I use to be a sceptic until I was camping out in the woods on a deer hunting trip in south west Arkansas near the Oklahoma line. We had finished the day and all turned in. Something around 2 am came threw our camp and the smell it left in it wake was worse than a skunks. A couple of us grabbed our rifles and exited our tents. A large shape was on the edge of our a camp site. All I saw were red eyes that looked like they looked right through me and disappeared into the night. There was no sound being made by the normal things you hear at night. It was I don't know scary as hell! We heard the sounds of trees knocking and well I guess you call it communication between more than one creature in the woods around us. We added wood to the the coals and stated a huge camp fire. None of us went back to sleep. At daylight we decided to take a look around. We discovered 4 trees blocking the trail we were going to take and the alternate both had huge trees blocking the trails. We'd driven up both the day before checking to see if our rigs could make through.. Then we found the foot prints. We broke camp and decided that we should leave. We reported it to the game wardens and National Park service. We had a visit from some one saying he was Park Service that ask lots of questions but all of us got the feeling he wase lying about who he was. Was talking to a friend who said his uncle a tribal elder said you shouldn't go back into that place. I did a little research and discovered there had been lots of reports on that area. My friend and I went back a few months latter. We discovered that hole section of forest is closed to the public. We also were stopped by "local" LEOs who asked us if we were lost. That was now 4 years ago. I've been back a few times and every time it's the same thing I get stopped. I also had encounters in other parts of the area that are still open. I know this was a long comment but you should know if your in the woods and all the sudden you feel like your being watched or followed and things go silent it best you leave as fast as you can. I'm pretty sure our government knows all about them.

What were you thinking when you noticed it at night? Did using your rifle ever cross your mind ? I see you were scared , but did you think about using weapon on it? I'm assuming no because you are here telling about it, nobody knows if the people who try to shoot it are the ones going missing or what but it could be the case.....

Wild - Yes, but people need evidence. Your case would be a great one to investigate. No pics of the footprints 4 years ago? Have a person stand where you saw it and compare heights next to nearby trees? Foxes smell worse than skunks. Mountain Lions smell really bad and it lingers for almost a day. People who live in the woods know a lot. It's the people that visit where we live that think something is unnatural. It's not. Was your group drinking or smoking? That alone makes me dismiss 99.99999% of everything I hear. ALL my friends ALWAYS drank and smoked heavily. Nothing they said could be trusted.

After driving south all day from WA through OR, then crossing the border into CA, my wife and I needed to sleep (badly). We had planned on camping at Patrick’s Point, but found it semi destroyed due to budget cuts with the park system. Around 12:30am, we continued south on hwy 101 till I saw the turnoff for “Avenue of the Giants”, a 20 mile stretch of two lane road running through 300’ tall redwoods on either side, in the Humboldt Redwood State Park. It was positively pitch black out as I backed into a pullout just a couple miles in. We got out to pee before climbing into the back of the truck. She climbed up first, and I sat on the tailgate momentarily marveling at the extreme darkness, when a scream, much like at 14:40, roughly 30 -50 yards back in the trees, pierced the silence. The sheer volume, intensity, and duration of the scream was utterly absurd. Positively inhuman. Big. She tells me “I’m not happy”, when immediately another huge scream from the other side of the truck blasts out, about 30-50 yards off. I couldn’t help but laugh nervously, but I knew I couldn’t drive any further. I think they (it?) were ticked off that we peed in their front yard. Beyond insane. Closed up the truck, hoped for the best, and crashed out. Became instant believers.

IN 1985 i was in a bush plane with my older cousins and uncle was flying,we were in Northern Ontario Canada around hudsons bay/James bay area,when my uncle said "LOOK AT THAT!"..EVERYONE LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW at the ground.(i was 10 at the time and too short to see out.)...they said they all saw a big hulking figure walking upright on a bog...even today 39 years later they still talk about it.

Funny a very similar story happened to my dad. He was too short to see so was his brother and mother but his father saw out the high window. The rest of the family only saw the bright light that shone in. He said it was nothing but then later admitted what he saw was a UFO. The neighbors saw it too, whole family saw it together. Mom dad sis brother. The children talked with my father and brother. They had a dog thatALWAYS barked , when the visitors came the dog was silent. The neighbor kids told my dad and uncle about how they saw an alien space ship. My grandpa passed last year but he held steadfast that he saw something absolutely unexplainable that day. He was not the type to lie, not an attention seeker. just a quite kind Catholic man who served in the army.

In the late 80's, in the month of May, my wife and I had rented a houseboat on Trinity Lake in northern California. Due to the early season, there were few other houseboats on the lake. We had pulled up the houseboat in one of the many coves available, almost at the end of the cove on the east side of the lake. The hillside went up at about 30 degrees. At about 9:00 that night, while the wife and I were playing a game, we heard an extremely loud howl coming from up the hillside above us, lasting several seconds. It sounded close, probably less than a hundred yards away. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep that night. Come morning we moved to a different cove on the west side, about a mile away from the first night's campsite, but still within direct line of sight. Again, that next night, at approximately the same time, we heard that same howl coming from approximately that same location where we had camped the night before. Upon seeing this video, and listening to the Ohio howl, I again heard that same howl! I called my wife into the room to listen. She immediately identified the howl we had heard those two successive nights camping on Trinity Lake. Any doubt about what we had heard has been removed!

In 1972 my dad and his veterinarian friends, all scientists had boulders thrown at them and found giant spoor back in 1972 in the deep woods of Baxter State Forest in Maine. (Mt. Kahtahdin). Same behavior as we’ve heard many times since. I completely believe him.

