Fun thing. Ihsahn is singer Einars brother in law. Leprous has also toured as Ihsahns backing band. The two drummers are both the current drummer and the old drummer for this special concert. Ihsahn is also part of Matt Heafys (Trivium) new project Ibaraki. They have an incredible song called Ronin with special appearance of My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way! Ihsahns solo stuff is quite good too.

Bro you can't mention all that and not mention Emperor

Please do more Leprous. I've been waiting for this so you could get hooked and do a bunch of their songs. You will not regret it. They have such a wide variety of stuff, but are awesome at crafting songs and building drama and tension no matter what style they're in. If you want to geek out on drumming, watch some of Baard's drum play through videos like Rewind or Moon. Your mouth will drop at what a great drummer he is. Or watch Running Low...has a cello in it and sounds like it could be out of a James Bond soundtrack with a super catchy chorus. Or if you want a slow, beautiful song that builds, Castaway Angels. No matter what you pick, just do more of them.

It is criminal these guys aren't playing sold out arenas.

I saw them live in a sold-out indoor music venue, for what it's worth

in USA? there were barely 100 people at both shows I saw. I would imagine they play bigger venues in Europe and Norway.

@@klipfellgames1158 Way more than 100 in Seattle a couple weeks ago, and it was packed. Though when I watched them on the Congregation tour, they were lucky if there was 50 people there.

Ihsahn's vocals are absolutely fantastic. If you ever want to check out his solo stuff, I'd recommend Celestial Violence (cleans and screams).

Just watched Leprous in Seattle a few weeks ago. They are a bit different nowadays, but still awesome and nearly flawless live. They even brought a live cello player on tour, same guy from recent albums I believe. If you get a chance to see them live, do yourself a favor and don't pass it up.

The second singer is a guest singer, the singer of Norwegian black metal band Emperor., actually, Leprous singer Einar was a keyboardist in Emperor before starting the band.
@fenris84772 жыл бұрын
You clearly don't know what you are talking about. He was not a keyboard for emperor. He was keyboard for ihsahns solo band and also is his brother in law
@kjellruneherkedal17532 жыл бұрын
Ehh! Wrong. He was a livemember for Emperor as a keyboardist
@joshdunn20312 жыл бұрын
No you're both wrong, he was actually an Emperor for keyboardist.

Saw them live for the first time a couple of months ago, in my hometown Trondheim, Norway, and they were f-ing amazing!!! “Only” one drummer, no violin and no Ihsahn, but still one my all time favorite shows🙂 Maybe sharing the top spot with the two times I’ve seen Meshuggah, who are completely insane🤘

Absolutely amazing band. Seen them live a couple of times and they are almost frighteningly talented. I've met them as well and they were super nice dudes. Baard Kolstadt on the drums is one of the best drummes around today imo. Highly recommend checking out all their stuff!

It´s funny how you one day prior to this watched another video from the same concert (Slave) and were then blown away when you noticed that it was two drummers, and this time blown away again 😂😂 Leprous is a great band and Baard (the one without shirt) is one of the best drummers up there. The other drummer is the bands former drummer who was invited to play on this show.

Leprous, yeah they are alright. Bit overrated imo. But not bad. Bit too Disney on the clean vocals for my taste. Prefer the smooth blues croonish cleans compared to the musical section of The Lion King or Beauty and The Beast that the cleans remind me of. But Ihsahn. Ihsahn. Ihsahn is the underrated MVP.
