So what’s your take on this? kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqSXc5d9rraketE

I’ve worked in the nhs in some form since 1995… it is a wasteful inefficient machine in which incompetence and lassitude are rewarded and industriousness is actively punished. It is a noble idea, fatally flawed and corrupted in its implementation. I have had patients die due to being actively prevented from treating them due to the fact the government decided we were a National Covid Service and all other disease entities had to fade into obscurity. I’m now dealing with the horrific feed on effects of this- alcoholism, depression, suicide, severe anxiety, untreated psychoses, end stage eating disorders, and so on.

The response to this has been nothing short of shameful. It isn’t boris or Nicola or mark who have to sit there and listen to the stories we do, day in day out. My heart is broken every day listening to these tales. I have one patient who was her elderly, mildly demented and infirm fathers carer for twenty or so years… as he lay dying of cancer in the hospital she was unable to visit him and hold his hand as he died, believing his daughter had abandoned him. His last moments on earth were filled with pain, confusion, despair and the belief his devoted daughter had turned on him. He couldn’t understand that it was ostensibly to stop someone catching Covid. She now fantasises about suicide on a daily basis so she can join him. Doctors, nurses, government should all hang their heads in shame. Whilst I don’t think this is about bill gates trying to chip us, it is a bit coincidental that his foundations Event 201 seminar happened October 18th 2019. Quite the coincidence.

Hi Ollie! Could you please do a video on how doctors decide who gets treated first? For example: during the pandemic equipment and staff are limited so if we had to choose who to treat first how do we do this? Many thanks

The GMC says you should treat in order of clinical need, whoever needs it most goes first

Hi Ollie, Are you doing MBBS or MD. Do you know what the difference is between them?
@OllieBurtonMed3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I'm actually doing an MBChB which is equivalent to MBBS (we have a few variations in the UK but they're all exactly the same - these degrees are a primary medical qualification which allows you to be a doctor). In the USA, the equivalent of the MBBS is the MD - functionally the MD and the MBBS are more or less the same. In the UK however an MD is a further doctoral level qualification (Doctor of Medicine) which is more in line with a PhD and requires years of practice and experience usually - hope that helps!

@@OllieBurtonMed thanks Ollie that helps a lot! I’m a Canadian student, I just finished up my undergrad degree and unfortunately was waitlisted. However, St. George’s University accepted me but I wasn’t sure if the degree is equivalent.
@OllieBurtonMed3 жыл бұрын
@@Vlogkanas Ah okay I get you! I would just say that although the MD and MBBS are both primary medical qualifications, they're not automatically valid between the two countries obviously. A UK MBBS wouldn't let me work in the USA without passing more exams, same the other way around.

Hi Ollie. I thought this video was very informative. I'm going to conduct a series of interviews with different people about the pandemic, for a KZbin series. Would you be interested? Thanks