In 2009 I was hunting in the marble mountains near to where that video was taken. For the 5 days I was there I had the distinct feeling of being watched the entire time. One night a creature was huffing extremely loud outside my tent, it began pounding on the ground so powerfully it made the ground shake. I felt that I was going to be attacked so I chambered a round in my rifle and began yelling at the top of my lungs. I turned my headlamp on and exploded out of my tent panning in the direction of the huffing, it was extremely foggy causing my light to refract rendering me basically blind. All I could do was listen for the animal. I heard bipedal running in the forest, this thing was huge, fast and powerful. It moved about 100 yards from my camp and stopped, began snapping limbs of trees and chucking massive rocks in my direction. This went on for about 3min but felt like an hour. I fired a shot in a known safe direction. After the shot I heard the same deep heavy thud of a bipedal animal running away from behind me, this one was only about 20 yards from me. At that moment I knew I was being hunted, and fired 3 rounds in a safe direction. I stayed up listening to branches being broken from 3 locations around my camp. At first light I packed my gear and left. I will never hunt those mountains alone ever again.

I’m a hunter and been going in the woods scent I was a kid . Been deer hunting for 52 years and I can say that I have heard and seen things I can’t even explain, like rocks stacked up inside hollow dead trees when there are no big rocks in the area, a 2to3” tree twisted and broken over with no dead trees that have fallen that could have fallen and hit it or hear heavy foot steps in the leaves and don’t see what’s doing it. I have never been scared enough to leave the forest cause I want to see what’s doing all of this. By the way I have heard tree knocks while hunting and camping off trail more than once. New things are found in the ocean all the time and new animals on land too. Like one man said, just because you haven’t seen it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Just like the wind, I have never seen it,but I know it’s there cause I have heard it and felt it.

The animals that are discovered are usually in very remote areas or very much limited to one certain area. These Bigfoot creatures are alleged to inhabit the entire Earth, from the deep forest, to the not so deep forest, high mountains, watersheds and swamps. Their range is very similar to that of humans so their lack of official discovery is a little bit harder to believe than some new frog in a deep rainforest confined to a 50 square yard pond or something in the depths of an arctic ocean. The amount of sightings should have revealed a live specimen, dead body or skeletal remains that have been thoroughly examined and tested. None of these things have come into scientific hands for study that have proven anything other than an answer of "unknown".

As an Aussie, I have heard of Yowies for fifty years, but never seen one. Here, it's like the "mythical" big cat sightings: you get labelled a nut. But, I've seen a big cat here. I know they're out there. I have no problem with the idea of something else being out there as well. (FYI for the non Aussie; panther like cats are not native, we have no native large predators other than the Dingo [ which isn't truly native but came with the early man ], but large cat species could easily have been introduced ).

People refuse to believe big cats exist in places where they historically lived and could still live. I used to live in Ohio in the USA, and saw a big cat a few months after a spate of sightings in a neighboring town. My town was more rural, lots of stands of trees and water ways. I lived there for nearly 30 years, foxes were “common” and i only saw one in all that time. Big cats in Australia is completely believable, especially if from escaped animals.

My biggest reason for knowing Sasquatch are a real living breathing thing, is the eye witness reports. The major take away with eye witness reports for me, is that there are so many of them, and its a lit of people describing the same activity. They all pretty much describe a Sasquatch type creature, but as well many other similar things like, thump that the witness can feel in their body. Like sonething is hitting the ground with tremendous force. A lot of people describe this. Tree knocks, whoops ect.. One could chalk this up to people just copying similar reports they have heard on the internet, but this type of activity has been being reported since Sasquatch reports have come out, way befor the internet, even before publications about Sasquatch. Another one is multiple eye witnesses. Meaning more than one person seeing the same thing at the same time. Another is trained professional eye witness encounters. People like forest rangers, police even Hunters. All have said that they have witnessed a Sasquatch. Are they all lying? Or mistaken? With people like hunters, it seems they always say, "they have been hunting their whole life, and never saw anything like a Sasquatch, untill they do see one, then they think back to all those times in the woods where something happened to them and they just chalked it up to something else.

When I was a boy my dad took me and my little brother hunting for honeycomb mushrooms when they were in season every year just outside of Anderson California. Each time we could here squirrels and birds and would see and here various other animals in the forest, but when I was about 9 years old and my younger brother was about 7 we went mushroom hunting and everything was different. There was no sound at all, and everywhere smelled very bad like maybe some sort of rot or mold. As a 9 year old boy I never knew what a Bigfoot was and never heard anything about a Bigfoot, but I saw a large figure run from hiding behind some trees about 50 feet to hide behind another group of trees. I didn't know what I was seeing but it scarred me tremendously so I yelled to my dad telling him there was a big monster running in the forest. I saw the creature run and hide behind another group of trees and I told my dad again there is a monster in the trees. He told me to be quiet then my younger brother started crying and my dad decided to give up mushroom hunting that day and we went home. About a week later our family was watching TV and it was the now famous Patterson video of Bigfoot and I told my mom and dad and my other family members that that is what I saw in the forest.

In 1965 in Fayetteville, Arkansas about 2 o’clock in the morning I had gotten up to use the restroom. I had a bathroom window by the toilet and heard something scratching on the screen. I peaked out the curtain and there was a creature bent down, looking at me with glowing red eyes. I dropped my curtain Took a deep breath looked out again. We had about 2 acres off the highway 45. We had a 6 foot retaining wall behind our house. It was about 10 yards from my bathroom window. With two steps and one up over the retaining wall that big footwas gone in the woods. I showed my parents the footprints the next day, but they didn’t believe me. I’m 70 years old now and I will never forget it.

