It’s very nice to see vets turned instructors actually taking the time to think critically of the area of operations and acknowledge the differences between law enforcement, civilian self defense, and military operations. So many times I see instructional videos on KZbin and on video sales outlets that simply focus on applying military TTPs into civilian self defense. Everyone is preparing for WROL scenarios rather than the more realistic and seemingly less glamorous everyday ROL self defense actualities. Thank you!!! It was so refreshing to have you two discuss this and hopefully the other gung-ho trainers will adapt your mindset. Have a blessed day.

Awesome: Thank you for having Tu Lam. Tu Lam is a modern day Samurai, a true quiet professional. He is the soul of Ronin Tactics. Go to Global Recon Podcast, episode #4. Tu Lam gives Mike Glover / Mike Hendrix and interview Tu and the details of his background are amazing. He talks of his birth in Vietnam and floating in a wooden boat at sea. His family largely killed by the Vietnamese. He made it to Malaysia where their coastguard drug them further out to sea after shooting their engine. He was picked up by a Russian freighter and fortune brought him to North Carolina. He was taught the ways of the SOF as a child of 8 yo. He was in Iraq and his friend Mike Glover were in a covert branch of SOF as “Double Dragon” Unit given very dangerous missions together. He talks about the death of his friend Crisis Response Force (CRF) - Crisis Commander and Extremist Forces (CEF) for Africa. It is the counter terrorist direct action arm of each SF group. There is one group per continent. He talks of the death of his best friend who was his role model. His friend was killed in combat and died in 2006 in a hospital in Baghdad with Tu Lam at his side. He suffered a GSW to the head. He was never able to say “Goodbye.” If you get a chance to train with him for blade, handgun, rifle or tactics, do it. I’ve never trained with Tu Lam but I’ve studied his teachings and will train with him someday. Dr. Hull, MD
