Beaux is a fabulous place but always so busy in the summer. I always visit March to April or October to November. Then it is calm yet most places are open and you get the opportunity to interact with the, very few, people who live there. Another bonus is you get to park in the top car park and don't have to climb so much. Les Carriers are magnificent. It is an integrated audio visual display which tells an incredible story of an artist or group of artists over about an hour. It changes each year. The audio within the quarry is just mind-blowing. Well worth a visit the 20euro will appear great value. As local residents we got a 30% discount. As a resident of Aix you may get some as well. Take a Utility bill with you. Michael.

@@SamFournier Sam, when you go take a jacket or something to keep you warm. Even in the height of summer it is cool underground in the quarry. They do sell things to keep you warm but they are expensive. Enjoy your visit.

What a pity for Les carrières de Lumières, it definitely worth the price... The place and also for the show (which change every year), une prochaine fois alors. Next time, next to Les Baux, you can visit too St-Remy de Provence, a beautiful place and city, with the antique city of Glanum (gallo-romaine), amazing to see. Middle to end of september is the best time to do it, the weather is nice, and less tourism.
