How about the current uses of modern technology used in magecraft and how different things would be if mages were more accepting of it.
@jmmproductions6741
@jmmproductions6741 Жыл бұрын
Well, modern technology is sort of the enemy of Magecraft and the Mystery in general. The more the modern world continues to advance, and the more we as a people unravel the mysteries of our universe, the weaker the Mystery becomes. Our level of science and understanding has helped weaken the Mystery over centuries. It's part of the reason the Mystery is concealed; so that the effects of its weakening are lessened. It's part of why Magecraft of modern times is only a fraction of what it once was.

Maybe covering meaning behind servant class can be nice so it can give an insight how a heroic spirit can be closer to be grand servant. After following some lore, I felt there some hint grand servant can be choose, for example Hassan I Sabbah being and the only grand assassin because legend about both his name and organization so popular and being use as a word to show he perfect for this class since what really matter to be assassin is about bring death sentence

They are also called Thaumaturgical Attribute‘s, they are a specific property in some mage families that give some sort of effect. Some examples would be one the Edelfelt family who have a sorcery trait called "Sisters" that lets them have two successors that can both inherit the families magic crest which allows both Luvia and her twin sister be the families heirs, two Kirei had a sorcery trait called “Opening Wounds” that made him really good at spiritual surgery, three the Matou’s have one called “Absorption” which let’s them bind things to themselves, and there are a bunch of others.

I'd be the type of Mage seeking to bring back magic from the age of the gods. Calling upon Casters like Madea in the holy grail war for tutilage. Hoping to bring arcane back to the modern age, while parallelly moving alongside progress. If nothing else, looking to capture magic of old and developing items that mimic it like an artificer.

I know it might be a bit late, but what about how/if certain cultural upbringing also has influence on mage diversity. Not sure if it is just in the Nasuverse or part of human history, but it seems that parts of Europe, the Mediterranean, and Asia have a richer mage history than that of other parts of the Western world. While correlation does not equal causation, it is interesting that while the human history of those parts of the world are richer than that of the Western world, so is the history of the magus that stem from those region of the world. In summation, does regional up bringing and history influence the capacity of mage?
@otakudaikun
@otakudaikun 2 жыл бұрын
Im pretty sure it helps. Places with a rich history of Magecraft are probably more likely to foster better mages. It doesn't seem to prevent certain bloodlines from declining though. It's more likely to influence the type of Magecraft practiced there.

My ultimate goal for reaching the root would be to accomplish four wishes. First to become a hero of legend like Gilgamesh, Cu chulainn, or Iskandar not exactly a 100% good person but someone who inspires others to pursue their dreams I would accomplish this wish by achieving my other three, first is overthrowing the corrupt buracrats and corporate tyrants who control our world holding our potential back and wiping the slate clean for new geniuses to rise up and reach the currently overcrowded top, second develop a form of clean cheep energy that everyone can use to improve their daily lives and most importantly three discover the form of immortality I desperately want controlled reincarnation that allows me to be reborn in any world I want in any form I want while keeping my memories and emotions from each life safely stored somewhere and leave the research of this accomplishment behind for others to follow if they want if I can accomplish these things I'd be satisfied with my life. As for possible new lessons notable historical mages and their impact on magecraft like Merlin, Solomon and Zelrech might be an interest topic
