@The Cabin Coder I sure as hell wouldn't buy one from him. Valve cover gaskets are easy and cheap enough to make sure the next owner doesn't have to deal with it again. It's always about the profit but I'd rather give myself a good name. I've had people buy more then one car for their families from me over the years with no complaints and these are 15+ year old cars. Even if it means I'm at a loss on a few cars just to make sure I'm selling a good reliable car the profitable ones will make up for it

I'm a bit confused. How did the oil get in on the ignition coil? Usually that happens when the gasket fails, so it would need to be replaced, but you didn't do that. I don't understand how simply cleaning the spark plug well and replace the coil would prevent the issue from repeating in the future.
@vom4164 Жыл бұрын
it doesn't.

The resason why he didnt do that is because it would cost more. What he did was the minimum to make the engine light disapear, he sells the car but the new owner will have the problem repeating as its going to happen again.

He’s covered this before. He’s a dealer which is why he doesn’t list sales tax as part of the flip. For the average person you are LEGALLY obligated to pay sales tax on the purchase(which would be $800ish where I’m at). It changes that profit margin a good bit. In Buddy’s case he only pays sales tax on his profit. Floating the title is illegal and not advisable. Plus the seller of the car would have to be agreeable to it which is becoming less and less likely. Some states require a notary stamp at signature which makes this even more difficult.

The only other part I wish you would discuss and factor into your cost is the cost to title the vehicle and that entire process. I think for many of those who truly have never done this that are considering that part is huge and could shock them.
