In this version of the ancient Muay Thai 'break the bird's wing' we flow off the previous lesson, which was against a cross. This one will be primarily against a jab. With the same flow, we block-grab the arm. We can also decide to soften up our opponent with strikes before controlling the arm. Then we bring our leg over to sit on the back again to stabilize and add pressure and make it easier to break the arm or make them tap. Some variations of the finish is presented. What's important is we find the right torque to twist the arm and apply pressure onto the shoulder.
NOTE: This is a self-defense move against an average aggressor with someone who overcommits their arm, giving you a chance to grab hold of it. In the event that your opponent pulls their arm back, then abandon the grab altogether and transition into a more appropriate response.
