The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Les Miserables" on its main stage. Starring TKA alum Nate Adams (Jean Valjean), senior Chase Pereboom (Javert), sophomore Kyle Martin (Marius), senior Lexi Graves (Eponine), junior Graham Popadic (Thenardier), senior Summer McCarty (Fantine), and junior Gracie O’Connor (Cosette), this performance showcased TKA’s young talent and was the last musical staged at the school’s Loveland Center. (In May 2017, King’s opened the Page Family Center for Performing Arts, a state-of-the-art, 800-seat theatre, at its West Palm Beach campus.)
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, an American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Mikah Adams (Popular Music, Elementary Choir), Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano), and Mr. Gene George (Elementary Music Theory and Band).

not really, with a cast that big you can design a set like that by hand. they also didn’t have a rotating stage which les mis normally has and it was pretty clear nobody was running the sound for their pit.(my high school did this, check out the loft stage on youtube if you want to see a production that we somehow made money)

France had 2 Revolutions (or at least 2 things referred to has Revolutions, not here to argue). This story involves the June Rebellion. The ages of the actors are in line with the ages of the characters they are portraying. There is no need for bloodshed my friends.

It's really beautiful to witness! So much passion that even if they weren't the most talented group of kids with a great budget we'd still probably be moved by this performance. I think this performance rivals the original, the movie, and any other off broadway renditions. This group gives me the chills though

This is really giving me flashbacks to my school’s production of Les Mis- the whole cast would come down from the stage whilst singing this song and make their way up the aisle ways, belting their hearts out. Some of my crew friends (along with myself) made up a tradition where every time they circled back around to meet us backstage, there was always a line of us with high-fives waiting! At first some of ‘em weren’t into it, but by the final performance, the “High Five Barricade” had grown and all of our hands hurt like HECK... but it was worth it! Thanks for bringing back some great memories! TL;DR- At my high school, after this song, a ton of crew members lined up and gave the cast members some hecking great high fives 🙌

Let me tell you something: my father is possibly dying and I’m in pieces and listening to the music he loves is giving me something I can’t even explain, something too sad and beautiful to have a name, and every single one of the people in this cast need to feel my gratitude for the peace and relief this has given me. If you’ve graduated, I hope you come back and read this and realise that there’s a chance that every song you sing, no matter where you sing it, makes a heart lighter, if only for a day. There is nothing I can imagine worth more than that.

Bravo! to the director, the choreographer, the production manager, the stage manager, the music director, the set designer, and everyone else behind the scenes who instilled such a high bar of professionalism in these kids and helped to create an absolutely brilliant performance. Everyone on that stage is a winner in life! Amazing and stunning to watch. These kids (and the audience) will remember this for the rest of their lives. Again, just breathtaking!

A fine production of this song and I just found out about your school. Very nice performance. I do notice some have stand-out appearance and caught my notice. The guy in black, I believe I saw a comment which his name is Kyle Martin. The guy in stripes, the middle of the stage and the one in red-wine shirt at the third row. Those 3 had good face expression I believe. The band was amazing.
