Unlimited Blade Works, not sure why but I'd say a part of it is because I was searching for Fate Comic Dubs because I was bored and then I found this: Sir Ian McKellen Reads Anime (Unlimited Blade Works), but the main reason being I can kind of understand and sympathize with the various Shirou's and Emiya's/Nameless if I was in Emiya's shoe's I'd no doubt do the same thing as Shirou and probably do the same as Emiya, I'm already partially there what with feeling like a machine, the depression, and regret of wanting to do things over if I ever get the chance.

I really like the very concept of excalibur, in the OG fsn its established that its one of the strongest sword in the world. Im an Artoria fan and im really curious who will be the grand saber when the lore of excalibur is already established years ago and will grand saber be a servant with the best sword, a person with the best swordsmanship, or both. Heck it would be funny if grand saber is not a humanoid servant but just a sword being summoned by the counter force

I remember how the Fate/Zero English dub actually called Ea/Enuma Elish an anti-universe Noble Phantasm. Then I saw every game after that call it an anti-world. I know it’s probably a translation error on Zero’s part, but when you’re destroying the world by tearing apart the fabric of reality, it sounds like symantecs to me.

It's not a coincidence that the World in Anti-World is capitalized. It refers to the various layers wrapped along the planet.

As much as I love the Gate of Babylon I have to say my absolute favorite noble phantasm would have to be Quetzalcoatl's combination of Pidra Del Sol and Xiuhcoatl Tsareafa from the Babylonia anime. I can only imagine how destructive it would have been if her davinity hadn't been cut by more than half. Not to mention how amazing it was to watch

The ones that show a good depicture of a servant. Iskandar, reality marble, his loyal army Gill, Enkidu, his only friend Emiya, UBW, the weather and environment is his mental state Heracles, 12 revives, his endurance and Persistence. I think ones like beam swords are lazy and look good with no meaning. KOTRT. I also dislike ones that are just tools or have nothing to do with them. Atalanta, berserker, could have been her lion form or the apples. Medea, dagger, LITTERALY no relationship. However I think that excalibur is an exception as whilst it alone has no relation to Artoria, the way is supposedly powers up, the will of all warriors as they die and it is just a weapon not a part of her. The weapon and NP matches with her personality and ideals so well its simply beautiful. But turning her draconian side into an NP would be cool or something to do with her knights but it's still cool.

That Dagger was a plot device for Shirou to escape plot consistency it was more useful to him then Medea herself Atalanta Berserk is a double tragedy not only do we miss out on her FGO sprite incorporating the Boar in her melee attacks but now she's deprived of an alter form which could have used a twist of her legends plus your idea for her Berserker form is solid the FGO one is lazy

tbf I can see why they wouldn't bother to do anything with her dragon core to an NP level. Honestly it would just unnecessarily strengthen her, not to mention when one thinks of King Arthur, dragons don't exactly enter the equation

I kinda agree that beam lasers are a little too much sometimes. However, depending on the legend it can work. For example, I read somewhere that excalibur was said to be able to shine so brightly that it made people blind. Also, Medea's dagger seems to be based on an athame. Athame are ritualistic daggers used for spells and help construct magical circles or even create a door of escape from a magic circle.

@@thirdplanet4471 Yea. I've heard this stuff before two. I was just thinking I don't remember her ever having a DRAGON OR DAGGER in her myths. I think an NP related to her poisonings or her escape or the golden fleece would work. Or literally anything attributed to Jason due to her having been the one to do and obtain those things not him which is literally the point of those myths.

Favorite is probably gate of Babylon as it has so much in it and if gilgamesh wasn't held back by plot every route would end in the casts deaths again and again. After that enkidu as how he works being supplied Mana from the world and making weapons on par with the gate is a sight to see Kojurou while his isn't an np I love it because it shows how with enough skill you can basically match or surpass a servant with how he could have killed saber if she took one misstep in his range. Fgo wise Merlin is probably one of the best looking ones bringing Avalon over to use. Reality marble ones are cooler outside of fgo like in zero and ubw as it's basically the journey up to that person's point Seeing ishkaders army fight by his side and Shirou/Archer's mindset where archer is clouded by his regrets as shirou in ubw is clear minded and has grown with Rin to use the gate to keep gilgamesh at Bay. Bazzet is a cheat honestly. Reverse time to kill the servant before they kill you but in logic she wouldn't be able to last so long even with Angra helping her on servants but does make a cool showing making the more muscle head servants die. Mystic eyes I enjoy as a concept but they gotta either be too strong or too weak for plot especially shiki and Medusa faces who either work and hold down or kill the enemy or don't work for the story to look flashy as everything would look like saber vs medusa round one in hf without plot. Overall a nice anime power move to see used for the cast.

