I looked into these launchers and I liked what I saw, but one of the biggest drawbacks was the lack of training cartridges. They're expensive so you don't really have much chance to practice unless you've got a lot of cash to burn. I have the Pepperball Blast and it's very easy to practice with. The practice cartridges are much cheaper than the JPX and it's easy to carry in a purse, backpack, or on your belt in a flashlight holster. Plus it doesn't look threatening when you're out in public when it's on your belt. PavaShot has a device similar to the Pepperball Blast called the PavaShot Shot stick. It has a 50 foot range 6 foot plume.

The pepperball blasts make a great accessory on the tip of your less lethal launcher ( Rifles versions ) It’s almost like a bayonet?!

The JPX is illegal in The Socialist Republic of California, or I would pay the high price and buy the four shot for CC. The Blast uses gas to propel the powder, so it may be legal and I will look into it. I don't believe in powder clouds, however, as being practical, as you know. The wind is way more likely to blow powder back into your face than a liquid or gel, and it doesn't stick to you akin like a liquid or gel. Hard to beat the POM, for portability, potency, and ease of use. Thanks for introducing these products to your general audience.

I continue to be amazed at how diverse pepper spray laws are state-to-state. We just moved from FL to TN. Now our tiny pocket pepper sprays are illegal here. The amount allowed TN is very low. I have no idea what type of product would be legal here...yet. The definitions seem quite arbitrary.

The JPX is super cool but aside from being side by side instead of over under it's blast while coned, it's a tight concentrated cone. and doesn't make a cloud barrier. - and both are pricey yes. Some companies offer regular spray sized cans w/ a bear mace trigger/nossle, and that makes a cloud. For $50-sh the mace pepper Gun makes a pretty good cloud but doesn't hang as long as bear mace. I wonder if there will ever be something that is 'perfect' which requires little aditional effort like voice, etc. - or if there should be. ;-]

I had a jpx only reason I got rid of it be because the cartridges cost almost as much as the launcher although I had 2 spare cartridges I could not afford to practice with it ,but hands down I still think it's a best non lethal option cheers from South Africa 🇿🇦

It's definitely a stand-out from all of the other chemical options today. I think there are enough good chemical options right now that we really don't need to seek perfection. Liberation from CO2 and nitrogen is already a reality with pepper sprays. We just need that for the kinetic launchers next.

South Africa has some pioneers in pepper spray. They mount them on cars and houses too. Really innovative stuff spurred on by necessity. That place is really crime-ridden.

@@ScaredyCatTactical a few minutes ago gunshots rang out again it's become a daily thing I live with my family in the middle of 5 rival gangs I moved away from less lethal and saving up to move to our smallholding in the country ( sad thing is 99 percent of the time it's innocent people getting killed on a weekly basis)
