I like how Hirugamj said "Even if I make a mistake, nobody will die" which helped him make volleyball fun again but after time skip we See him as a 5th year veterinary student, the work where making a mistake MAY lead to death. I like to think it shows how he matured and despite somewhat still being afraid, he wanted to try caring about his new passion again, this time with new healthy mindset.

hirugami for me is a character that immediately made a strong impression with his story and message, which was pretty late into the manga but still managed to be so impactful and important. his mental health journey, the real questions he had, and the lesson he eventually learned, were all so important for the young audience of hq to read. we're all a bit lost and tired sometimes, and it's important to realize that it's human and natural for us to feel this way, and pace ourselves/know when to quit. i love this video!

Hirugami's arc is so underated man, That line when he's told he can just quit is such a breath of fresh air. Its as if that pressure that I've put on myself and forcing my own back against this imaginary wall completely went away after I realized that i could just stop at any time and that issues that I was dealing with werent as severe as i made them out to be.

Great video! I'm also glad you touched up on Osamu at the end and how he isn't quitting exactly but he is going on his own path. As a twin myself their situation is fairly relatable as their interests and passions diverge from each other and I'm glad you say it because quitting usually is depicted as a negative thing and Osamu realising that his heart doesn't belong to Volleyball is a great moment and shouldn't be seen as him quitting or giving up.

Its scary how relatable his story is, i used to feel the same way when i trained for tennis back at high school (including the self harming). Every achievements were just musts in my head, and when i didnt get to them, i felt like a failure. The feeling of rage used to control me constantly and it reflected directly on my results. Literally from one day to another you understand that you are not forced into that position, that you should be the one chosing going on with the sport and it should be fun. But even once you get it, its hard not to go back to old habits once in a while, its a long process. Nowadays i genuinely enjoy my matches (even though they are full of errors and totally not professional) more than ever. Sports should be fun, even at a high level

Yeah I relate to this, no matter how good the point was, if I won i would say to myself "okay, as expected" and any mistake would be a huge negative. Its crazy how the fun just disappeared. But now I just try to enjoy the competition and pushing myself. The only way I ever hit amazing winners in a match was because I hit 100's of them in the net in practice. So why beat ourselves up for mistakes?

yesterday i had my freshman tryouts, i honestly was surprised by how little people that were there who tried out especially since it's girls volleyball. i finally thought i had a chance of making the school team but i lacked the club experience for it. i had a stomach bug for an entire week and i was just so exhausted and nauseous during the tryouts i sat out most of it. i wasnt surprised when i got an email saying that i didnt have a spot on their team and i wouldnt attend the next tryout session. lately ive been learning to let go on these mistakes, i knew i can always do better and this was honestly something that wasnt within my control, i knew i tried my best even with the condition i was in. volleyball isnt something i would ever pursue professionally or even at a college level with my height (160 cms) and i could always quit whenever i want to, but it makes me happy to play it and thats really what matters to me. whenever i watch your videos i always feel so calm and have a sense of relief knowing that these things are all something that i can learn and apply to my life no matter what.

I gotta read this series front to back. I watched everything up until S4 ended, then immediately read the rest (havent seen the movie yet oop) and it holds a lot of inspirational moments of hype in ny memory. But these videos have shown me there is also a great deal of introspection to be gained about pursuing your interests

I love your videos and this is another great one! Regarding other sights of blood @7:55 - we see blood a few other times in the series. When Daichi loses his tooth, the first indicator is some blood coming out of his mouth. Aside from that, both Takeda and Hinata get nosebleeds due to impact (the floor and a ball, respectively).

I had to learn a lession like this the hard way the past year. I used to go to the gym a lot. I was consistent in my schedule and had a very rigid schedule that I kept myself to. But what happened over time was that I became too obsessed with improvements. I kept adding new things to the schedule, making each session longer and harder, until I ended up with a bloated schedule that was long, exhausting, and most important UNFUN. I stopped going to the gym, and basically didn't return until over a year later due to just being burnt out from it. I used to think it was a lot more fun to exercise before I let myself lose focus on enjoying it and only focused on improvement and training harder. Now I am finally starting to get back to it again. It is still not as often or consistently as I used to, and my regimen has significantly shrunk in what it contains. But now I am having a lot more fun every time I go there. I think it fits within the same lesson. Even though I did not quit going to the gym, I did "quit" in the sense of letting the schedule and numbers control me, and now my goal is just to enjoy the time I spend there rather than some nebulous goal of "become more fit"

im handball player , i had potential , talent , was selected one time for youth national team , played for first team with old heads against other old heads , i was totaly fine, even great player, but i injured my back , overtraining, discus hermy, and now for the past 2 months i am in huge pain , physically and mentally , and it will continiue for at least 2 more months, some doctor told me im gonna be fine and be a great player , other told me i could never play handball again, and as days passes by , something tells me that im not gonna be same or even if im gonna play again handball, but there is always these storys of pro athletes like "doctors told me im never gonna play again but look at me achiving greatness...etc" so im praying to god that with my pure desire and will, i will make a comeback on court even better next time. Im telling this shit cuz i am watching every single one of ur lessons videos , and its helping trough everything ive been through, so i just wanna thank you for ur effort and will to make videos like this . thank you. And the craziest part is.. all of this pressure he put on himself was entirely pressure to live up to what he thought his parents expectations were, the expectations he built up in his head. Spoilers for the time-skip Hirugami ends up becoming a veterinarian, which likely means that when he talked to his parents about quitting after hs, his family was fully accepting of it and didn't give him shit for not following in their footsteps.

really great video again! Thanks for that! You mentioned that we may see blood only twice in Haikyuu. While I haven't yet read the manga in its entirety yet, I seem to remember we also see some blood in the match Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa where Tsukishima injures his hand while blocking Ushijima to the degree where he bleeds and has to go to the medical team with Yachi. That said, I agree that we rarely see blood in this anime. The philosophy or rather the different philosophies on life introduced by the characters makes it one of the best anime. at least in my opinion.