My favorite Noble phantasm as a skill would have to be Koyanskaya of Light's aptitude for slaughter (man). Who knew the grail would grant us access to a servant that literal makes weapons with the express intent to kill anyone that it preserves as human.

I have a question concerning two NP's, Avalon and Enfer Chateau d'if. The way Avalon makes Artoria impervious to damage is by shifting her into the faerie realm, correct? So I wonder, could Dantes' NP allow him to enter said realm via 'escaping' normal space-time?

You are correct on the first point, but I think Dantes’s NP works in the way that it prevents him from being restrained by others. So rather than being able to use it to escape normal space, if Artoria somehow tried to pull him into the faerie realm, he could use it to escape. I could be wrong about all of this though.

That's a good question. I'm not sure if his ability to escape includes being able to escape damage.

Ngl, when you said 'Avalon healed Irisviel, and later, her master Shirou,' I was kind of weirded out for a second. Still really want to see what a mother-son dynamic between them would be like.

Just a little addition: In Diarmuid case in order for him to dispell his NP effect, he needed to destroy his own NP. Normally this is extremely difficult to do even for a servant, but not if it's your own NP. Hence why Diarmuid could just snap his own spear with his bare hands. In theory a servant could regenerate their own destroyed NP but it's very time costing and difficult (we also never saw a servant doing that uptill now, so it's hard to tell wheter they could do it or not). Another note is that Shirou's Emiya UBW is a bad example for a NP, considering it technically isn't one and only "theoretically" could fall in that category in the definition of it being an "ultimate move". In reality it's just a powerfull magecraft infinitely close to true magic . It's also impossible for it to be a noble phantasm as the latter is derived from legends. EMIYA is a counter guardian, he doesn't have a legend, he is a faceless force. If he had a legend then he would not be a counter guardian. Ofcourse gameplay wise it's treated as a NP, just like others who technically don't have NP's like Sasaki Kojirou (nameless wraith), Kiritsugi (as a counter guardian), Prisma Illya.

Huh, choosing a favorite Noble Phantasm is kinda difficult, though I'm gonna have to say Nursery Rhyme. I mean, you can have any fiction characters from your childhood as a Servant. Like imagine having Spider-Man? Although Knight of Owner would be a close second for similar reasons of turning anything into an NP. But the concept that I really do like are those like Zabanya and Tsubame Gaeshi. Skills that the Servant trained themselves to learn in life, that they mastered to the point of being compared to the likes of Excalibur

They would literally not get far because A, not all mages are like FSN Gatorade or Grandfather Emiya who experiment on others, and B, mages would run all over them unless they're actually just super weak. No Magic Resistance = No ability to fight hypnosis or paralysis