I’d always considered myself a conspiracy theorist, 9/11 inside job, UFO’s, Illuminati, etc but always drew a line at Bigfoot until I ran into Survivorman Les Straud Bigfoot series. A survivor expert who has spent a lot of time in the outdoors all over world and sole purpose was keeping himself alive in remote areas had experiences he couldn’t explain, he sought out an explanation and boy did he find one! I have thoughts as you do. These things are real. But not what they think. Hear me out. I do believe people see them. But they are mistook what they think they are seeing. In general, many people think they are just evolved creatures unknown to man. But I'd argue it's not even close to that. Because sightings have basically been going on for thousands of years I accept people seeing, well something. . I suggest people have seen something. But we are just assuming it's what the so called experts say. It's alive. An animal. Etc.. It's unlikely everyone just made it up. Now what are they seeing? If those reading this, consider the spiritual route idea. If things like ghosts, embodied spirits and demons exist then let's consider that for big foot. Yes. They see big foot. But ...They are seeing something spiritual. If they are, it's why we never caught one. Ever. It's not a monkey. Not a human hybrid. And not an unknown animal. It's a ghost of sorts. The Bible speaks of Giants. In genesis it says... In those days, there were Giants. Are we seeing remnants of Giants? The Nephilim? Why not? UFOs. Some believe they could also be demonic or spiritual. Ghosts. UFOs. Demons, angels. They are seen then they disappear. Big foot sightings are reported then they instantly lose sight of them. You can't catch something like this. If they were an animal of sorts, we would have caught one. A dead one would have been documented. But we don't. We live in a spiritual world. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. If you agree with this idea, you will only see glimpses of these things called big foot. I believe in secret civilizations. Much more technical than us and smarter. Look up the book called the iron Republic and the secret Tartarian empire. Google says it's a myth. But you gotta dig. Go to rumble and search deep. . I live in North Florida, as a professional sound mixer for Film and TV, I had been hearing howls in the forests behind my house. One night, I was at the ready, had my recorder, camera ready...I caught a really clean howl. In fact, once cleaned up of background noise, you can gear two other distinct howls overlapping, for a total of three voices. The main (loudest) howl starts at a medium pitch, and maintains a very long howl, breaks then, continues howling. The second voice is high pitched but constant. Then, the last one is just at a constant howl, very low pitch. The only problem is there were coyotes yipping over some of the audio.

@cabininthewoods517 Sure thing, I have some other things as well. I recorded some chattering as well, that particular audio though, could be owls. I actually saw something one day, in broad daylight. It was a a distinct shoulder, pretty tall, about 7 1/2 feet tall in the bushes behind my house. When I turned to look at it (I was in the shed, getting some tools out) -- it was that shiny black fur -- it hunched down and disappeared. I wasn't scared or anything, but I walked away from the bushes, which were pretty close to me, about twenty feet away. Even then, I couldn't confirm it was a squatch because we have black bears here in Florida, and I have seen two already. But bears are usually loud, this was quiet, no sound at all. Reminded me of a navy seal doing recon, lol.

When I was a kid in the 80s my Boy Scout pack went camping in Oscar Scherer State Park in Sarasota Florida. We were all together, maybe 8-10 kids and 2 adults. As it was getting dark we were walking on a fire line through the palmetto. There were little stands of trees too. As we went around a corner there was a tall dark creature on 2 feet that was obviously surprised by us. It quickly stepped into some trees but we all saw it and heard the sounds of wood breaking as it was trying to get away or hide. It was way too tall for a person or bear. We all turned around and walked quickly back to camp without saying much until we got there. I'd never heard of a skunk ape until that day. Back then that park was loosely connected to Myakka State Park by cattle and citrus farms. I've seen video of a similar thing taken from Myakka on KZbin in a place I've been many times. Now there are a lot of homes, malls, golf courses and roads between the parks. It must be a lot harder for such creatures to survive with fragmented habitat. I don't know what we saw that evening in the state park. We camped far from the areas where normal visitors ever go and we were in a place where the critters didn't see people much. It seemed to step across the fire line without stepping in the path, I think it didn't want to leave tracks in the trail, if we really saw a skunk ape. Whatever it was it was dark, either black or dark brown. It was very tall, bigger than a person. The problem is that I don't have a better explanation than a Bigfoot. It's worth mentioning that the skunk ape is specifically protected from hunting in Florida. And the Osceola National Forest has had sightings for a long time. My only problem with believing in Sasquatch is the lack of bones or fossils. We have fossils and bones from a whole bunch of animals that don't even exist anymore. Yet nobody has dug up a Bigfoot bone? Not even an old one? Seems like someone would find a skull or something tangible.

One of the greatest dismissed or ignored witnesses are farmers, big and small operations. For every hunter, hiker, or camper account, there are 3 or 4 farmer related events. They go underreported, and are the least believed. I hunted, hiked, and camped for 40 years, and saw nothing. Moved to a farm and was here for just over a year and saw two creatures drinking from the horses water tank. A little under 9 years later, and I open my door to run off what I think iare the neighbor dogs harassing our farm cats, only to find one standing in the driveway. I saw the Minnesota Ice Man in Ohio. It was a traveling show exhibiting "freaks" such as the crab boy and the bierded lady. The creature in the block of ice looked real to me. I saw its face and other features very clearly. What impressed me was the end of its toe sticking about 1/4 of an inch out of the ice. It exposed just the tip of the bone. I'm 77 now, but as a young boy, this was pretty neat!

