That whole area must smell like absolute heaven afterwards with all the freshly mown grass. I love sitting outside and smelling the grass after I mow my lawn with the reel mower, since it doesn't pollute. The cut with a reel mower compared to a normal disc blade is so much cleaner and healthier overall for the lawn since it cuts it like a scissor and doesn't tear it like a disc. It gives off a sweeter smell in my opinion. Anyways, I would love to be there after to smell that air. Too bad no one has found a way to bottle up those smells and make a cologne, cause I would sure buy it, lol.
@Datdudetd4610 жыл бұрын

I think, that's because the FPS of youtube video is in sync with tractors' wheel rotation. Also at 0:49 you can see the wheels turning backwards, while they are definitely NOT turning backwards. It's just framerate vs. rotation speed coincidence.

Gamerchannal1 if you have a reel you can do it about this fast with modification:: here is howw to modify an existing reel mower with a belt to raise its cutting height: use any belt but a tie down belt with cam locking is preferred . now wind it around the roller, or the rod the roller rotates on or if the mower has side wheels the "crossing rod" and then through the "hole" in the handle and cinch it. this can raise the cutting height as high as 6". the tighter the cinch the higher the cut. this means you need mow say only every couple of months rather than every the week if you desire/// two more advantages of this mower is that there is no need to pick up sticks, pine cones & etc as one can mow over them. (if you want you can rake these items after you’ve done so). number two as it only skims or tops the lawn it goes FASTER than a gas mower since there is less friction. this mower therefore can cut a bigger yard then a gas walk behind ./////a word of caution my belt invention works best with wider say 20″ mowers as its weight keeps it from bouncing. on narrower mowers one will have to add weight on the roller bar or cut higher and slower than you'd like.

@scottwessel349811 жыл бұрын
that is not grass being mowed, and this machine is not made for mowing grass in the sense that you are thinking of. That is a hay field. It appears to be alfalfa, and the rows will later be raked together after they dry with a large hay rake and be baled up into large bales to feed to livestock, or will be chopped into silage, also to feed livestock. The damage done by the tires is miniscule when compared to the size of the field, especially if the ground is dry.
@user-kn3cy1oz9x11 жыл бұрын
It's neither hay nor silage, it's freshly cut what looks like alfalfa. If you dry it to about 80-85 % dry matter than it is hay. If you leave it wetter than that and pack it and cover it airtight with plastic , a fermentation process will than take place and it turns into silage.
