BRO! They can see THE IR LIGHT!!! Why do you think we never seem to get them on trail-cams? Okay, well yea sometimes we do... but I have seen enough trail-cam and just regular night vision footage to notice that that they tend to stay just outside the "beam" of light... How do you think they get around SO WELL at night?? They have vision that picks up IR.. i.e. they have night vision... they ARE nocturnal after all, so it's not bizarre or anything... and they are intelligent enough to see the big glaring light that is TOTALLY UNNATURAL, and so they KNOW something's up... so they typically avoid the light and stay out of it... but if there is food in that beam and they are hungry enough, well they are ABSOLUTELY smart enough to hide BEHIND the trunk of the tree and use a stick to knock the apple off the branch so it fall out of the beam of IR light and YUMMY!!!! - But since we don't know the location of the other snackies in the tree (I think you said there was a candy bar or something) we don't really know if that little glance of creature at the bottom left of the screen is another (successful) attempt at knock the snackies loose without being touched by the scary hooman lites :)

2:36 you hit the nail on the head for as why les did not want to include mentioning the Bigfoot sounds in the episode Survivorman. He takes his filmmaking serious. He considers each episode their own film rather than an episode of a whole series. He said it himself, but he didn’t want to bring Bigfoot into the question in the episode as to make it seem like he was trying to bring something interesting to the table. The survival itself should’ve been what was interesting. He shouldn’t need to add something else in to make it interesting and he was worried people might think that’s why he was adding it in.

The spinal column isn't weird. It actually happens really frequently with elk and stag carcasses. A predator just needs to leave the back ridge mostly intact, and the bugs will take care of the rest, but the connections will often not fully break between the bones.
@Superkoolaid85721 күн бұрын
I thought that as well, but its near what is clearly some kind of nest, wouldn’t a bear have broken the bones or at least torn them apart if it was sleeping right next too them? Was it there and a bear simply made a nest there without rlly messing with it, or did a bear make a nest and then drag it over there without tearing into it?

I just can't understand why the bigfoot series didn't continue..it was FINALLY a bigfoot show worth watching. Then again I don't see why he needs a network for the show to continue. I recall him saying that he also felt like someone was basically sitting on his legs when he was camped up on that mountain and he saw strange lights in the sky...something like that. I've always heard that once you have an encounter it's like they're attracted to you and you will keep having more while most other people will never have one. Les seems like one of those people who will have more and more encounters. I have a _lot_ of respect for Les as a survivalist and filmmaker but I didn't like his Bigfoot series, ironically He went into it with preconceived ideas about the subject ("If it was just an ape we'd have one in a zoo, it has to be more") and his first contact was Todd freaking Standing The series ends with a coyote making a weird noise, new age practitioners, psychics, orbs that he didn't record, and mindspeak. He didn't film with the Olympic Project, the NAWAC, or any of the other groups doing serious scientific research on it because... why? Eh, that's my piece on being skeptical I guess 😅 His series lost me, long story short
@Prodigy6821 күн бұрын
I feel the same, but think it's more a combination of practical factors that limited Les' scope: the perpetual lack of funding, the cost of hi-tech equipment, the licenses necessary, the Big Ego's plagueing the field, the fact that valid researchers aren't willing to share their documented findings, and, and, and. Also, the rough landscapes, the cycle of the seasons, and amount of available daylight (in which Les has to do most of his filming) really dictate the schedule. So problems, problems everywhere. Les could do well by building on his personal thoughts and observations. Like Bob does - by inserting more science-backed visuals to expand on ideas like 'if it were an ape, we'd have one in a cage already.' Show the audience "why." Because he's not a scientist, he can get away with some suggestion, speculation and a bit of daydreaming. But being a survival expert, he should translate his knowledge into their foodsources, resting places and how they manipulate their environments from their viewpoint. Only when we begin look through their wild eyes, we will begin to understand. Only there lie answers, only there progress will be made. And Les is just the man to do this.
@JA-jx1hk17 күн бұрын
We all have preconceived ideas about the subject. You thinking that it’s simply an animal and nothing beyond that is a preconceived idea. You thinking that the only accurate way to study something like this is through scientists in labcoats is also a preconceived idea.

