I hope Les Claypool had a lucky day after giving that shout out.

One of my favorite musicians talking about one of my favorite musicians. Love it.

Lol same. Les is my all time favorite bassist, and Mark is runner up...there are a handful of others that are phenomenal but dude...Les and Mark fronting the band when everyone says the bass isn't special...yeah right. Listen to them and tell me we bassists couldn't be leading way more bands. It's always about the bass and drums first for me, the skeletal system framework of the band then what they choose to do with the voice and leas guitar effects/sound is whether or not I am going to be obsessed or pass lol. God hearing him talk about Mark is so sweet. Marks never been given enough credit. Ever.

2023, les is still rocking the Sandman mic! I look for it everytime I see him live

Right?! When I started playing bass I looked up all the greats that I could find. When I discovered Claypool, Sandman, Steele and many others that are the bassist and the front it kept me going. Hearing Les giving Mark a shout out is so fuckn wholesome

I used to watch Mark perform with Treat her Right back in the early eighties in Boston the guy was amazing and I’m glad he is getting his props especially from a guy as iconic as Les Claypool

This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, the thought of Les singing into a Sandman mic is too cool to fathom

What some may not know is that Claypool was at that very concert where Sandman collapsed and died on-stage -- Palestrina, Italy summer 1999. Mark was a genuine musical genius during an age when that recognition was lauded on far too many artists who didn't really deserve the honor. Of all of those artists lost prematurely from that generation, he's the one whose name would cross my lips first and without delay for thought if asked who amongst them I'd bring back from the dead.

Youre right. Im from Boston, mad music lover, and 1st Treat Her Right was my fave band on the scene who I saw play at least a 100 times, then Morphine, same, me and friends hardly ever missed a gig, they were SO good. The songs...awesome. Mark...just brilliant. I consider myself SO lucky to have had Mark entertain me like that, an embarrassment of riches really. Les is right on here. RIP Mark.