I was out in the middle of the woods many years ago and I had a tape recorder with me. I heard a knocking sound off of a tree trunk. Then at a farther distance the same. No pattern but different beats, rhythms and sound. This continued until it was very faint and then disappeared. Thank god I recorded it all. I took it to an expert of decoding sounds. It took him a month to translate the sounds, rhythms and beats. He told me it was a Bigfoot sending out information of a Led Zeppelin concert and was looking for someone to go with. And not the common sound of a tree thumper that I'm familiar with based on the rhythm. Cant dispute an expert. They really do exist. Unfortunately I no longer have the tape. I work in a small privately owned machine shop in southern Ohio. Only 7 employees. It sits off the road about a quarter of a mile in a pretty remote area with hills and woods on both sides of the drive. It’s a little unnerving to drive in the dark of the morning sometimes. I have heard some stories of Bigfoot sightings in the area but never took it very seriously. One Saturday morning just before sunrise I heard a single knock against a tree just behind the building. It’s where the guys go to smoke. Thing is that particular morning I was the only one there besides the owner and I could see him through the window to his office. Kinda brushed it off and a couple minutes later heard a single knock on the side of the building. It was a bit windy so thought maybe some tree branches falling or something. I went to investigate. When I opened the back door I found myself face to face with a Bigfoot. He asked if I had a smoke and I told him only menthols. He scoffed, turned around and moseyed off into the trees. Never saw him again.

And the thing just stands there, knees bent, in a tippy toe type poster, head cocked to the side, standing super still. The little thing on it's back was moving alittle, bit the Mom just stood still. And we stared for like 2 or 3 minutes, waiting for it to go into the woods or roar or whatever. The little one made a little kid scream type woop sound. It scared the shit out of my mom and peeled out so fast she almost flipped the quad. And then I drove after her looking back while it stood there. It was dark so I couldn't see defined features. It was across a small corn field. But we were tripping. Like we saw what we saw. Are you telling me Gorilla's live in woods of Midwest Minnesota? So what else could it be? I've had 2 conscious physical experiences, one was seeing a footprint and instantly knowing it was a bigfoot print and it was fresh , my buddy and I looked at it and instantly got the eery feeling , hair on the neck going up and instincts of flight immediately kicked in and we hauled ass out of the woods and it was in a spot that would totally be a perfect place for them to be. the 2nd event, I was at a party out in the country and went outside to take a leak and it literally yelled at me and I instantly knew it was a fucking bigfoot I was frozen in fear and stopped myself from peeing and went back inside. Thinking back on it now the events both occurred at places where I felt like I didn't even want to be there and me being there feels like a surreal happenstance. Like I decided to go right instead of left and experienced something I shouldn't have. There have been other subconscious experiences as well but I don't know how that's explainable, although thinking back on it when it happened my instincts triangulated where it was and what it was saying to me , like I'm over here so just letting you know cus idk what you'll do. Myself I heard a differing online story regards the carnival attraction otherwise known as the Minnesota Iceman. 1961, an off duty USAF pilot was big game hunting not far from Duluth. Either deer or moose hunting. He was alone and thru the forest he came upon a more open area very grassy. Almost immediately he spied two sasquatch nenarby. The one closest to him turned to attack him. The pilot-hunter let fly with his 8mm Mauser. He blacked out on impact and woke up to a dead sasquatch and two empty casings at his feet. The beast was struck thru the eye by the 2nd kill shot. Also thru its held upward hand in an attempt to protect itself during its charge at him. Seems the first shot merely wounded it in the leg or hip(?)

I'm sure you've heard of the series Alaska Triangle. There's a LOT of evidence over on Prince of Wales Island. It's a very large island. The northern tip is 45 miles west of the island where I live. There are many things that can be seen in a lake that can very reasonably be mistaken for a sea monster, including odd waves, logs and floating debris, waterfowl, seals, large fish, or eels. I have no doubt that most of the lake, monster reporting in Scotland and elsewhere in the world are caused by these typesof misidentification. However, when people have seen a clear view of a Sasquatch, they’ve described it as having very broad shoulders, plus very long and powerful arms that hang to the side almost to the knees, and that looks nothing like a standing bear, which has very narrow shoulders and short arms that stick out in the front. Claims of misidentification of Sasquatch are much less likely than claims of misidentification of other objects for being sea or lake monsters.

I grew up in north central Minnesota and spent a lot of time as a kid in the woods with my cousins. My father had shown me the show Monster Quest when I was young and I grew both a fascination and fear of Bigfoot. I told my cousins all about Bigfoot and we decided to head out into the woods and hunt for him. At one point we started hitting a tree with a stick and we would actually get a response. We would hit and in the distance we’d hear a loud thud as if someone else was smacking a tree with a stick. We did this maybe 10 times before we ran home scared. I had forgotten all about that experience until recently when my cousin brought it up, I honestly thought I had imagined it as we were probably no older than 10 and 8. He confirmed that it did indeed happen. Here’s another interesting thing that I can’t really explain. One time I was out on some back roads near my aunt and uncles house taking a walk. It was day time and mid summer, the woods were quite loud with cicadas, birds, ect. At one point it seemed to quiet down a little bit and I could hear what I would describe as monkey noises. They weren’t very far from me in the woods and I didn’t really try to examine what it was. At the time I honestly thought it was some kind of bird but after hearing this video the noise sounded a lot like the whooping.

