The British royal family are the most famous family in the world. Showing affection doesn’t matter, the Swedish royal family seem nice, but pretty much no one knows who they are, they are no where near as famous as the British royal family.

@@susanmetz9892 Sophie is HRH The Countess of Wessex, her husband is HRH Prince Edward The Earl of Wessex. She is not a Duchess (but is expected to become Duchess of Edinburgh when her husband becomes Duke of Edinburgh upon the death of his father Prince Philip. She can be seen in this video in conversation with the Queens of Norway and Denmark.

The British royal family are more serious at state events, because they are the senior European royal family and they set the standard for the more tin-pot European royals and ex-royals. Moreover, they tend to shun ¡Hola!-type publicity in their public lives and most definitely in their private lives.

I’ve noticed except for the mandatory formalities, European royals are pretty laid back and chill. Most of them married regular citizens. My favorites are Crowned Princess Victoria of Sweden and her gorgeous fit husband and Queen Margarethe of Denmark and her family. Harry and Meghan are the closest in terms of being normal to these royals. I find the British style a bit too stuffy.

Yes I've recently started paying more attention to the Scandinavian royals families particularly Denmark and they do seem to have a more laid back style and their people really love them not to pick sides but the brits could learn a few things Denmark has been around longer after all

Her Majesty likes to stand out and be the centre of attention. In a crowd of queens, she fears she wouldn't be noticed. She is too old now but she did not attend Grace of Monaco's wedding either when she was younger.

Because she needs a good reason to leave the UK, like a state visit or a ceremony. Personal events like marriages or funerals are not relevant enough to require her presence, unless the dead is a former head of state who was important for British foreign relations. Other European monarchies don't have the same policy though. The Scandinavians often visit each other and various kings and queens don't have problems being seen in holidays abroad (Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark all have summer houses in France).
