Hi I'd like to answer Hassan's question about Momina saying "Tumhein taufeeq mil gai hai tou tum jao, mera safar abhi baki hai". I dont think so it is about Momina wanting to continue acting rather it is the safar of finding the purpose of life and finding Allah. To me what she really meant was that Momin has been blessed because he found his true calling and his purpose of life but she still has to figure out. The reason why I think so disagreeing with Amna's opinion is because Momina NEVER really wanted to act in the first place. She did so because she had to arrange for the money for Jahangir's Treatment and later she did to repay the debt she had on her. Also I don't think so that Master Ibrahim knew she was husnejahan because he had been in Italy all his life so how could he possibly know some actress of Pakistan and that too when her fame had died down anyway. When he says "mujhe Abdulalla ne ye nahi bataya k aap itni haseen hain, aap tou husnejahaan hain, he said that metaphorically". And about Dada not trying to change Momin's opinion of his mother, he did try. You guys can rewatch initial episodes, he tries to tell Momin k tmhari maa ki koi ghalti nahi thi koi qusur nahi tha"

I disagree with amna's interpretation of Dada's character, she thinks of dada as a very dark character but he's not, he has made one mistake of opposing taha's marriage to husne jahan, that was also because he had this common stereotype of an actress character and that she'll mislead taha from religious path, later dada also decides to forgive taha but taha dies by then, he married husne jahan to master Ibrahim because he wanted both of them to find peace and love in each other, he did it with a right intention, and he didn't tell momin the reason for his parents separation because then momin will blame himself for that but he said to momin that his mother was very good women.

Amna and Hassan, I didn't want to say this but I'm honestly VERY disappointed with this review! "Abdul Aala ki jagah sirf Momin hi le sakta hai" because he's his ONLY grandchild. There's nothing about men in this. Momina didn't go with Momin because as two DIFFERENT individuals, she has her OWN path and Momin has his OWN path. She wasn't ready at that moment because she hadn't completed her journey yet! The "journey of finding Alif"! And there's nothing wrong with Momin leaving the industry to start calligraphy, I mean we should atleast respect his choice. And Dada accepted his mistakes...and that's all that matters at the end!

I disagree that she has a bias or that being a feminist means hating on men. I think we are so used to seeing everything from the standpoint of men that most of us don't notice or question. But trust me, some of us notice all too well. Alif was HeJ's story - but it was shown through the lens of men mostly. Ehd e Wafa had strong female characters, which was commendable even though the story wasn't about those women. I found Amna's interpretation of Dada very interesting and enlightened. Because I don't think that even the writer intended to make him a dark character. But if you really do analyze dada, he was truly the cause of most of the issues because as Hassan pointed out rightly - he thought that his way was the only right way of being connected to Allah. Lovely analysis - this drama is like an onion. You can not only keep peeling the layers, but you can actually see the story and the characters in the light of your own perspective and interpret it completely differently - and each perspective is equally valid

Dada Jaan didn't know what happened the day Sultan visited HeJ. Even then he believed in HeJ's character. And told Momin that he didn't know what mistake she had made but he knows that she is 'Naik Rooh' and 'why do you blame your mother' etc. HeJ never clarified herself but Dada told Master Ibrahim that her character was so pure that is why she felt indebted to him. It was always Momin who saw things and made judgements. Although I agree Dada should've told Momin that he made HeJ marry Master Ibrahim. *But* Momin didn't want to hear her name and when Momin finally asked Dada whom she married, she had already passed away. Now Dada only had Momin left and he didn't want to burden him with guilt and only wanted peace for him. I understand Dada had made some wrong choices but I don't doubt his intentions at all. He had always loved the people around him.

The old man took advantage of her goodness and married her off instead of allowing her to be with her son and setting the boy straight about how his mother was a good woman and deserved his respect and love. He should have told Momin that he (old man) had wrongly misjudged Husna. Master Ibrahim's idea of a good woman was a woman without a child. The reason for that is the selfish need to have all the attention on himself. Is a widow with a child a bad person? No. But would the child take attention away from him? Yes.

