Yeah, I was just about to write that myself. I know here in Alabama especially for the van. He could’ve got the catalytic converter replaced for like $80-$100 here had warranty on it, but I guess it’s different for different states.

I got scammed on three of those Kia Fortes, these engines spin rod bearings , The dealers just throw in a bearing & it’ll drive for about 15 mins or so before it blows , That happened to me twice in 3 times in 1 week, I no longer buy any Kia or Hyundai

Your state must be strict. I went to a third party motor vehicle service here in Arizona the other day and registered a car that had mileage rollback ( according to the carfax report) with no issues

Honda just needed a title plug,2 car could of sold it as is for 500 profit and converter cheap on ebay and ik someone who was gonna charge me 250 to put it on

Damn I wouldn't even flip cars in a state that makes you jump through those types of hoops - Junking a clean minivan with a good engine/trans for a few hundred bucks over a catalytic converter? Taking $1,500 bucks for an 08 Accord over a typo/clerical error/or even fraud by a different owner??? Here in Detroit we don't have emissions/smog and you can register ANY car even if it's on fire in the DMV parking lot smh.

Yes that's New York for you. I think Cali is probably the only other state as strict with certain things related to cars. But at the same time it is a great market to be in

So if the Carfax report shows a lower mileage than the Carfax value report, will they say its a mileage discrepancy and deny registration? I am about to get an auction car Lexus Es350, I cant afford that mistake rn lol.

Nope the Carfax value is more so an estimate of what it should be. If the full Carfax report shows a certain mileage but the mileage on the odometer or title paperwork is way off that's where it could be a problem

I had a buyer want to pay me with Zelle. I'd never heard of it so said no. I think he wouldn't have scammed me, but unless I know the process 100% , I'm going to pass. Is the company that took the money back on the last car one of thsoe which automatically sides with the buyer(liar) or was there a process before the final outcome ?

Smart decision on your part. Yup I was able to get back some of the money after disputing the case. They mainly took his side for whatever reason though
