No not at my age, Have I yes many times I was in EMS for 28 years I have taken a lot of weapons from people intent on doing my crew and other harm.

At home I would use my handgun, but for out in the street etc. I would use the non lethal. Less chance of going to prison if you survive an attack. Castle doctrine would not apply to protect you from prosecution.

We tried POM and a BYRNA on each other, and they didn't perform. They'll do fine against someone who isn't determined, but if they're set on getting after you, they'll get after you.

I’ve got pepper spray because it’s far more effective than a taser and if my retreat and pepper spray doesn’t work then the lead spitter comes out with a nice warning and then a fatal single shot.

I do carry 2 Taser X2 in my truck at all times, but they are not a substitute for the 45 in my IWB holster. Stay safe brothers!

I use POM with a stream, not the spray as my non lethal. I also carry a hand held flashlight that can temporarily blind a person at close distance, even in daylight.

In Corrections, we were trained that there is no such thing as "non-lethal" because EVERY use of force runs a small chance of a fatal outcome. Non-lethal means it will NEVER kill. For example, the bean bag gun is an impact weapon meant for compliance, but if you accidentally hit someone in the throat it can kill. I don't mess with blunt object/striking tools simply because I do know martial arts and martial arts will work at the same range as most blunt object. Also because I don't want to have to bother with laws surrounding them. My setup is spray, knife and firearm. Another example is multiple officers without using ANY method other than their hands. This is often called "Enhanced Officer Presence". The idea is to use multiple officers to force the suspect to comply. The George Floyd case is an example of "Enhanced Officer Presence". No weapons were used in that encounter, but unlucky placement combined with being on him too long played a role in his death.

I carry a Walther PDP with rubber/pepperball rounds. It packs a punch. Still need your CC for these in some states. Practice face shots and you have a decent chance at deterring or escaping.

Less Lethal is also a continuum of force. Some are weak and others are strong. I use them all when a firearm isn’t warranted.

Now recently less than one year ago their was a vid on u- tube,where a mugger on table mountain met his maker by being pepper sprayed in the eyes! He was blinded panicked and ran off the mountain tumbling to his death by snapping his neck in the fall!

If you live in a state that respects your 2A rights, get the very best option for self-defense, and carry pepperspray as a less than lethal option. Alternatives to the best are only useful to those who live in states that think their citizens are basically slaves.

Nice and informative video. Well paced kept it Interesting. CO2 powered launchers, interesting. Can’t say anyone should depend on those too much, gases like green gas, CO2 have problems over time with use of a gas and they can lose velocity frequently. O rings become an issue as well. Good video through and through.

Non lethal does make a lot of sense to me here in crime riddled South Africa where you go to jail when you use lethal force or even point a firearm!! Sure you can get out of jail but all the hassles and cost,but hey some of these non lethals might get you booked as well,criminals are protected it is open season on law abiding citizens,criminals are very emboldened by the knowledge of their protected status here in sunny South Africa!

One major problem with fire arm use is that you very well may be in as much trouble as the assailant in many places. Less lethal is much safer from a legal challenge perspective.

Good luck using co2 in cold temperatures like at night, early morning , fall or winter times.

If you are carrying a concealed firearm for protection and you are serious about training with your firearm. If you decide to go “non lethal” for protection you will need to ramp up your training by at least a factor of twenty. Non lethal requires serious training and discipline. Find an instructor that is certified in defensive tactics to include open or closed hand defense.

I had a cop watch me being assaulted by someone with a crutch and I couldn't get him to do anything then I called his supervisor and I still couldn't get anything done to my attacker. I have always been told that I would never be protected by law's, always told that I'm a enemy period. You need to get out of that bubble of privilege and see exactly how free your not. Driving is a privilege you can't access a road without patronizing the automobile industry , you have no freedom to travel. It's also illegal to sleep, and that's a medical necessity central to " LIFE", you know that stuff we are supposed to be guaranteed by the constitution.