For me the most compelling evidence is from M K Davis but I never see anybody talking about his clear close-up images. Has his evidence been proven a hoax? I currently live in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. I recently met an old retired prospector. He lives in Faro, and happens to rent to my adult daughter. After talking for a half hour or so I asked him this. “After all you time in the bush have you ever encountered anything strange, spooky or paranormal?” His answer was, no. If there is a species out there in the wild places I believe they live and make use of the many cave systems. Hidden doorways, vast chambers and routes that allow for unseen travel. They venture out for food etc, but do not live above ground. They’d have been found if so.

That's an interesting theory, and the idea of cave systems providing cover and travel routes is definitely plausible when considering how elusive some species can be. Your prospector friend's experience is valuable and fascinating, but as well-traveled as he may be, it's important to keep in mind that even a lifetime in the bush only scratches the surface of North America's 300 million acres of wilderness. There are vast, untouched areas that remain unexplored, and countless species are still being discovered every year, some in regions thought to be well-studied. His perspective is insightful, but it doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility of something unknown lurking out there.

Im a deer hunter and use trail cams. They take good pics and better video. Why haven't I seen a clear video of a sasquatch? I get video's all the time of other people or hunters that have no idea they were being filmed. Is Bigfoot the smartest creature on earth? I say no, he just doesn't exist

That's a rather ignorant take. Look up that footage of someone snapping photos of spiders, and them flinching every time. Or try to take pictures of a skittish cat or dog. They'll notice every time you point your phone cam at them. They can SEE the light emitted, that WE can't. Hell there are SHRIMP who can see things we couldn't dream of. One explanation is that there’s over 250 million acres of wilderness between the U.S. and Canada and the population of these creatures in North America has always been estimated to be at most a few thousand (as opposed to almost 1,000,000 black bears, 35 million dear, 55 thousand brown bears) - given primates generally don’t procreate at high levels to begin with. So basically a dense endless wilderness + tiny population + an intelligence above a chimpanzee. There are a lot of hikers, hunters, and campers that will tell you they’ve never encountered bears despite knowing there’s hundreds of them in the area they’re trekking.

It is not that hard to explain why photos haven’t become better in recent years. Most Sasquatch sightings last a few seconds only. Even the most handheld device-addicted teenager would have a hard time, pulling a phone out of his or her pocket, turning it on, switching it to camera mode and taking a picture within that timeframe. Further, most cell phone cameras are designed to take pictures at relatively short range and are focused more on including an entire group in a selfie then in having a photo lens that can zoom to obtain detail at significant distance. Most Sasquatch sightings occur early or late in the day or at night when lighting is poor, making photography very difficult and resulting in blurry, pixelated photos because of slow shutter speeds and high ISO numbers needed to capture anything in low light. Finally, many, if not most, Sasquatch eyewitnesses report. they were simply so astonished and surprised that they didn’t even think to pull out their phone or a camera to get a picture beforethe creature moved out of sight. That is quite easy to believe because most Sasquatch witnesses were not people that believed in it before their sighting and we’re not expecting anything unexpected to occur at that point in time.

My name is Adam, I’m an attorney from Florida, and I just wanted to chime in and say that this is a great video, but with a small caveat or two. The only “big” mistake I can see is the use of the Dyatlov Pass story. I’ve studied that incident carefully over many years and, while I acknowledge the possibility of a Sasquatch type creature being involved, it’s slightly more probable that a local tribe’s person or three, led by one with serious mental illness, were armed and attacked the group. But there are problems with this theory as well, which I acknowledge, but suffice it to say that there’s nothing available to group that particular story in with anything close to “proof” or “undeniable evidence”. It’s pure speculation and it’s tenuous at best. The only other small note is that you should have delved a little deeper into the arguments against the evidence presented. I’ve always made sure to examine evidence from both sides of the argument to get a sense of who’s most likely correct, and I can say with confidence that the arguments against the evidence presented is FAR weaker than the arguments supporting the veracity of it. In other words, presenting more of the arguments against your position would have strengthened your position. And please don’t take this the wrong way. It’s only because of how good your video is that I thought it merited some small notes for your consideration (whether you agree, disagree, or ignore entirely). Anyway… I really enjoyed this video and I look forward to more in the future. PS: as far as the video of Patty, I’ve always tried watching it while considering that it is a costume. Firstly I watched while considering it as a one piece costume, and then I watched it as if the bottom part of the costume is pulled up like pants and the top part of the costume slides over top of the bottom. One of the main reasons I’ve concluded that it’s not a costume is because there’s absolutely no sign of bending or folding of fabric when the creature lifts its legs. Especially the visible right leg. As the leg nears the torso, it’s very clear that if it was a costume, there would be fabric bending or folding…. That and where tf is the costume? There’s never been any explanation that I could find that says where and why it was disposed of, and the inability of the guy that “made the costume” to reproduce it is laughable. My one question then is “if we assume that the guy claiming to have been inside the costume AND the guy claiming to have made the costume are lying, what were their true motivations, and who nudged them (if anyone) to get involved?” It’s almost like those two were insulated from questioning and scrutiny. It definitely warrants further investigation if possible at this point.