Bob, you just made us watch an 11 minute advert of a twig moving in a tree to just promote Les's new show...? Bro the barrier of entry for what you deem probable these days is so much lower than a couple years ago. I fell in love with your channel Because of your logical, fact based view of the matter and high level scrutiny you applied to each case/report.
@RojoGrande-0220 күн бұрын
i agree im new to this channel and am open to cryptids as animals yet to be official recognized by science, but how does this necessarily strengthen the bigfoot argument? random objects slightly moving sounds more like ghost hunters footage than bigfoot confirmation.
@dontnonowuno995320 күн бұрын
First of all the clips are not an "advert" as you stated. The footage for most ppl interested in the sasquatch subject have seen that footage already. Bob was breaking down how this might of happened with the apple disappearance since it was so lightly discussed or examined on Strouds channel .Secondly, I think ppl with no work in this field just watching to see Bigfoot are always going to dismiss small details that can't be explained . They generally don't know the research info and just want proof in clear body form,or to say it's all b.s....which one are you?
@Montauk11020 күн бұрын
@@dontnonowuno9953 it's not an explicit advertisement, but it's likely why Les did this interview and is essentially what this video serves as. Most of the content in this video could likely have been caused by any number of animals or conditions. I've loved Les' work for years, but this is all a massive stretch and has overall only made me more skeptical.
@zacrogan181719 күн бұрын
@dontnonowuno9953 it was 100% just a way to 1) familiarize viewers with Les and his show. 2) creating intrigue around a potential cryptid to pull his (bob's) core audience into watching the full length interview he dropped today. (20 Dec 24) Les isn't known for crypto-zoology, so by creating a potential sighting, Bob knows his audience are far more likely to actually watch the show/interview. It is an advert. The entire purpose was to funnel viewers into watching the later interview with Les.

@@zacrogan1817 preview not advert but now we're just being silly. Bob doesn't need to "advertise" his own channels content.His viewers watch everything he puts out, and only a few 25 and unders would not tune into the legendary Les Stroud.

A few things. First , barred owls , which have expanded into Alaska , make an ape-like call that is called caterwauling. You can find it on youtube.We have a lot of barred owls near our property but I only heard this call once while in a deer blind. It is very ape-like. I am not claiming that is what he heard since I wasn't there to witness it.I do believe that this call is sometimes identified as BF. Also , I have had bait vanish in front of an expensive game camera so there are times they don't activate for some reason. This was in a nearly suburban area so BF was unlikely. I don't see an association with BF and the sea lion spine. The cottonmouth story seems made up. Even BF would not do that risking serious venomous bites. I have always respected Les way more than I do other researchers. I hope definitive proof is found some day and I think it will take a person with integrity like Les to do it.

You are absolutely right! I live in the suburbs so not used to owls and heard outside my window what sounded like a hollering ape and it actually scared the crap out of me. They are also incredibly quite, I had one glide past me at night only lit by a street light and it was like a ghost.

What a pleasant Tuesday surprise! What if someone/thing knocked the apple out of the tree with a well placed rock throw? Standing behind the tree, which would explain the apple’s position and proximity to camera. From what little I’ve seen, Sasquatch are skilled at throwing things.

Man...that silhouette of the bigfoot sitting so still behind him after he fell down the cliff gave me the chills. I've seen ur other episode on that but wow that is just crazy! I'm trying to figure out if the bigfoot is facing us or has his back to us.

Pareidolia. Not everything has to be a Bigfoot

Bob conveniently ignores the light shining through the leaves that are right where the "head" is. ❤@@eedobee

Looks more like a part of the foliage in front of what would be the head, not light shining through. I can even make out facial features, but that could be pareidolia.

That apple thing is ridiculous. A tree branch wiggles and the apple disappears, so sasquatch has a chance to be involved? That's so totally scant that I can't believe you even included it. The apple disappearing is certainly weird, but I'd put "camera malfunction" or "squirrel" above supersonic sasquatch any day. I mean don't get me wrong, it is a mystery how the apple disappeared but why would it be any more likely to be big foot over like anything else? Even if bigfoot exists, I see zero reason to say one had anything to do with the apple. I'm really not even sure how you think sasquatch was involved in it, do you mean he shook the tree, or literally ambled up and down the tree so fast that the camera didn't catch it?

Stroud himself mentioned it/showed that a few times. So don't blame Bob for that.

Exactly
@zazugee21 күн бұрын
that's a common thing, like in the skinwalker ranch, the NIDS team claimed that the phenomenon often damage or avoid detection by the cameras, even when they put two CCTV cameras facing each others to know who was the cuplrit behind the sabotage, both cameras malfunctioned at the same time.

4:05 that video of the Apple… it looks like eye shine and that face looks like a possum and not an apple. My theory, possum climbed up on the back side of the tree, got the Apple, and it just did it from the other side of the tree as to not trigger the camera. That’s assuming there are possums in Alaska. I’m just saying that clip seems to show a little face with eye shine that looks like a possum
@diplodorkus97021 күн бұрын
Nah they don't live that far north. Tho with your theory, could be a marten or a fisher. Primarily carnivores but they're both known to also eat fruit/berries and nuts when given the chance, in particular fishers will steal apples from deer feed stands
@kullenberg17 күн бұрын
I don't think possums understand the concept of a camera.

A twig moving doesn't indicate a big ground vibration. More branches would shake. A rodent climbed the back of the tree away from the camera and knocked the apple down. The apple fell and hit the twig on the way down activating the camera. Solved and you're welcome