I have achieved exactly what I desired from the Apocrypha rerun, acquiring items I was not able to the first time. With about an hour and a half remaining, I decided to take a chance and try the challenge quest despite having only one Command Seal and most of my best Servants being around level 60. And you know what? I beat it. Only cost me the Command Seal and one Saint Quartz. And I WOULDN’T have had to use the latter if not for one thing: Amakusa. F***ing. Shirou. My team consisted of level sixty Mash 10/10/10 NP3 using Ideal Holy King, level eighty Altera 6/2/4 NP1 using Verdant Sound of Destruction, level sixty Kagetora 4/4/4 NP5, using At Trifas, level sixty Abigail 10/4/- NP1 using Limited Zero Over, level sixty-five Cursed Arm 8/8/6 NP5 using Imaginary Around and Support level ninety Edmond Dantès 10/10/10 NP2 using Kaleidoscope provided by my friend going by Tea (It would be a CRIME not to give credit to the one provided him) and I used the original Chaldean Master Uniform at level ten. My intention was to have my forces get rid of Benkei, David, Kintoki and Georgios and then let Dantès annihilate Amakusa. Except, due to the sheer power of David’s sure-hit NP and my own pathetic incompetence, Mash was lost in just a few turns and Abigail came out just in time for her, Altera and Kagetora to get wiped by Amakusa’s anti-army, BUFF-REMOVING NP. That left me with Cursed Arm and Support Dantès. I’ll be honest, Cursed Arm didn’t do a whole lot though he hung on with Protection from Wind and he made his few blows count. But Dantès…damn. He DEMOLISHED the other side, breaking Amakusa’s first health bar, draining his second down massively and destroyed each and every enemy Servant except ironically the one I brought him for. He WOULD have defeated Amakusa too, (thanks to Hassan’s sacrifice and my Command Seal) if not for one goddamn problem: Divine Judgment, followed by NP. And then they just twisted the knife by having him survive the NP, only to be defeated by one more attack. I was…displeased, to say the least, but torn. I’m saving up for Morgan and her Fairy Knights, and I only have 142 (now 141) Saint Quartz. I’m so very sorry my Queen, I beg your forgiveness. Mash, Altera and Kagetora barely suffered an ounce of damage the following few turns and Altera successfully crushed the irritating Priest. Tea’s Dantès was a godsend and I can’t thank them enough for the help. Sorry I wasn’t able to use him even better.

If I was a heroic spirit, my archer noble phantasm would be like the gate of Babylon, but with only arrows coming out. Think Mami from Madoka Magica going ham on all the witches she went against for my start up position. I love the heck out of how she summons all those gμns out of no where and pretty much OP her enemies, r.i.p to the goat magical girl who just wanted to be a magical girl and help others. ;-; The attack would cause a defence debuff if the enemy doesn't d¡£, and if I'm lucky, stuns them. And for my Caster form, I really like the burst buff Nahida from Genshin impact does, so instead of the cage increasing dendro effect, mine would heal everyone. For my start up, I would be on my knees in a normal praying position, look up at the sky (Van Gogh style but more at peace). The cage would shatter and disappear in a snow flowing down like fashion. Healing and buffing my allies (Heal 500% HP, remove some debuffs, and give the debuff resistance and attack up).

Nice vid. Ok so generally a master needs to provide their servant the mana needed for their NP. This should mean a mage can have enough mana for a NP. Then what differs the NP from anything else a mage can do?

Just a hypothetical thought that came to me when writing a story involving Mordred and Artoria, but wouldn't Mordred be uniquely suited to taking Artoria's Excalibur, if not other Noble Phantasms she might possess. Allow me to explain. It's said in Magecraft, forming a connection plays a very large factor in how possible a desired result is to achieve. So, with that in mind: 1) Mordred is still Artoria's child, illegitimate or not, and monarchies are hereditary and is Artoria's only child. I can't remember if Artoria actually named a different successor before her death, so that means Mordred would have become king if Artoria died before her. 2) Mordred is infamous for taking treasures that belonged to Artoria, and even though Clarent specifically doesn't acknowledge how she came to possess it, Mordred is still summoned with it. 3) Excalibur was given to Artoria by the Lady of the Lake, Vivian, who recognizes her claim to it, but Morgan is also believed to be a persona/form of Vivian and vice versa, again I believe. Since Morgan created Mordred specifically to overthrow Artoria, I wouldn't think that she'd refuse to acknowledge Mordred's claim to Excalibur. I'm not sure how all the logic stands up since there is a lot of Fate Lore I am ignorant to, and I know that this isn't entire on point with the video, but hearing you mention Mordred and Artoria specifically prompted me to make this post. Also, Mordred is best son.

