Question, when you slap, is the string supposed to hit the fretboard?

yeah, the 20th fret is a bit up, you need to slap right at the end f the fretboard

+Detonics&Woodsman i have the same problem, string always hits the last fret and it makes the worst sound ever plus i plug in directly to sound interface which helps it in sounding even worse, my volume is all the way up on bass but the sound is so shitty and low that almost nothing can be heard :(

how do you get the speed to do the inverse gallop I just can't get that fast

Just practice the slower version before it, practice a lot. Like...a lot. Then when it's easy peazy, try the faster version. If you practice the slower version enough, there's a small chance you can do the faster one without having to practice it. If that's not the case, then practice the slow version with the fast mixed in.
