The most 80's non 80's track of all time. Fantastic Kershaw vocals.

I disagree with that. Can't remember the song, but it was even more 80's than this one imho.

@@adeniz41 Trying to find it, but no luck. I'll ask for it on a song search forum. It's a woman that looks like a particular 80s blonde female rock star, though I can only think of Gloria Estefan and Cyndi Lauper at the moment. She sings "You put the fire back into me" or something like that. It might be my lucky day, because I just found two songs in the last ten minutes that I've been looking for last year for weeks with no avail. "Drop the pressure vs Dr beat" being one of them.

I know many bands from mid 2000 inspired by Les Rhytmes Digitales. This track was more like ahead of its time, and not 80s. They just have a nostalgic touch.

This was ahead of its time. Everybody was still retroing the 70s in 1999, but this dude made an 80s album when we all still hated the 80s for its 'plastic music', still fresh in our memories. However, he changed our mind

It's a very unusual song, in all the best ways. The video is bold and surprisingly deep given the fact you think its just fluffy toys. Appearances can be deceptive particularly with someone that has depression and a thick veneer of coping we show the world. It's a beautiful project done justice by Nik Kershaw, again another left field choice, but brilliant and soulful.

guy coulson - Totally. Somebody missed the ball on this one. It definitely didn’t get the recognition it deserved like so many other artists around that time (Mr. Oizo, Propellerheads, Junkie XL, just to name a TINY few). My guess is they were too ahead of their time. It’s such a shame b/c nowadays you see so many mediocre “edm” guys blowing up left & right.
