I’m impressed at how productive you are. I think you’re doing great! Two years ago I realized I had gained quite a bit of weight. I don’t like dieting. What worked for me was to push breakfast to late in the morning, then eat lunch about 3:00. Instead of dinner I would have a snack about 6:00. I also walk. I’ve lost 20 lbs and it feels great. Good luck with your health goals.

Your Sparrow blocks are very cute! If it were me I'd piece the grunge that you have to complete the rectangles and continue on especially since you're so excited to work on the project. I don't think it would ever be noticed once you get it quilted. The way my luck goes the grunge that I'd order would be a little bit of a different in color than what I already have lol. I really like that grunge as the background by the way. 😊 Happy Monday! I'm going to go sew borders on the on-point quilt that I finally made into a flimsie this past weekend.

Happy Monday. I would piece the background to get it to the proper size of just 5 blocks. Once it's done and in the quilt, those seams will not matter. The two-tone heads are just getting creative and will look great. I think I might encourage you to do another head that way. The eye likes patterns and colors in odd repeat numbers - i.e. 3, 5, 7 etc. Just spread them around the quilt top.

You should piece the grunge . That's what quilts are all about. The shipping costs suck, and "no buy" any way you can is a good thing. I love how you did the 2 bird heads with two pieces.

That happens to me more often than I like to admit! I have a little ditty that I say and turn around 3 turns with my eyes shut. Saying "Close your eyes and turn around, what once was lost, now is found!". LOL I know it sounds hokey but it works for me. I found my friend's dead mother's ashes that way once, for her! Her husband made fun of me then went into their shared office. We heard him with a very loud OMG! He came out with the box that was sitting on a shelf above his computer. He never made fun of me again. LOL

My thoughts are to piece it together. I am not fond of doing that but I often find that the time and expense just isn’t worth it. Plus, I’ll probably pack it away until I can locate the needed fabric and then forget about it or just not finish it. It’s an adorable quilt ❤

I clean my machine after each, Bob and change. And I also change my needle after a day of 6 hours of sewing. If I’m quilting on my domestic machine, I may have to change it sooner, but I can start hearing the thud of the needle and know it’s time to change it. My Sewing Machine tech has told me I don’t have to take it to the spa for cleaning or maintenance every year like it’s recommended. He said I could bring it every two years for a tuneup because I take good care of my machines. Some of these machines are so expensive that you really need to cling them regularly and take care of them. I’ve learned not to use cheap thread and have become somewhat of a thread snob, just because I find that they have less lint. This is a great episode. I appreciate it as usual.

I think you should peice 1 and see how noticeable it is(making just the tail peice not the whole block) and your decission then after you see how it looks. I saw an interesting video this last week. A quilter used the large cotton dish towels (I use them also, the ones from Walmart, 5 in a package) and put appliques on them by the month and made a sting from the same fabric to tie them to hook or stove front. She also plans to make a few sets of each and gift to friends. She even put a binding around the edge just like on a quilt. Very inexpensive and using scraps, one she make a quilt block and appliqued it on. All applique was with sewing machine.

I would piece the grunge, there are so many little pieces in that quilt that a few extra pieces are never going to show up and the block piece right above it is pieced. Also you pieced the two birds heads without a worry. Maybe piece one and see how you feel before you order. I think as quilters we now look for perfection instead of the old use what we have mentality.

Piece the grunge. It will slow your momentum and cost too much to order. I like the pieced head better than the non-pieced one, by the way! :) Good for you on the growing savings account. I broke down yesterday and ordered 6 more yards of the 108 Wabi Sabi fabric I used on a quilt recently. I love it and once gone, as you know, especially 108s are impossible to get more of. Hancock was down to their last 22 yards, so I bought 6 and resisted adding anything else to my order, even the Tranquility layer cakes which are 19.99 and have some of the colors I didn’t get. #restraint! Going back to my no buy. I am using the money I am saving to buy some Art Bin containers for project bins. I really want to do an Ohio Star quilt soon. Maybe I will use my Denim and Daisies for that. Stash doesn’t look much smaller but I finished binding three quilts and need to sew binding on three more. Then I will feel able to add a few more projects to the mix. Have fun sewing!

Happy Monday! If you don't point it out in the pattern, I think your extra seam is fine - where it is and how it will come together I think is a logical choice and could have been as if the designer had chosen to do it that way.
