporello! Gute Besserung...

Hey, I wanted to thank you once more for your help. Yesterday Mango and Melon started jumping on and off my hand without any trouble, which is more than I thought was possible, and that’s all thanks to your amazing help! Right now I’m trying to train them to take millet seeds from my hand, so I can start training them to do things like allowing me to clip their nails. I have honestly never seen them get so close to me and not want to get off. I’m so thankful and happy you decided to make this channel! Honestly, I can’t describe my joy with words. I just really hope you won’t give up your channel. Keep up the great work! Also, get better soon, Leporello!

J’adore! We have a reverse osmosis filtration system for our terrible tap water at home, which chimes when you press a button for water. Our smart little bird learned quickly that the chime = water, so he developed a special chirp to let us know when he wants a bath! 😆 We should change his name to Pavlov!
@leporellothegoldfinch4 жыл бұрын
That is amazing! Leporello used to have a little bell in his cage which I taught him to ring whenever he wanted to be let out, in quite the same manner as your bird learnt to associate the chime. All was fine and dandy until he started ringing that bell at 5AM, every single day... that was the end of the bell!

I'm sorry to hear that! Is there something you're doing differently, maybe? Maybe they're uncomfortable in the spot they are in now. Birds tend to get frightened when they don't feel sheltered. Going through the taming steps in the bird-taming playlist would certainly help - they are likely to come around much faster the second time, too!

Hey There! How are you doing? Your little Leporello really knows how to shower.. unlike Gigi that only dips his beak and makes a mess while keeping himself dry. Gigi watches TV when I run Goldfinch videos and In have noticed that he prefers Goldfinch videos of them bathing. (I only found wild ones on youtube doing this). So this vid is a must for him! And being a long vid is excellent, he will enjoy it for sure. BTW, did you see the movie The Goldfinch about a very valuable painting.. if you didnt you should do so.. nice story.
@leporellothegoldfinch3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, lovely to hear from you! Gigi might simply need more time - Leporello took three years (!) until he fully jumped into the water, before that he bathed just in the same way as Gigi does. Perhaps Gigi will be inspired here? - I haven't seen the film yet, but thank you for the recommendation! I'll be sure to check it out.

I just installed two mini-pool expansions on both my goldfinches' cages. While the female Nessy has no trouble going in and out the pool and taking long baths, the male Krono seems to be quite reluctant to bathe. He always has been, to be fair, but the new expansion seems to bother him even more than his usual little pool. I had resolved to simply bathing him by hand (he loves to stay on my palm right under the sink, and even falls half-asleep if the water is warm and the flow is steady), but I don't always have the time to do so. Hopefully playing this a couple times a day will help. Thanks!

Hi, the male might simply be shy! Leporello only bathed his head for about three years (!) before he was ready to jump in. Now at six years of age, he even bathes when strangers are in the room.
