Again.....thanks....slowly sinking in, as I said before it's the little bits of explanations in between that makes your lessons stand out. Much appreciated 🖒🙋
Thank you for time, patience and for teaching us this amazing language. Best wishes from me here in the UK.

Hello, I’m having trouble distinguishing the difference in hearing and sounding out the sound between the two characters for the bag and flag characters. The 22 and 24th characters. The tho thung and tho thong. Feeling a little tone def. is there a way to tell them apart better? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

22.) ถ - The first part is a drawn out 'taw' with a long rising tone. Second part is a short rising tone pronounced like the English word 'too' with an 'ng' (or ง) on the end of it. 24.) ธ - The first part is a long mid tone pronounced 'taw' (Same pronunciation as the first part of letter 22 above just using a different tone). The second part is a short mid tone pronounced like the English word 'toe' with the 'ng' sound (or ง) after it. Hope that helps! Let me know if any further clarification is needed.

Thanks for sharing. Always good to teach. So, with all Thai words do they say each letter to make up a word? I will take me a year to learn just the alphabet. sigh

Hi Dave I’ve downloaded the Thai alphabet with character and picture. ด shows pic of child ต shows pic of turtle ก shows mental image of a chicken but ฑ Montgomery shows a picture. Is that a lady in traditional clothes? How would you describe Montho in English? Adrian, Canada
@davevoetberg6 жыл бұрын
Hi Adrian, Montho would be a female character from a book.

It's going great thanks. Thank you for taking the time to help us learn. If possible it would help greatly if you didn't obstruct the whiteboard while you're explaining the meaning. Great teacher.(re-affirm that) you do severely obstruct the board. I know you don't intend to but it's almost like your want to block the board as you explain what it is your blocking us from seeing.
