Thanks for making this video. I respect the talent this takes - and the in-depth musical understanding. For what it’s worth - if your intention is to teach - calling the true chords can make it harder for people that don’t have a music education(like myself).

Hey Dave! First of all great lesson! I've been wanting to figure this and other Doobies tunes out by ear on the keyboard, but the Rhodes kinda throws my ear off. Do you have any advice for picking out all those 9ths 11ths and 13ths? 😅

Starting out, you should just just try to pick out the notes you hear, going one by one,. Over time, like anything, you start to hear if not 90 percent of what's going on and just add, if any, what is missing.

You always call chords relative to capo. I don't see the benefit of calling the "actual"chord, when learning this tune. But that's your call,obviously. ...so thanks anyway