@@cabininthewoods517 A good place to start about debunking the skeptics would be an episode of the MonsterTalk skeptical/scofftical podcast that featured a physical anthropologist whose name I cannot remember, but her day job was promoting science and the theory of evolution to counter creationist religious dogma in education (which is certainly a reputable and important undertaking - Science has been under attack in recent years and should not be supplanted by extreme and fervent beliefs in bronze and iron age mythology). The podcast host Blake Smith and the anthropologist proceeded through a lengthy list of all of the so-called reasons that they claimed proved Sasquatch could not exist. Almost every one of those debunking claims were laughable, aside from the obvious one, lack of a body. For instance, they exclaimed “There would be no food available in these environments to support the existence of a 400 pound omnivore!!“ So, in other words, bears could not exist either. They claimed the lack of fossil evidence proves Sasquatch could not exist, ignoring Gigantopithecus and Paranthropus, as well as the rarity of fossils forming in certain environments, plus the absence of a strong fossil record for gorillas or chimpanzees. The lack of scientific method utilized in that podcast episode was astonishing. By the logic they employed, if they were either ignorant of facts and evidence or pretended that the facts and evidence didn’t exist, that somehow proved their point. For instance, they claimed Sasquatch was a modern pop culture phenomenon that didn’t exist prior to 1958, ignoring the hundreds of 18th, 19th and 20th century accounts of hairy giants “escaped gorillas,” and wild men living in the woods (See e.g. The Historical Bigfoot by Chad Arment, as well as several books by Timothy Renner).

You're making a quite compelling case! I've written of that all as legend, hoax, fairytale, and beliefs of simple minded for some time. But now, as we are discovering more and more relatives to homo sapiens in Europe and Asia, one can make the case that there certainly were more and may survived. Given the fact that various human species shared existence for most of the time one could argue that some lasted until now. But I think this case lacks definite proof, still. But at least it isn't as stupid as I thought, quite compelling - and I have to admid, it's entertaining.

Just a heads up...I wouldn't use David Paulides as a trustworthy source. Even for quotes from people he's interviewed. Some have said that he took their words out of context, and even in a few cases, he made stuff up. Not to mention, he leaves important detail out of cases in his Missing 411 that would help to provide reasonable conclusions for what happened to the missing people. And his indicators for things that are common in Missing 411 cases all have reasonable explanations. Like most people who go missing wear bright colors. Well, most people go hiking in the summer, where people often wear bright colors. Or that hunters are very likely to go missing. Well, hunters go in the woods more often than others. All of his indicators are exactly like these, and as a former detective, he is very disingenuous about it. Because he should know better. He's just trying to make it sound mysterious when in reality, 99% of his Missing 411 cases are anything but.

Known creatures appear on trail cams frequently because they exist in large populations, are less intelligent, and are not actively avoiding human technology. Sasquatch, on the other hand, is widely reported to be rare, highly intelligent, and possibly capable of detecting and avoiding trail cameras due to their infrared signature or unfamiliarity with the devices. Additionally, much of the terrain where Sasquatch are reported is remote and difficult to monitor comprehensively (300 million acres of wilderness in North America-shockingly much of it devoid of trails cams). The scarcity of high-quality footage aligns with the nature of an elusive, intelligent species rather than undermining its existence.

If I put something strange and unfamiliar in your living room I’m pretty sure you would notice it immediately. I’m not even 100% sure that I am a believer in this myself, however you have to come up with better questions and take the initiative to find the answers to the questions before you throw the idea out.

We had an encounter at Mt Baker Washington in September 2003. We were at a forest service primitive campsite. A single loop near a fast flowing stream. It was free, first come first serve, so we got the longest parting site for my rig, nearest the water. There was a sloping weaving trail down to the fire ring about 50’ away and a 20’ drop. We had collected lots of deadfall for that evenings fire. The spot was spectacular. As the sun began to set over the mountain we started our fire and took a seat on large logs placed there around the steel 6’ ring. The water was very loud but you could still hear nature. The edge of the stream was about 25’ away, and the stream itself about 30 yards wide. Around dusk we heard a few tree knocks across the stream about 75 yards away. I was continually glancing across the water scanning the scrub and trees for any signs of movement. Then I saw it. I had to do a double take just to be sure my mind wasn’t just creating a scene in my minds eye. Then it moved slightly and I quietly told my wife to look. I had to explain where to look, not wanting to point and have it slink away. She literally gasped and said “I see it.” My 11 year old son oblivious to it all said “see what?” I said Bigfoot. He stood up and said “Shut up” and immediately looked across the stream. At that moment it disappeared. The next morning I crossed the stream on a fallen tree. My wife had me walk to the spot where we saw it. There was a horizontal branch that stood eight feet off the ground. I’m 6’1” and reached up and could barely touch the branch with a slight hop. The night prior the Bigfoots shoulders wet at least 6” above the branch making it about 9-10’ tall. The ground was rocky so there were no visible tracks. We spent the day and it never returned.

I heard a couple of those calls last year above Alder Lake in Washington state. It was late in the night. I couldn’t believe how loud it was. Those vocalizations that have some quotes about language sound like they’re in the range a human could create. That’s what was so crazy about the calls I heard. No way could a human reach that depth of pitch or belt it out with that volume. It carried a long way and I heard a faint answer. That was all I heard.

