My friend used to think deodorants are for female only. One day our manager asked me to tell my friend "some colleagues and costumers are complaining about his body odor". It's not easy to tell to someone something like this so I came up with an idea. I told my friend "some people are stupid, they think you aren't humble; they think if they make you some suggestions they are going to hurt your feelings". My friend said "that's ridiculous, I am open to any constructive criticism". I added "people want you to put some deodorants before coming to work. It also works better when you shave your underarms hair. " He was like ..... "that's it?" Since then he changed. I never go out without making sure he put some deodorants on him. He smelled really good. My manager asked me how did I do it? I said "I boosted his ego and called you dumb and I called him the smartest, and he is now proud to prove you wrong." It's a win-win.

problem with THAT is: 1) are they speaking🗣️🎤 LOUDLY enough so that, say, other restaurant patrons - or others who are around - wherever they are, can hear their conversation?? 2) if the other people around are total strangers, HOW would they ever know WHERE to go?? or to tell the police to go?? so that she could be rescued!!😨 [but considering the FRAKKED up, almost totally *dangerous state* of the police forces in the USA, *never* call them IF there are other viable options.] which means that was VERY bad advice!🤦🏾‍♀️...unless she confronts him at a diner or other place of business - where she knows the owner(s) and/or employees who know HER..and who are *always* hovering about + they would ALSO have to be very astute!😯 otherwise, it's *CURTAINS!!,* for that woman!😮😬😣

She's right about meeting someone in public to confront him about his name!! She also needs to let someone know where she is, what his real name is, and more importantly is have at least 2 friends preferably one male to take her home, and make sure she's safely inside the house. She may want to change her locks on her home BEFORE she tells him! Notify police if able to as most adults don't give you a fake name. Remember that serial killers etc look like the boy next door, not some Frankenstein monster!!!!

Besides, Duke Ellington only had a son (who is dead) and would have been in his 60s when she was born. Also, her father was in the Army before taking a job as an electronics engineer in LA at Stevie Wonder's radio station. She's super private about her personal life so not much is known... but we'd have known that.

@@j.a.8969 And you'd be completely and utterly wrong(that generation is the one that conflates the 2, hence the OP's joke)... Since 1968, when Congress passed, and President Lyndon Johnson signed into law, the first federal hate crimes statute, the Department of Justice has been enforcing federal hate crimes laws. The 1968 statute made it a crime to use, or threaten to use, force to willfully interfere with any person because of race, color, religion, or national origin and because the person is participating in a federally protected activity, such as public education, employment, jury service, travel, or the enjoyment of public accommodations, or helping another person to do so.

@@geelee1977 I'm not saying that generation defined hate speech. I'm saying that hate speech has been covered up under the defence of freedom of speech, not by Congress or by the federal government, but by people who freely use hate speech and think nothing of it. I believe the generation you are referring to (millennials?) is the one that regularly goes around drawing lines (ergo, making distinctions) between right and wrong, like hate speech or free speech. The same generation that grew up getting (but did not invent) participation trophies.

@@j.a.8969 What I am saying, is that, that generation, are the ones that are most often guilty of conflating the two incorrectly. Sounds like to me, that you're now moving the goal posts(initially claiming: "I'm pretty sure that's the generation made the distinction *in the first place* "), being as it is clear your initial premise is blatantly incorrect. Are you from that generation? If so, let me help, the proper response is, "Ahh, I stand corrected, thank you." Beyond making you take a bath, eat, and wipe your rear end, ego has no value at all my friend.

That BO first question "Is she sure she's not smelling herself?" is legit. I joined a book club and kept smelling this odor and thought it was the woman next to me. I get home and I smell the odor again and realize it was me. I was traversing a low episode with my depression and hadn't showered in a few days, but didn't really bother to check what I was putting off. I had joined the book club in an effort to pull myself out of the low.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this one. I'm a married woman and if some guy has a vacation pic on fb, I'm thinking "woot! Vacation! Like!". He's nuts to feel uncomfortable around her when a) he posted the picture and b) he's gotten no inappropriate vibes in person. Trust THAT. Clicking like isn't hitting on you!

@@apurvapatel1013 I think if that’s all it was, they wouldn’t have made such a big deal out of it being shirtless. Why even mention that if it’s not a factor? But I’ll play Devil’s advocate. If it makes them uncomfortable for people to look at their old pictures, maybe they shouldn’t leave old pictures up.

He only felt uncomfortable because she was a married co-worker who presumably he was only surface friendly with. Even if you are perfectly comfortable under certain circumstances doesn't mean you are comfortable under every circumstance nor does it mean you have to be. But Leslie had a point about having all your co-workers/classmates, etc... as friends on social media. It's a common trend that can lead to bad things.

My best friend in college did that about the stinkiness. I couldn't stand her when she started playing. She was in first year, i was in second. She told me straight up one day that i had been playing ball all day and then joined basketball practice with the same clothes i had been playing all day.
