Them comparing Byakuya to Light (Death Note) is actually a really good comparison. Both are actually pretty smart and very competent compared to most other characters around them, but suffer from extreme arrogance which will get in their way if not careful.

A better comparison would be Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh. I don't think Byakuya was nearly as competent as Light- and he also never killed anyone (so he's not really a villain like that). Light also was lying to everyone the entire time pretending to be a good guy- whereas Byakuya is just a public asshole.

My favorite moments of all game grumps content is when a game itself gets Dan and Arin to laugh by itself (or a previous joke coming true later in the video, like spider-mans “spider kiss” joke.) or when it’s just so out there and so unnecessarily weird that Arin is cracking up reading it and Dan is just left to say “what the hell is happening?”

The one thing I hate about this "murder" is how painfully ovious it was, but they still prolonged it. Although it is my favourtite trail from D1, it was just too obvious but everyone was clueless. The door was locked from the inside, with no way in or out. It has to have been a suicide, and the game spent 2 hours to get to that conclusion.

I think in canon Chihiro is a cis-boy, but chose to portray himself as a girl so he wouldn't be mocked for being a weak boy. That's why Mondo went out of his way to put Chihiro's body in the girls' locker room, because he still hadn't revealed this to the rest. But yeah it's very confusing. I think if this game were made today they would've handled this differently.

@@thetiniestleaf well thats the issue really, in todays climate what we consider trans now, does that in truth define chihiro?, or is it like i said, is he dressed as a girl to gloss over his weakness but not necessarily trans because you can dress as the opposite gender and not be trans its just clothing that you feel confident in it doesn't necessarily define who you are. Idk i agree they would prob do it different now but would it be correct vs retconing the canon to fit current social political acceptance.

Personal opinion from a trans guy: Chihiro is a cis boy but was portraying himself as a girl, not because he was trans but because he had a weakness complex and thought he wasn't strong enough and couldn't live up to societies expectations of what a boy should be. Poor Chihiro :( I like to think that if he was around in 2021, the world's progression on gender roles would've made him comfortable enough to be himself.

And this is from the lgbt side of the spectrum ( ive met some staunch ppl that would say he's trans no doubt for the sole reason of being able to project themselves onto that character ie Elsa from frozen, a whole argument broke out about her being gay as opposed to just talking to someone other than her sister after yrs of self confinement, honey marin was cute but c'mon the first person elsa can relate to doesn't mean they're a couple the woman is still learning how to socialize normally in her own home) my worry is that would impressionable people see that as a hallmark of "oh well this seems to fit this one community so I must be that" i would hope ppl would still be open to letting people lie within the spectrum without necessarily being defined by it