I appreciate the work and analysis you are doing in your video series. A few suggestions and comments: 1) Your videos feature a number of fairly impressive videos and photographs that appear to be of Sasquatch. However, for most of them, you do not identify them. It would be helpful and useful for you to put a note in the corner of the screen for each one of those photos or videos, indicating the year, the location, the individual taking the photograph or video, and a source where one can find the best available copy of that photo or video online. 2) Although you mentioned that Dr. Melba Ketchum‘s DNA study was controversial and not accepted by some mainstream scientists, I think you gave it a little too much credibility. On its face, to the non-scientist, her main conclusion seems very implausible, that Sasquatch is hybrid of Homo sapiens and a lemur. I noticed you didn’t mention that in the video. I also noticed that you neglected to state that virtually every Sasquatch researcher who contributed biological materials to Dr. Ketchum’s study subsequently had severe regrets that they did not either keep some of the materials or submit them to a more thorough, experienced DNA lab. For a good critical review of Dr. Ketchum’s study, listen to Cliff Barrackman’s and James “Bobo” Fay’s Bigfoot ‘n Beyond podcast episode 125 featuring Dr. Haskell Hart. 3) I think you give a bit too much attention and credibility to the works and opinions of David Paulides. I think it is important to mention that Mr. Paulides‘ career in law enforcement ended because he was caught engaging in dishonest conduct; for details do a Google search. While I cannot say that I am familiar with all of his work, from the several podcast interviews of his that I have heard, he is extremely quick to suggest a mysterious or nefarious cause behind deaths and disappearances, rather than the much more ordinary and reasonable explanations. For instance, when he was on the Into the Fray podcast, he tried to claim there was some mysterious force or entity causing college students in Lacrosse Wisconsin to drown in local bodies of water. In contrast, the facts that he suggested point far more to accidents while intoxicated, or suicide by a stressed-out college student who had suppressed his depression and anxiety symptoms to friends and family. Paulides is all about the sensational, plain and simple. 4) Justin Smeja does not present as a truthful person. I ask anyone that has seen an interview with him a simple question: would you trust him to babysit your children? I think most people would answer in the negative and the reason would be that he simply did not pass the gut instinct test for being honest and responsible. I once attended a professional educational conference where one talk was given with the title “How to avoid bad clients.“ The speaker stated that in talking with over 20,000 professionals , every single one admitted having a bad gut instinct the first time that he or she met with any of the three worst clients that he or she had ever had. Gut instinct is the subconscious appreciation of subtle signals other people give off when they are lying, being manipulative, or otherwise lacking integrity. To me, Justin Smeja presents as no more believable of a Bigfoot eyewitness than known fraud and hoaxer Rick Dyer. The single, most important characteristic of any individual who engages in the study, research or analysis of the Sasquatch phenomenon is not the individual’s woodcraft skills, photography and technical skills, tracking abilities, or expertise in wildlife biology or primatology. The most important characteristic is credibility. The single largest impediment to the acceptance of the Sasquatch phenomenon by science and the public has been the lack of credibility of some researchers or witnesses, and the occurrence of too many hoaxed incidents. I think it is incumbent upon anyone who takes this topic seriously to promote credible evidence, and when discussing questionable evidence, to do so with a healthy dose of skepticism, objectively and fairly. The emphasis should not be on whether an occurrence is interesting, but rather whether it possesses the characteristics of reliable, credible evidence. I appreciate the fact that thus far in your videos, you appear to be embracing the theory that Sasquatch is a flesh and blood biological creature, a relict hominoid. The alternative theory, referred to in the Sasquatch research community as belief in the “woo” suggest that there is a paranormal, supernatural , extra dimensional, or extraterrestrial element to the Sasquatch phenomenon. I feel that those in the “woo” community negatively impact the credibility of the study of Sasquatch in general. Simply because Sasquatch is an exceedingly elusive creature does not mean that it is not a flesh and blood biological entity. Salt Fork State Park naturalist and Sasquatch researcher John Hickenbottom commented on a podcast that he grew up in the woods as a hunter, and he has had experiences where Whitetail deer seem to vanish. Yet he does not feel there is any more paranormal or supernatural an aspect to Sasquatch than there is to a Whitetail deer. Wild animals simply have adapted to be excellent at concealment and camouflage. I personally spoke with Hickenbottom at the 2022 CryptidCon on the rather implausible connection between Sasquatch and UFOs, and he had a very rational explanation. Because Sasquatch is known to be very curious about unusual activity in its environment, and is curious about what human beings are doing, it would similarly be interested in and would approach any sort of mysterious lights in the sky, or human beings observing lights in the sky. That simple, known curiosity is a much more plausible explanation than there is any sort of connection or relationship between Sasquatch and any beings or entities that may be piloting UFOs. I think it is important to give credence to the Occam’s Razor principle in the study of Sasquatch. We should not, as the proponents of the Woo theory claim, attach paranormal, supernatural, extra dimensional, or extraterrestrial origins to the study of Sasquatch merely because proof of their existence is so difficult to obtain. The simplest explanation, that there is a relict population of yet unrecognized hominoids living in remote areas of North America, is the best explanation. And Occam‘s Razor also applies to eyewitness sightings as well. One must ask if there were only a few eyewitness encounters whether other explanations might not be more likely. But given the thousands of reliable and similar eyewitness accounts of a tall, broad shouldered, hair-covered bipedal primate larger than any typical human, that did not have the characteristics of a standing bear, it does not seem likely that these observations can be explained away by hoaxes, misidentification or mass hallucination. The simplest explanation is that these thousands of eyewitnesses are viewing a genuine primate.