Fr me Alif was a holistic experience rather than a drama. One of a kind! Though many felt that the pace of the drama was slow n preachy, the production quality was nt good, but according to me it was a part of the aesthetics of the story. I have watched Umera Ahmed's dramas before n observed that her characters r predominantly subjective n gv a deep insight into human psyche entwined in relationships. Her female protagonists r strong, highly moral yet vulnerable. Be it ZGH, Durre Shahwar, Daam or Alif. They belong to a different league of dramas fr a different set of audience. Alif has a much deeper meaning beyond the superficial story..Umera Ahmed has intricately concealed it n it unfolds as the story progresses. We need to see it frm a different perspective. Abdul Ala is doing khattati...his ancestral profession which has to be passed on to his nxt generation bcoz they feel they r privileged ones to be bestowed with this talent by Allah. When Taha deviates frm this path, he looses his privilege..i.e symbolic here that when u leave Allah for the material world, u lose everything. Husne jahan was a witness to his turmoil n downfall n she realised that mayb Momin could complete wht his father could nt.(thr ws a painting of an ayat which Taha could not complete). Dada never came to claim Momin. Probably she blamed herself fr Taha's loss n didn't clarify her image evn though she knew Momin hd begun hating her bcoz of Sultan's intrusion n her profession.Dada cm into thr lives much later after she hd nowhere to go, she turned to him. Abdul Ala was flawed he was blinded with rage bcoz he blamed Husne Jahan fr his son goin astray but when he realised he had misjudged her he tries to compensate by marrying her with a man of similar values. Why he never confronts Momin about his Mother's character..is nt shown clearly but he does mention to him a couple of times that his mother was a pious woman. Well thats hw the story unfolds n thr is a message thr...Khuda apne har bande ke aib ka parda rakhta hai..har raaz amanat hota hai..her bhed apne waqt par khulta hai...

Amna has misunderstood some of the things in this final episode. I haven't read the novel but some things were very clear. 1. Momin clearly says that he is going away to Turkey because after ages he had achieved peace. He says Bahut der ke baad mujhe sukoon mila hai aur main woh khona nahin chahta. 2. Master Abrahim did not know that his Husna was Husn e Jahan till Momina gave him the pictures. 3. Momina 's refusal to go with Momin was not that she wanted to continue to act. In that Amna is absolutely off the track. She clearly says she was skeptical about their relationship not becoming one of Taha and Husn e Jahan. Probably she was right in her fears. Both of them were headstrong individuals and their previous quarrels prove that. Probably they need this time apart so that Momina can realise that nothing matters more to her than Momin. I liked the ending. Their expressions and dialogues were superb, and their one and only hug spoke volumes. And the last 15 minutes were the most touching ones out of all the episodes. Hats off to the makers for giving us an epic show which will go down in the history of television and will be remembered for many many years to come. From an appreciative Indian

Also, the trivias that you were trying to find were quite clear in the episodes. I have not even read the book and don’t need to. Dada jaan was an arrogant man with a young son he thought he had raised very well and when he was about to be deviated from a path of Allah he advised him wrong because as said he was a flawed man. it is not a woman or a man but a person himself who loses faith. I feel that Taha himself was not clear in his faith and nor in his trust for the love of his life. I want to remind that when Sultan brought momin to dadajaan he told him about Husnejahan’s trust in him to raise her son in the right. It made him realize how wrongly he had judged her or atleast given him some idea about it. Momin saw his mother but it seems that he never told anyone so how is dadajan or anyone supposed to know why he has such a view of women. All said that, he really should have shed light on her character to momin when he was so old and knew he would die soon. He could have given his good two pence because it wouldn’t have hurt husne jahan’s marriage anymore as she was already gone and the husband wasn’t around momin. So there he was neglectful I think.

We saw one episode ago, that Sultan gave him a bunch of letters which were supposed to be letters from HeJ to Sultan that she wrote over the years when she was married, and lived with her son in Turkey. Reading those letters was supposed to make Momin understand his mom better and know the reality of what happened in Turkey. But they never showed him reading those letters. The letter he did read in the last episode - where did that come from? Was that given to him by his dada at some point along with the letter box? If so, why did they show him reading it now? Why would he not have read those letters earlier, at least as research for the movie script he was writing based on his mother's life? This was a big loophole for me. I'd love to hear from anyone who can explain this

Hassan bhai my outcome of the story was that dada was a pious man but husn e jahan was the main lady. She loved Allah so much that her love, her blind faith and trust helped momin to come back to Allah. It wasn't because momin's family was pious. It was the love and devotion of a muslim woman that momin was guided by Allah and husn e jahan and momina bith played a pivotal role in that ❤.

No you got it wrong Amina when she goes back to Turkey Momin refuses to be with her and Dada does tell him that his mother is not a bad woman. Than she says what is she going to do and he gets her married. Then he again tells Momin to see his mother when she comes before her death. So it was not that dada was dictating her. Master Ibrahim was not aware she was an actress because he was not in Pakistan. He was not told because Dada wanted her to find happiness and start fresh.
