That was great! I used a bike bag made by Chrome but to heavy, yours is perfect,the strap is to stable the stuff so that it does not fall toward the top tube and through you out of balance on turns in a city. I am smaller so I need that strap to stable the load around my waist when ridding. I like the light easy to carry so much safer than the bakery bags in the rain. Very cool Looking for one now on amazon. I like the idea of a shoe dryer that Francis Cade uses…. Nothing like starting the day with wet shoes.

I've got three bags like this, two were freebies from Maxxis Tyres, the other a freebie with the Rose Bikes catalogue back when such things were printed. So yes, clever though it might be to fold away so small, £30 is a touch salty.

I've been looking at this bag for a year or two. I like the size, that it folds down and it has a chest strap, but at its current price of £34. Its a bit much for something that isnt going to be as durable as other bags you can pick up for £15-20 that do the same job. Every musette can be folded up nicely and stowed away when empty. But these cheaper ones dont come with chest straps.

According to Apidura’s site the other strap passes under your other arm and attaches to the long strap by your sternum…roughly!
@JulianHutchings

Nope, still don’t get it. Where’s the sternum?

Ohh, great Julian! (BTW: We STILL need news regarding tire pressure)! AND about the Musette: Think the extra strips is for a backpack-function?! Looking forward for more JULIAN-videos!

Nope, still can't sort the strap. A copy of my LeJog book awaits whoever can explain it.

It should have a Pro team logo on it for that much. Usually I carry too much anyway and don't need encouragement to carry more!

It would be cheaper to buy a reusable bag from Waitrose and add velcro straps. I must admit I am too mean to pay for 'real' cycling bags and bought a $2 bag from a local store and added velcro. It looks great on the bike and no one would ever think it was a low priced item.

Just use string bags, free at most events, fit in Jersey pocket or just buy a Velcro strap, way cheaper option

I would say that extra strap goes around your waist to keep the musette from swinging around.

No, not long enough.

...nice. Kinda got fed up with taking one pannier on my day rides. Use a handlebar bag for my camera, and a Carradura rack top bag. This little toughie would be great as emergency space, and to save the zips on my rack bag when out and about. If were cheaper woud be great, as my plastic carrier bags always end up with holes in.Would the extra strap go round the waist to limit the bag swinging round?

That's what I thought, but it's not long enough - and I'm not that fat!

The fly fisherman amongst your viewers know what to do with the “spare” strap 😉 Pass it around your torso and under the arm you looped the other strap over 🤙

It’s not long enough to go around me; that was the first thing I tried. No book for you, I’m afraid.

@@JulianHutchings I usually wear my musette so that the strap is on my right shoulder and the bag is on my right. To have the strap be long enough to go around me I swapped the 'spare strap' to the other side of the bottom of the bag (if you see what I mean; there is a spare loop there) and similarly moved the clip to which it attaches to the other end of the shoulder strap. Works fine.

Go on Julian you milk LeJOG for all it's worth. Love the different parts of the studio, or is that the garage 😂
