Yeah no whoever walk away from Tsukishima with just "oh he didn't care and now he cares" just missed the point by a mile. You see Tsuki suffer and get bitter, you see him get irritated when people around him lmotivate him and, hell, right before his backstory in season 2 he is literally saying with an irritated voice "why do you try so hard? It will only make it hurt more when you fail" *cut to a scene of his brother crying in his room*. Tsuki's attitude is one big defense mechanism rooted really hard in his teenage brain but you can't deny the kid played Volleyball for 5+ years and didn't stop even when he was shocked at seing his brother at his lamest point.

Thanks for showing another perspective of him seeing himself and Hinata paralleled to his brother with the Little Giant. It made more sense why he was always trying to place himself after Hinata cause of what happned to his brother being a senior but was taken over by a younger player. For me, Tsukishim had been acknowledging Hinata’s abilities but did not like all the hype he was giving to the club cause he could see his brother in him and he knew there would be a time Hinata would face a defeat in the future that might destroy him.

Hey dude i just finished watching you eariler stuff and went to this one before i go through my day. Honestly these hit close to home for me. In my situation it was soccer. (Imagine how i felt when blue lock came out) I played for two years, but those two years i work hard. I knew i wasnt gonna match people who played because the love the game and since they were little. Buti wanted to match or help those people who love it shine. Ive grown fond of the sport but i never had a passion for or i guess i never fully liked it. But i found my motivation but seeking a chance to help people shine through. I spent my second year in school but my first year in soccer as a defender and midfielder. I never made goals and we lost a good bit, but i played and i feel like i shined and people cheered for me when i stopped a ball from making it in. When i stole it from the other player, when i was this close to makeing it. I wanted to shine now, i wsnted to achieve a goal, i wanted screams for me. But the matter of fact was, i didnt practice much i was still in my first year of actually playjng soccer. My second year of sccer (currently this year) i was benches, i moved up to varsity and i was bench most of the time, i was people fight but i wasnt on there. I couldnt do what was easy for people who played longer and with a passion could. I never got my chance to shine or even help stop someone. The feeling of loving a sport left, i had zero hope for me. But it hurt, i want to help thats all, i went back to my "all i want is to help someone else shine" im not good enough to want more. It wss a horrible mind set but it was all i had. I end my season the exact opposite of the way i wanted too. So seeing this made my heart cry a little. Im not going back. My last year i plan to work. Seeing just this video made me want to go back. It really did. Thank you, i mught not mean alot but thank you, this video hits close to home for me. And im honestly so happy tuski got a chance to love his sport and still play it as a college student. It really makes me feel like i could have if i reallt wanted it. Anyways that was my rant 😂😂😂 love the videos i subscribed!!!

yeah, I felt some similarities at the begin of the story to myselft with the very realistic and rational viewpoint, and that volleyball is just a game. but as the series progressed, I immersed myself and got more and more carried away by their spirit in their games. and the spirit for improving was especially shown in the tokyo training arc. and that´s the part where you can see the best how important volleyball is also for tsukushima, but I got annoyed a bit by him when he didn´t admit it. the spark flew over to me outside of the anime but, he directly involved couldn´t be true to himself. but then in the last match tsukushima really shined and I felt happy because we saw how you can change, that you should never let the spark of hope die and always give your best.

I really appreciate this kind of content, and thank you very much for making this one because there's something in my head that's been bothering me since I lost to another tournament I played the last month. I am competing in a moba game and it's been a few years since I started doing this. So a few months back there was a challengers league that was announced last July, and I saw an opportunity for me to go pro, so a month later I found a team that was good enough to compete for the challengers league, scrims was going well and we are improving week by week. The rules for the challengers league is it will be a 4 month long qualifiers and the winner for the each month will play for the finals and 2 teams will only make it. But, a week before the tournament, internal dispute happened between my team mate and my manager. They decided to take separate ways and it affected our momentum. One member of our team got my team into a drama that doesn't make sense and he left the team, so 4 of us decided to just find someone good enough to fill in. But we didn't had much time to practice and we lost the 2nd qualifiers. After that month, we rebuilt the roster again but 2 players left our team and the 3 of us still wants to finish until the end of the qualifiers. We had a couple of changes constantly for the 2 remaining qualifiers. Bottom line is, these things that happened to me as an individual hits me deep, I feel hopeless and I thought to myself If I had a better team mates I could have made it. I lost my will to compete again, I feel like I hit a wall or ceiling that tells me this is only how far I can make it. But, after seeing this video, Tsukki showed us that nothing is meaningless doing what is fun and what you love. Same to what bokuto said to tsukki that says: "keep going until that happens, until you have that moment." Personally it's really hard to keep going, I've been competing for years but haven't made it to pro scene. I failed twice the past years on a qualifier, my team still need just 1 win to make it to pro scene, but we lost. Happened again a few months later. But I still continued competing after that loss. I forgot to give myself credit when I did not give up after the devastating loss I had before. I actually rewatched haikyuu for the third time and it's still keeps reminding me or teaching me things that I forgot or never knew. I also watched some sports anime such as Major!, Diamond no ace, Ao ashi, blue lock, Overtake! and Ahiru no sora. When I feel stuck or I feel like I hit a wall, I always comeback and watch one of there anime to help me get back up on my feet and keep on doing until it happens to me. I will go back into the light that's coming from the court.

