Things that I've learned in my 30's: 1. (In the dating scene) No one can play you, you can only play yourself. 2.Your opinion is valuable, even if other people don't think so. 3. You are not too old to do things you like to do. 4. You cannot be friends with someone with a trifling spouse.

Things I've learned in my 30s: 1.) Trust your instincts. Some people aren't good for you no matter how long you may have known them, family included. Fighting yourself trying to work things out with people who don't matter is not good for you. 2.) Accepting that I needed help for my mental state and that seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness, but actually it's a sign of strength. 3.) Being alone is not as bad as society has taught us it is. 4.) Some things are just not for you and that is perfectly okay.

It’s interesting that we as Christians are told about having a "spirit of discernment" but then are forced out of trusting our gut in certain situations and dealing with certain people just to not cause a fuss or make others uncomfortable. Great conversation. I am well pasted my 30s and have learned alot during the decades. What I see in each of you guys is greatness. Melissa: It is clear Melissa isn't a social media girl. But I wonder what is it about social media she doesnt like. However she can still be a powerhouse in any room she occupies because she is intelligent, thoughtful, and just a breath of fresh air. Marcus can do big things if he is allowed the space to be himself because is talented, skilled and funny. Kevin is definitely the Executioner. He gets stuff done and that is a great quality to have. Still, sometimes you can be busy executing all of your ideas and not realizing you are leaving a ton of destruction on the road behind you (Who is gonna clean that up?!). Patience. Angel is phenomenal and I agree she is THAT girl. I want to see her on big stages and screens because she is so talented as an actress, comedian, mother and overall woman. It's good to realize that while you can do ALL of the things, you can't DO all of the things with just the two hands you have. Finding balance is hard sometimes.

So far I'm 3 years into 30, I've learned 3 different things 1. Trust yourself - you'll never steer yourself wrong. 2. Accountability - you are an active participant in life, nothing just happens even doing nothing is a choice. 3. Therapy - I need it to grow and learn more about myself. Facing yourself.

Ohhhhh, Liss you just put concise words to my experience, 4:44. I say that I grew up in a household culture that promoted “when I say jump, you say how high”. That environment wasn’t great for encouraging trust in my own perspective. My personality operates best when believing in itself and that was actively smoked out as a child before age 9. My mom used to tell me that guiding myself would get me in trouble after I’d stepped off course from what she said and I got burned. She was saying I told you to listen, but I heard “my thoughts are dangerous for me” and that my thoughts are incorrect.