If it’s just to “activate” a general Original Prototype, then Gilgamesh shouldn’t have any problem even when restricting his Divinity (purer magical energy), Omniscience (knowledge), and Omnipotence (talent). All he has to do is input the magical energy and it activates. It should be super easy for him. He’s just too advantaged. And, the Original Prototypes come out of his treasury overflowing with True Ether or something close to it. One of the primary reasons Gilgamesh is so advantaged in firepower is because he can utilize his Noble Phantasm firepower without having to personally power each treasure. Thus even if Gilgamesh couldn’t “activate” for some reason such as incompatible magical energy, his treasury has demonstrated to be generally capable of it. Handling and True Name releases are different topics altogether. Gilgamesh should be able to skillfully handle the basic functions of his treasures due to Sha Naqba Imuru. But all Original Prototypes are nameless, even Ea is a nickname. So a True Name release is basically impossible unless he cheats or its his personal Noble Phantasm as a Servant. @@0mnituens I believe he can actually use the true name release of most straight forward nps. Basically consider the requirements emiya must meet to activate an np like say Gae bolg throw. Gil too can theoretically meet them, he obviously skips the creating of the np part but can still access the info/familiarity required to activate the true name release thanks to his Clairvoyance. Nps like beamu swords arent so complicated to activate. All one needs to my knowledge is the knowledge of its true name release + the magical energy to actually power the np. Gil has the magical energy, he lacks the info about true name release but that info can easily be gained by using his Clairvoyance. It wouldnt make sense otherwise considering the info we know bout activating nps. That aside, l dont agree that its right to call most nps mystic codes. They r imo far more complicated than that.

Most Noble Phantasms are at their basis a Mystic Code of Limited Function type. If it’s input with magical energy, it performs an effect that would normally require a ritual. Noble Phantasms are “so incomparably powerful‌ ‌as‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌considered‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌league‌ ‌of‌ ‌their‌ ‌own”, and I agree with you that Noble Phantasms are “far more complicated”. It is like comparing a Heroic Spirit (“artificial god”) with a modern human. Many Heroic Spirits were originally humans and still have a mostly human attribute in regards to magical energy. But the Heroic Spirit is still incomparably powerful and complex compared to the human. Secondly, under what situation is Gilgamesh using a Noble Phantasm with a True Name? Are you misunderstanding what Original Prototype and True Name are? Or is this a hypothetical situation?

The others were very forgettable and just starting to create a mush of grat XD. Ya me just seeing a mash and blur of waifus. We dont want to see designs worse than queen drake from arcade and just i dont know make the guys wear reveling clothes or be sexy. I think a interesting story a to take place in the nasuverse would be if someone with strong sense of justice discovered the world of magecraft and all of the horrible things certain mages have done without getting punished for their actions and then deciding to take matters into their own hands and decides that they are going to destroy the entire world of magecraft so that they may face Justice I can think of two ways that this person could go about their goal they could either do it by themselves and focus on them making themselves as strong smart and skilled as they possibly could and learning how to make weapons powerful enough to kill mages and then use that power they've made for themselves to deal as much damage to those mages as possible or they could go about it another way by trying to get as many people on their side to make a group of people whose goal is destroying or exposing the world of magecraft and having wicked mages punished by law enforcement I think it would be a really interesting story either way and since the nasuverse has a multiverse it's entirely possible to have the main character win in destroying at exposing the world of magecraft to the general public without it changing the story of other type Moon works also I think it would be an interesting story to see a normal person without any magic circuits struggle against an entire world of powerful mages to do what they believe is right.

Something always confuses me when it comes to noble phantasm (I don't know if its still canon). NPs are based on the servant's legends that is why they can be conceptual, influenced by their stories, or just straight up nukes. But in some fate works like in babylonia anime, caster gilgamesh who is alive at that time used gate of babylon to fight mash and Anna. The same in his flashback when he fought enkidu. They both use gate of babylon and age of babylon in their fight when it supposed to exist when they are summoned as a servant. And there are some nps that doesn't make sense. Like Siegfried's Balmung, beams are cool but his legend is always ties with dragon slaying and beams as his np doesn't make sense to me. Np's and their lore are cool don't get me wrong.

Gil had his Gate Of Babylon since when he was alive, similarly Artoria could already use Rhomgominyad (and probably Excalibur) when she was alive in Garden Of Avalon, and she actually did use it against Vortigern, you see while some NPs are conceptual and servants only get it after becoming servants other people are just built different and had their powers and could use their weapons while alive, and only got stronger as servants.

Yes, gate of Babylon is something that literally existed for Gilga. Not everyone had their conceptual NPs in life, but for Gilga it just happened to be real.

Before, I thought Gate of babylon is some sort of physical vault because he gave some weapons to mankind (that's why he has a caster form) and some even say that after gil died his treasury was looted that's why it serve as prototypes and he even had a key but then as I dig deeper to nasuverse I just went with the flow (but still read the lores) and just appreciate how cool it looks.