I always found tsukkii a very interesting character, i completely understood him. he always put up this fake, image of superiority and lies, to hide his insecurities, and honestly, I get that, I do that. he focuses on all that he can't do, without paying much attention to what he can, as a volleyball player myself, it makes him seem all the more interesting to me, it really does make a difference to me when I think of the times when I first starting playing the sport and compare them to now, I really do realize how much I've improved and gives me more motivation to keep playing, although my improvement was insignificant, it gave me reason to keep playing. and not just volleyball, this applies to everything else too, in third grade I was at an average of 55% after that, during 4-5 grade in lockdown they just kept on deteriorating, I genuinely didn't think it would be any better, but I put in some effort in 6th grade after covid and did really manage to score 84%-ish and now in 7th, 89% the day I got my report card, I felt dissapointed, I was just that close to 90%, but when i looked back, i realised how much I've improved and how much i still can. which gave me confidence for starting 8th grade and score a 90%-95%.

I don't know if it's dumb or silly, but Haikyuu is what got me into volleyball. I was so desperate to participate in a team game that I felt like I could contribute to, to get stronger for the team. And it fulfilled so much in me I never realized. I went through a lot of hardships and bad teams who didn't care about me. But I kept going and just played and played and played. Every day I played so much volleyball. I was small, but I loved being a middle. And when I got a block on a coach who worked to go to the olympics, a genuine full throttle hit. God it was absolutely invigorating. Of course, my life in volleyball sadly didn't go anywhere. I broke my foot right before college and the college teams were dreadfully awful from when I had last visited. And then covid hit, which made the whole thing pointless. But it showed me that I could have a love for something and be determined. Tsukishima was a huge inspiration for me back then, cause I struggled to really care for anything as well. I'd love to get back into volleyball again someday. Though it's still a time of my life I'll never forget how exciting it was.

Man, when I first watched Haikyuu I disliked Tsukishima so much because he was so mean to Hinata. The whole thing about throwing their first game, I think we all could sense that he was just projecting his insecurities, and I disliked him at that point because I felt like that was a very lame and childish thing for him to do. But as the story progresses and we see his backstory, I start to feel bad for him. He became a very relatable character. Admitting that you like something is easy if you are simple-minded. But if you have a certain level of pride, just like he does, you can't help but expect yourself to be good at that thing first before you can proudly say that you love it. In the process, you will naturally start to compare yourself with others. And that is sooo scary, especially being in a team like Karasuno where everyone is just so stupidly in love about volleyball. You would have at least felt a bit insecure that you don't have the same courage to like the sport as much, or more like, to like it with such an illogical, irrational, single-minded pursuit. It's impossible but why they are trying so hard? I felt like that's probably what went through his mind every time he goes for practice lol. Tsukishima is such an inspirational character because if someone as salty as him can find that moment and overcome his fear, so can we, people who probably thought we are at least less lame than him to begin with hahahha. Personally, I kept saying I'm just doing music for fun, that this is just a hobby, but I think deep inside it also came from a place of fear, I know I can't make it out there doing music alone, just like how Kei said it's impossible to beat Ushiwaka. I think what I learned from him is more about finding a single goal that you want to achieve, and in the process of achieving that goal, you will naturally discover the joy of why you do it in the first place. I love Tsukishima so much that I pushed myself to sing something meaningful for his birthday every year. Definitely re-discovered my passion for music in the process because I kept surprising myself at all the creative things I could actually create the moment I set my goal to do something. Tsukishima's backstory is the number one thing I love about Haikyuu!! The number two, is the idea that 'this too, is volleyball', after the match with Kamomedai! Oookay story time end, it's time to start working hard again! 💛 because the moment had come to me many many times and I'm sure it's going to come back again as long I keep on going. Woo! Thanks for reading xD

Slightly off topic but blue lock really is so different. The passion of it doesn't really compare to anything else as far as I'm aware. Haikyuu is amazing and I learned so much from it, but not every character wants to be *the best in the world* and even if they do, in blue lock it's a much stronger ambition for most if not all characters I wish we'll get more "intense" media like that. In a way I guess that's one criticism you could throw at the pile of gold that is haikyuu
@RevilloPhoenix Жыл бұрын
Blue Lock to be honest deserves to be mentioned in the dictionary under the description of Drive, passion and ambition.
@Minaaamii Жыл бұрын
I actually think that’s the charm in haikyuu. Not everyone has the same level of drive, passion, and ambition, and that’s okay. I really liked the realistic nature of Haikyuu and while I have yet to watch Blue Lock, I feel like although they’re both sports animes, they bring forth a very different perspective and viewing experience.

Have you talked about Takeda Sensei yet? If not, could you do one about him?
@LessonsFromAnime9 ай бұрын
I haven't, but tbh I don't know if he'll get a specific video. He says a lot of brilliant stuff, but I don't think he himself has enough of a story for a full video, rather he'll get a lot of mentions in other vids instead

"long video" - video is 18 minutes. I expected it to be like 45 minutes lol. I just binge these so they seem longer ig.

I thought it Ushikawa, not Ushiwaka? Or am I wrong?