I am a big fan of Cliff Barackman, his podcast and overall approach to the study of Sasquatch. In addition to listening to every episodeof his podcast, I’ve met him twice in person and corresponded with him by email several times and he is simply a smart,down-to-earth Individual who shares (or has been the source of) nearly all of my thoughts and beliefs on the topic of Sasquatch. One thing in particular that I agree with is that one of the biggest problems in the study of Sasquatch is the excessive egos of some of the people involved. Barackman obviously knows firsthand far more of these unpleasant feuds and rivalries than merely the original famous one between John Green and Rene Dahinden. His comment that the territorial behavior of some researchers in hoarding evidence obtained, has set back research on the subject that could have been assisted with greater levels of cooperation and sharing. I really agree on this. At some point, probably when I retire, I intend to put together an extremely detailed treatise on Sasquatch and the study of Sasquatch. I plan to use academic level footnoting and references to satisfy the most dismissive professors. One of the topics I will discuss is the rather astonishing closemindedness of academia and science to the possibility of Sasquatch. I also have some ideas on Sasquatch that have never before been published, at least to my knowledge, yet I am not keeping them to myself until my book launches. For instance, I previously mentioned on the topic of how Sasquatch could avoid discovery, the example Hiroo Onada and other Japanese soldiers who disbelieved the end of World War II and continued to fight the war and evade discovery and capture until the 1970s. I also shared and properly accredited the theory on UFOs and Bigfoot as told to me by John Hickenbottom. And I’ll give another one that I think needs some commentary. I’ve never heard of anyone raising this point: looking at the PG film, doesn’t it seem as if the horses were reacting to a genuine, dangerous predator rather than simply a man in a costume? I don’t know enough about horses to have an authoritative opinion on that, but I’ve posted that question several places online in the hope of getting a more knowledgeable person to render some expertise on the subject. I suppose some of my interest in the topic of the study of Sasquatch is purely selfish. I get rather annoyed with the dismissive treatment in the mainstream media of the topic of Sasquatch as being no more realistic or suitable of a topic for adults than belief in the Easter Bunny or Great Pumpkin. His only claim is that 2 of his relatives saw the suit in the trunk of his car. Not very strong evidence against in my mind especially considering he also claimed to come out with his story when he discovered others were profiting off of their stories (I assume it was P-G) and he wanted a piece of the pie.

@@frankbeans1269 Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin did not make any money or profit to any real extent. Patterson did try to promote the film and make some money, but it does not seem that he ever made much from it in the several years between the films creation and his death. Certainly during the early decades following the film, Bob Gimlin made nothing at all. I believe in the past decade, he has probably had some travel expenses, hotel stays, and meal money comped to him for being a guest speaker at some crypto zoology convention, and possibly received some speaker’s fees. However, those who know him have stated that he has never made a dime off of the PG film, his version of events has remained 100.00% consistent from 1967 to the present; and virtually every person that knows him states he is an exceptionally upstanding, honest individual. I think these several individuals who claim to have worn a suit for Roger Patterson were merely attention-seeking types who wanted their 15 minutes of fame. I think there may also have been some wealthy skeptic who offered a reward to anyone who could show proof that Patterson faked his film. I cannot recall the exact show or episode, but there was an older documentary about Bigfoot, either at the time of the History Channel show MonsterQuest or before it, in which a stern, gray-bearded anthropology professor from University of Chicago, was asked his opinion on the PG film. He scoffingly and contemptuously spat out “it’s a man in a monkey suit!“ Interestingly, he did not offer a shred of proof to support that claim. He probably knew very little about it because most academics are too afraid of being mocked by their colleagues to do any actual research on the Sasquatch phenomenon, and instead dismiss it out of hand. When most people claim that the PG film has been debunked, I believe they’re referring to bald faced, unsupported claims by academics like the one I just mentioned, as well as the claims of several individuals seeking to show Roger Patterson may have obtained a costume. One point the skeptics never mention, and I don’t believe was mentioned in this video, is there was additional evidence to support the veracity of the PG film, namely, the trackway that the creature left out of the creek bed in up the hillside. Dr. Meldrum has commented on those Footprints being anatomically, consistent with an actual non-human primate, climbing up the hillside, and I believe the hill was steep enough that a man in a costume would not have been able to climb it, particularly with some sort of stomper feet to produce hoaxed footprints.

Actually Reinhold Messner showed in a several events that he thinks the Yeti is a specific Himalayan bear. He has done so about 10 years ago. There was also a documentary about it. So his standpoint is quite clear.

Reinhold Messner’s hypothesis about the Yeti being a specific Himalayan bear is certainly interesting and has been popularized through his work. However, many of the purported Yeti footprints and eyewitness reports describe features and behaviors that don’t align with known bear physiology, such as upright bipedal movement and distinctly human-like characteristics. It’s a compelling debate, but the evidence seems to point beyond just bears.

I just want to stay to the facts and his standpoint is that he weekends convinced it is a bear. I have only seen a documentary about the topic with him and knew we made some events about the truth of the Yeti. So he seem not to be colonised n the camp mythical unknown creature. But misidentified very rare known bear species. I am in no specific believe but I like to stay to the facts. If there is something we have to preserve it like the rest of nature. We have to live with nature not against it.

I remember reading his book, and he seems to think one of the Tibetan dialect word means bear. He never had a clear sighting either, but saw something at night. I don't think he's knowledgeable enough to give that opinion, but a lot of sightings by natives do seem to include local bears.

The problem with all of the news articles that declared that the yeti was just a bear is that they were based solely on DNA analysis of suspected yeti hairs. The studies did not prove that yeti was a bear, just that the alleged yeti samples were from a bear. That’s not the same thing, but the media misinterpreted those test results and declared that the yeti mystery had been solved.
