Best explanation of this sensor I have seen. THANX. 10 years ago when I used these there was nothing out there to explain their functionality. I had no idea there was a trigger delay between triggers. That explains a lot.

Can you use this for a basket ball hoop perhaps? Hows that arcade basketball game work maybe it uses a single phototransistor. I have also seen a light operated theremin that was cool. I want a stripper pole light controller or sound volume control perhaps a "LFO controller"?

How can I use this pir sensor to directly connect to a bulb without Arduino board? Would be of great help if you can show me with the connections?

Hi Ricardo, i am very interesting by this video combining PIR with LDR. I have a project where i want to light on when it is dark (when it is the night only) and when someone is walking in the garden. I don't want to use an Arduino but only an LDR connected on a PIR. Watching your video, it seems that i have the same model of PIR as you. I tried to solder a LDR on the RL plots into the PIR. It is not working properly well for me. Can you help me ? What kind of LDR are you using ? Is there a special PIR model to use the darkness feature (RL plots) on the PIR ? Let me know please thanks

I find these modules poor at close quarters, I guess because the sensor is flooded with I/R and struggles to see a differential. They are great for longer ranges up to the stated range though!

Awesome learn ffmpeg in linux and you can use this to trigger CCTV recordings. To save memory and possibly make DIVX Or XVID videos to save DVR space.
