Sadly this isn't true. Only her fans and a few people know she writes her own music. WE know how much she write, unlike most artist who have a team and "write" their own songs. So people generally class her in that group and never credit her fully.
@mijalakis33 жыл бұрын
She has always said that she would never sing a song that is simply handed to her. The only songs she performs that were not written and produced by her are covers and she picks this ones because at some point in her life that song spoke to her, but Mariah Carey is the writer of 18 #1 songs, the producer of 15 #1 songs and many has said that if Mariah covers your song that is not your song anymore, her arrangements are amazing I'll be there, I wanna know what love is, Open Arms, Bringing on the heartache (in this cover she mimics the background guitar of the original Def Leppard version with her whistle) Endless Love ft Luther Vandross and Without you which is her most successful cover. Mariah was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2020 and she is recipient of the BMI Icon award for prolific Songwriting skills there's even a small study conducted by a University in 2006 that placed Mariah as the artist with the smartest lyrics, very verbose, and it can be as abstract as wind or as relatable as TV Commercial. Many can whistle but none like Mariah Carey. Her lowest live note is an F2 and her highest is a Bb7

I mean even the Legendary Stevie Wonder. Who said “When people talk about the great influential singers, they talk about Aretha, Whitney and Mariah”. Not to mention having 19 #1 hits on the Billboard hot 100 (Most by any solo artist in history) and being one of the best selling artist of all-time. She is more than just whistle notes. She creates her music. Writes her songs. She has actually written or co-written almost every song that has ever appeared on her albums. And is acknowledged by the World Music Awards, as the biggest-selling recording artist of the Millennium (1990-1999). First ever female artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, first ever female Pop/R&B singer to collab with an rapper with her iconic hit “Fantasy” ft the legendary ODB (RIP), Five-time Grammy Award Winner. I think her whistles sound so good, not just because she’s super skilled, but also because her voice type and condition. She has vocal nodules which are probably the reason she always had this access to the whistle register or vice versa… maybe she overused that register as a child until she developed vocal nodules. Either way, most of the time, her whistles would be more accessible when the rest of her voice is in bad condition/sick/tired. And she would use her whistles less when she uses upper belting more.
